Emmanuel's Atonement 14

In your natural state, you cannot do any good works, you cannot serve or please God in your own strength.  You cannot do anything that can please God until you are born again.  Until you are born again, you cannot see or enter the kingdom of God, but still remain in the kingdom of darkness, your natural kingdom.  Sin is a very hateful thing to God.  The blood of Jesus Christ God's Son cleanseth us from all sin.  *I John 1:7* This is the great truth of the Gospel.  Jesus' Blood takes away the guilt and pollution of sin.

The moment you believe in Jesus, your sins are all gone forever, there is no piecemeal forgiveness of sins with God.  The moment a sinner simply believes in Jesus' Atonement, all of his sins -- past, present, and to come -- are all gone, and gone forever, never to be remembered again by the mind of God.  The Gospel remedy must be applied to your inward nature by the Holy Ghost.  The fountain of your inner being must be cleansed, the inward source of all sinful pollution.  No man can do this for himself. This is the wonderful work of grace, and the power of the Holy Ghost.

Jesus stood in our place that we might stand in His place.  Christ Jesus took our sins upon Himself, and being found with our sins upon Him, He bore the penalty that was due to them.  Substitution is the grandest of all scriptural truths.  For my transgressions was Jesus stricken. No better news can you tell a guilty sinner than that the Savior has taken his sins, and paid the full penalty for his sins. Jesus is the Christ of God, He took your sins, and bore them in His own body on the tree, and died in your place for those sins, the Just for the unjust in order to reconcile us to God.

Accept Jesus' Atonement now, and you are saved by it. This Atonement must be applied to the soul, but first, the sinner must show Jesus his wounds and the desperateness of his state, and then he begs for the divine surgery, then believes in Christ the Surgeon to do all the work needed to save his soul.  Rely upon Jesus Himself for all your Salvation.  Faith (trust) is the hand that brings the Medicine to your deadly sin wound. Trust yourself with Jesus who died for you and rose again from the dead.

Your days are running swiftly away, you are growing older, as each day passes, you are coming nearer and nearer to death.  If you conceal your sins, your soul will remain in a critical grave condition.  The natural man delights in his sins and indulges in his vile habits.  Let nothing of your own doing interfere with Jesus' divine remedy for human sin.  Prayer does not heal the soul, it only asks for the Remedy from Jesus.  Trust is only the application of the Great Remedy.  Repentance is not the cure, it is only a symptom that the blessed Medicine has begun its work and has healed the sin-sick soul.

You are not saved by your works, but His; not by your suffering and sacrifice, but His; not by your feelings, but by how He felt on Calvary; not your griefs, but His; not your tears, but His.  The divine Remedy is immediately effective the moment you trust Christ's Atonement. The guilty conscience is only satisfied with Christ's Precious Blood, it keeps the conscience quiet.  The Atonement also heals the heart of its love for sin.  The heart was in love with sin, but now it hates all iniquity.  Sin use to give us pleasure, but now it gives us pain.  We no longer hug our sins, but we long to be free from them.  We are changed within our nature as to our view of sin.  Death to sin, for Jesus died for my sin!

Tell everyone you can about the atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and the pardoning love of the Father. When you are born again, the immoral life will be changed, and you will follow after holiness and purity with eagerness.  Your soul is healed of its rebellion and enmity towards God.  Soberness, clean speech, honesty, kindness, humility, and diligence is given to the saved soul.  God calls you to leave your sins, to break off your sins by righteousness, and to accept His way of salvation through the Atonement of His Son Jesus Christ, to confess and forsake your sins, and to trust His dear Son to undo your sins.

Never think of self-salvation.  Take Jesus Christ to be all your Salvation.  Confess your guilt, seek God's mercy, accept pardon through Jesus' Precious Blood.  Yield and humble yourself before the Lord Jesus Christ.  Think on these things - The everlasting God, the world to come, Heaven and Hell, the person of Christ, His Atonement, the New Birth, the evil of sins, the delights and peace of holiness.

Sin put Christ Jesus to death and dug the pit of Hell, and brought curses upon the human race.  Receive Christ into your dead soul.  Human nature's way of Salvation is do, do, do; but God's way of Salvation is, Done, Done, it is all Done by Jesus.  Accept God's way of Salvation, rely by Faith upon the Atonement which Christ accomplished on the Cross with His own Precious Blood.  Trust alone in Christ's Atoning Blood now.  Believe on the Savior's Great Atonement.  Come now to the Incarnate God who died for your sins.  Salvation is altogether an inward matter, receive Christ into your heart, mind, and soul.  Jesus' Blood has made Atonement for your sins.  Jesus bore my sins and suffered my doom on Calvary's Cross.

The act of eating is entirely personal. Nobody can eat for you, you must personally for yourself partake of bread, the bread goes into yourself and becomes part of you.  The Lord Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life, must be received into your heart and soul by yourself, for yourself.  This cannot be done by proxy, it must be done personally, directly and distinctly by yourself.  Receive Christ by Faith into yourself.  This is very plain - as a man receives food and drink into His body to become part of himself, even so must every man receive the Lord Jesus Christ spiritually into himself, for himself, to be part of himself. The work of Salvation is distinctly inward.  We must receive Christ into our mind, heart, spirit, and soul.  We are to receive Christ and His Atonement into our innermost nature.  We are to receive Christ personally, inwardly, and actively.  Our feeding upon Christ spiritually will satisfy our soul's hunger.  Ye are complete in Him, perfectly satisfied with Christ Jesus.  Feed upon the Father's love, Christ's deity, humanity and atonement. Hate your sins, and prize Jesus' Atonement.

There's one valid reason why God should save you, only one - for Jesus' sake, because of His free gift of pure, unmerited grace. Jesus paid the recompense due to divine justice for my sins. God can justly save you only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. God is both Just and the Justifier of him that believeth in Jesus.  Immediate and everlasting salvation by simple faith in Jesus alone.  There is no salvation by your own doings.  Now remember, you were born alone, you'll have to die alone, you'll have to be judged alone, you must be born again alone, therefore, there must be for yourself a personal sense of sin and guilt, a personal seeking to Christ, a personal acceptance of free pardon through Jesus' Precious Blood.

Seek to be delivered from the terrible curse of sin now. Make a personal, complete, and searching examination into your own standing before God.  Own your sinfulness, appeal to the mercy of God, trust to Jesus now.  Put yourself where God's mercy can come to you, that is, in the place of the guilty, the worthless, in the place of those who merit divine wrath, and deserve nothing better, and then God will meet you in free mercy.  The LORD will give you His grace freely at the Cross, to those who believe in Jesus.

Turn now to the Crucified Creator.  The Atonement is only intended for the guilty.  Christ died for the guilty, I only have to trust His Atonement, Finished Work, Precious Blood, and I am instantly pardoned and saved. None but the penniless and guilty will value the divine Charity of God in Christ.  I am a sinner, I trust to the sinner's Savior.  Jesus bore the capital punishment pronounced upon the guilty, and now I can go free.  Sin was punished upon the Great Substitute (the Lamb of God), and put away sins forever for all those who will only trust Him.

The New Birth is the Holy Spirit implanting the life of God within your heart and mind.  The Holy Spirit helps us stand the wear and tear of this world's temptations, trials, and troubles; and to bear our present infirmities, and our struggles in this life.   Shut sin out from your heart and thoughts, strive by the grace and help of God to quit your sinful habits.  After you are born again, keep an eager desire for more grace, and a more simple love to Jesus.  Commit to Jesus your soul, and do not have any claim to yourself again.  Let Jesus have His way with your body and life.
