Divine Justice Satisfied 13

The only reason any sinner would ever think that he could help save himself from his sins by his own doings is because he is totally ignorant of two things:  God’s Divine Justice, and his own sinfulness and guiltiness.  The God of the Bible is Just and can never allow your sins to go unpunished.  No man in his right mind can imagine a God without justice.  The Savior of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, was crushed under divine justice on Calvary’s Cross while bearing your sins in His own body.  Christ Jesus the Lord satisfied divine justice forever with His own life’s blood.

I am freely justified by His Atoning Blood, and I can never ever be condemned all because of Jesus' sake.  Jesus has suffered my sins’ punishment in my place.  I stand in Christ’s place; Christ stands in mine.  I deserve eternal punishment, but Christ died for sinners.  I am a sinner, so Jesus died for me.  I have trusted only to Jesus’ blood; therefore, I am saved eternally from the wrath to come.  My Ransom died in my place, because He loves me so.  His Blood has cancelled my sin debts forever.  I am free from divine retribution and punishment.  Justice is now fully satisfied; It was all done for me at Calvary.    All my Hope and Confide is in the Cross, period.  Turn your eye now from self to Calvary; behold the Victim of divine justice suffering there on your behalf.  My God was crucified to pay for my sins.  The Sacrifice of Atonement has been made for your transgressions.  View the loving Savior in His sufferings.  Let His blood purchase and rescue your soul.  Jesus suffered the actual penalty that was due to us.  You are circling the drain, time is short, life is brief, eternity is forever, plan ahead.

Justice damns a man, but Mercy and free Grace saves him.  God is absolutely just, and His justice cannot endure one sin.  Conviction, guilt, and alarm of inevitable consequences due to your sin comes to your mind and conscience from the work of the Holy Spirit.  The guilty, unconverted soul is afraid of God and avoids Him.  The Law demands a perfect righteousness from you, but a perfect righteousness from you is impossible because you are a sinner through and through.  A sinner has no righteousness at all.  You must go to Christ for all your Righteousness, or you will be eternally damned. If you die in your sins unsaved and unprepared without Jesus Christ, all will be lost.  The Law cannot find fault with Christ, for He never sinned.  He is the sinner’s Substitute.  He has kept the commandments for us flawlessly.  He never violated the law in one point.  Justice cannot find fault with me for Christ has put His robe of Righteousness over my shoulders.  Jesus has washed me clean in His blood.  He cleansed me from all my sin.  All my past guilt is gone.  As for the penalty, Jesus bore it Himself.  He bore what I should have suffered.  He endured the agonies I ought to have received.

Jesus made a complete Atonement for me and now there is no need for me to die and atone for my guilt in Hell.  Jesus completed the perfect Righteousness required by God’s holiness.  God says, “Loose the prisoner, let him go for Jesus' sake.  My Divine Justice is satisfied.  My Law requires no more satisfaction, vengeance has had it due, let him go for Jesus' sake."

Human nature is obscene and vulgar; it loves to sit and watch people suffer and commit sins.  Ye are condemned already; your name is written in the black book of divine justice.  Your name must be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, and the only way to get your name written there is to trust in the Lamb of God’s Atoning Blood that was shed for your transgressions.  Every man wants to make something out of himself, but the Holy Spirit must make something of you, or you have wasted your life and damned your soul.

You are sentenced by God to eternal death because of your sins against Him.  Nevertheless, Jesus took punishment, and bore the wrath we ought to have received; He took the guilt we committed.  The sinner who puts his trust in Christ’s Substitution escapes eternal punishment.  Jesus can save you, because he did not save Himself.  He can save you, because He took your guilt and endured your punishment.  There is no way of salvation apart from the satisfaction of divine justice.  Either the sinner must die, or else Someone must die for him.  Human nature rails at and ignores God’s divine justice.

Now understand -- The Atonement has been wholly made; Justice has been entirely satisfied.  Jesus was the sinner’s Substitute, He paid the sinner’s doom, and died the sinner’s death.  My guilt is fully imputed to Him.  Your guilt soul owes to divine justice; payday is coming; you have run up a score of black sins.  Christ paid your debts for you.  The whole roll of your debts to God shall be opened; only Christ’s blood can give you a pardon and discharge.  Agree with thy Creditor quickly, whilst thou are in the way with Him, lest He deliver thee to the Judge, and the Judge deliver thee to the office to cast thee into prison.  Matthew 5:25; Luke 12:58.  Sinners can never be remitted without satisfaction.

God must be just.  All sin must be punished.  The worldling knows there is a god, but He is a little god.  The worldling scarcely ever thinks of the divine justice of God.  The lost worldling thinks sin is a trifle. The blind worldling has lax ideas of divine justice.  The convinced sinner thinks God’s justice is like the stars of the sky, he cannot attain unto it or satisfy it.  Justice should punish me, for I am so great a sinner.  God is just, His anger and wrath troubles me.  God never forgives sin until He has first punished it, and if He forgives anyone, it is only because He has punished Christ first on behalf of that person.  God never forgives without first exacting the punishment.

