Don't Miss the Boat!

This was Noah's message to the ungodly world of his day - "Don't miss the boat!'  Enoch preached to this same group of ungodly people before Noah - "Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of His saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."  Enoch wasn't a very "nice" preacher.  I am sure his numbers were way down on Sunday morning.  He didn't try to tickle their ears and entertain the lost in order to get their money.

And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.  They did eat (gluttons), they drank (drunkards), they married wives, they were given in marriage (indifference - blatantly ignored the warnings and entreaties of Noah), until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.  Married today, drowned tomorrow.  Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. The people of Noah's day were caught up with here and now, they didn't even take time to think about their soul or Eternity.  Their thoughts were on good food, the best liquor, better houses, investments, retirements.  They could not imagine life without material possessions.  They gave no thought to their sins.  They were shallow, temporal, carnal, distracted, deceived and lost.  The world today still neglect their souls and are so busy worrying about their fleeting vanities.

Be sure you don't miss the boat either.  Noah was a very peculiar man in his day.  He loved not the world, and he hated his sins.  Noah loved God in the midst of an ungodly depraved culture; He cared much about what God said and thought and was not influenced by that crooked and perverse generation.  He was always witnessing and preaching and praying.  He was a real fanatic, but Noah didn't let the world's sneers and jeers affect his service to God.  Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.  Noah feared God, but the worldlings all around him forgot God and perished in the way.  Noah lived to please the invisible Creator, and the lost world lived to please their own lusts, belly, and temporal things.  Sin is no respecter of persons; it damns every soul that loves it.  God looks on the heart.  You have to die; prepare for the inevitable.

Religion counts heads on Sunday morning, but God counts hearts on Monday-Saturday morning.  Way back yonder, only eight souls entered the ark of Safety.  The millions of worldlings were wrong, and the eight fanatics in the ark were right.  Noah and his family were preserved from destruction, because they regarded the words of God.  God was longsuffering to the people of Noah's day, and God is also longsuffering to us-ward now in 2014.  The great door of Mercy is still open to you.  Will you enter into the Door of Safety whose name is Jesus?  A door that is almost shut is open; a man that is almost honest is a crook; a man that is almost saved is lost.  Salvation is in a Person (Christ Jesus), not in things.

There is a Hell for those who refuse to know Jesus, for those who live and die willfully ignorant of the things of God.  The profane atheist and the religionist will both be damned outside of Christ.  At your peril you neglect or reject Christ Jesus.  The finished work of Noah was the world's only refuge from the flood, and now the finished atoning cross-work of Christ Jesus, God manifest in the flesh, is this world's only refuge from the wrath of God on human sin.

The family of God will be safe and sound in Christ when the wrath to come is finally unleashed on human sin.  The ungodly multitudes today are in danger of eternal destruction, so they drink and drug themselves into a mindless stupor and laugh at the Gospel of Christ.  Will you warn them of the wrath to come?  Noah died to the world and its sinful ways.  Sin is bitter to the soul where Christ dwells.  Noah could not take pleasure in sinning against God.  How can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?  How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Get into Christ Jesus Himself by faith in His Precious Blood.  You must be born again; you must be saved by Blood.  Christ's Blood is the pitch which seals the door and shuts the world out from our hearts and minds.  The invisible hand of God shut the door of the ark and shut Noah and his family in with the animals.  The invisible hand of God is still at work today.  I will put My fear into their hears, that they shall not depart from Me.  Christ Jesus, the Door of God's Mercy, is now open wide to your lost soul.  In Christ is where your soul needs to be.  When the thunder and lightning and downpour of rain began, Noah was perfectly safe in the ark with God.  All is at peace within Christ.  Jesus said, "Ye will not come to Me. that ye might have life." The love of sin, indifference and unbelief keep men away from Christ.

Trust Christ today, die to the old man, and live in newness of life.  You have incurred great guilt upon your soul by rejecting Christ all these years.  If you reject Christ, you have chose your own destruction.  Forsake your love for sin, seek God's Mercy at the feet of Jesus. Voluntarily enter into Christ through faith in His atoning blood.  If you die in your sins, you will be shut out from all hope forever.  The carnal mind delights in sin and in this world's temporal amusements.

Reading the Bible, pondering the Gospel, and musing on the Savior is dreary and weariness to the sin-loving man.  Remember God, don't forget Jesus; take special care of your soul.  Don't give your life and soul over to this empty, hell-bound world.  They laughed at Noah till the rain started falling.  Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and escape the wrath to come.  The flood of God's wrath is coming, and if you trust in Jesus' blood, your soul shall be spared in that day.  Don't turn your back on Jesus, and wind up in the Lake of Fire.  Please come onboard, don't miss the boat!