The wrath of divine justice is atoned only by the bleeding Sufferer on the tree.  I deserve to die an eternal death, and Divine Justice demands that I should perish; but Jesus paid all the sinner owes.   Without the shedding of blood, nothing can appease God’s Divine Justice.  I am now clean, free, justified freely by His Blood.  The Law must first come to manifest to man his guilt, and to show him how guilty he really is, how vile his thoughts are, how ruined his soul is, and in how dangerous a position he is in before God.  Through the work of the Holy Spirit alone, the sinner discovers his danger and misery.  Human nature says, “I will try to do better, and then mercy will be given to me."

Perfect obedience to the Law in the future is impossible.  The Law says, “Unless you perfectly obey Me, you cannot be saved by your doings.”  One transgression will spoil your whole obedience.  You must have a spotless garment to wear into heaven.  Your doings and resolves are of no use whatsoever in the matter of Salvation.  Death is stalking you, Justice pursues you, Christ Crucified is the only password that can save you.  You have broken the great commands of God, and in consequence, the just God is bound in justice to punish you for the sins you have committed.  You have broken the divine law, and are now subject to divine justice and wrath, and stand in need of divine mercy through Divine Blood.

Salvation means to escape from the punishment of sins committed, as well as escaping from the habits and love of sin.  All your past sins must have vengeance.  Your sins have stirred up the wrath of God against you.  You are in grave danger outside of Christ. God is just, and the way of Substitution is the great plan of satisfying divine justice.  The God of inflexible justice requires sinless Blood; this is His way of Pardon.  The God of the Bible is inflexibly severe in justice, and will by no means clear the guilty.  You are in debt to God’s justice, and you owe to God’s vengeance eternal wrath and punishment.  Outside of Christ, you are in grave danger.  You deserve the infinite eternal wrath and displeasure of God.  Ungodly men defy the justice of God, that it is unjust that God should condemn men for the use of the powers which God Himself has given them.  God’s justice is vindicated and the guilty sinner pardoned simply through the Atoning Blood of Jesus.

Only the Precious Blood can vindicate divine justice.  Vindicate means to clear from guilt, accusation, blame; to exonerate from an accusation; to absolve, acquit, free from blame.  JEHOVAH will take the balances of justice and put His divine Law into one scale, and He will put you in the other.  Unless Christ is in your heart, you will be weighed in the balances and found wanting.  Your sin debt is huge and immense, but Jesus paid all that you owed, and because of Jesus' finished work there is not a penny due to the justice of God in the way of punishment.  After we are born again, we do owe God much gratitude and love, but we owe nothing to His justice.  Jesus Christ has offered an all-sufficient satisfaction for all the claims of God's injured justice.

God is sternly just, inflexibly severe in His dealings with sinful mankind; but He is also merciful and pitiful toward sinners.  Man thinks so little of his sin.  Either you must satisfy God, or Christ must.  For man’s sin God demands eternal punishment.  If you die in your sins, you will forever pay your debt to divine justice in the Lake of Fire, the Bible says so.  In Christ, we owe God a debt of love, but to justice we owe nothing.  Whosoever believeth in Jesus is entirely justified  from all guilt, and set free from all punishment, through what Jesus has already done and finished on Calvary's Cross.  Jesus has satisfied God's stern justice for me.

You're a sinner, and you cannot offer an Atonement that can satisfy God’s justice.  Give up all confidence in yourself.  As soon as you die, you will be summoned to God’s bar of divine justice.  Trust to the Gospel.  The blood of Jesus Christ enabled God to vindicate His justice, and yet have mercy upon the ungodly, that's you.  I am free from every demand of God’s vengeance.  You have sinned, God must punish you, for He is a God of justice.  But God in His infinite mercy has devised a way where He can have mercy upon the guilty and undeserving sinner.

Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, descended from heaven, begotten of the Holy Ghost, born of the Jewish virgin Mary, and lived a life of holiness, reproach, and suffering.  At the end of Jesus' short life, He offered up Himself to die for our sins.  The Just for the unjust to bring us to God.  The Plan of salvation simply declared  - Whosoever believeth in the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved from the love of sin and the wrath to come.  You have violated God’s law, disdained His mercy, and dared His vengeance.  But whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; and you're a sinner.  Whosoever cometh unto Jesus as a needy sinner, He will in no wise case out. *Hebrews 7:24-25*  Simply look to the bleeding dying Son of God, trust your soul entirely into the hands of Jesus Christ. *Acts 16:31* Take God at His word; Trust your soul to Christ Jesus, renounce your works, set your heart alone on the Mediator who gave Himself for sinners; and the result will be the indwelling presence and consolation of Christ Himself.  Then Fear the Lord, love His name, take vengeance on your sins, and hate all your evil thoughts and ways. *In Immensum Gloriantes In Cruce Sola*
