Are you ashamed of and sorry for sinning? If not, you are a miserable, dirty dog. Come clean and change for the good and Jesus Christ. If I have to check Jesus Christ at the door, I won't go in. Political parties, labor organizations, and religious circles are very similar. The Christ rejecter sells Jesus Christ out and betrays Him in order to gain the things of this world. Every time this world applauds some man, the blood of Jesus Christ spatters from their hands. The government (Pilate) and religion (Pharisees) both rejected Jesus Christ. Government always takes the way of convenience instead of morality. There is a plain choice for you every day between right and convenience. We should be determined and choose right instead of convenience.
There are only two alternatives for any country or individual - Jesus Christ or chaos - the Bible or ruin. The only person big enough to save any sinner or America is Jesus. The world thinks more of position than the fear and honor of God. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? Jesus will take anyone who comes to Him for mercy. Look into His face and yield to Him now. Position will never make you happy, unless Jesus puts you in that position. The only real free people are born again children of God in Jesus Christ.
All the sins of the whole world were bundled up and put on Jesus Christ on the Cross. Jesus died especially for your sins. The man who is not afraid of his sins will soon be damned. Adam in the beginning in the garden of God believed the devil’s lie. Here's the devil's lie: "You can be something, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to, be like God. Make something out of yourself. You can be a god yourself. Strut your stuff, be somebody, how off, make the headlines."
Let God's appointments be your contentment. Be mindful of the weightier matters of Eternity. You have no right to have any ambition to be anything except for what God Almighty wants you to be. Why do you want it if you shouldn’t have it? The love of sin will cost you your soul. If you hug your sins, they will damn your soul forever. Don't be worldly, carnal, lethargic, careless, half-hearted, slothful, or lustful. Reject flesh-pleasing, carnal, worldly habits.
Cain’s religion is do and live. Abel’s religion is believe and live, and then do for the glory of God, not to help save yourself, but simply out of gratitude to Jesus for bleeding and dying for you. Man is incapable of building anything that will last. The atheist depends on the whims of man. Human degeneracy and depravity has no hope. Everything man does is filled with wreck, ruin, destruction, and chaos. He that doeth the will of God abideth forever. You have only one responsibility – do the will of God in your life; that’s all that counts, that’s the way to victory, that’s the way to eternal achievement, that’s the way to everlasting success, that's God’s way, that’s the only way. Thy will O God, be done in my life - God help me to mean it.
Vain is the help of man. All the help you get ultimately comes from God. Charity (I Corinthians 13) has a tendency to cover up people's mistakes and flaws, not pull out and dangle, not to dig up the past and shake old skeletons at people. Man can’t hurt you, and man can’t help you. God’s in control. Be faithful, true, dedicated, yielded, altogether on God’s side. God, please help us to get on your side, and not try to pull you over on our side.
Christ appeared the first time to take away sin, and Christ will soon appear again to take away His people. You can’t hurry God along; God sets the pace. All men who are not saved are the enemies of Christ. You are either His friend or foe, it is impossible to be neutral, there’s no middle ground when it comes to Jesus Christ. Heaven is one direction, and Hell is in the other direction, and you can't go both ways at the same time, it just can’t be done. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. You can’t be for Jesus until you are saved. You may think Jesus is all right, Pilate did, but then he had Jesus crucified to save face with sinful men. You’re not Christ’s friend, if you don’t obey Him and confess Him. You would stand by your friend, right? There’s no neutral position. Trust, adore, and magnify Christ.
The devil is not a creator, he is a counterfeiter, he is a destroyer. A good thing that is not used to glorify God is a bad thing. Never abuse the grace, kindness and long-suffering of God. You can use the Bible the wrong way; a religionist will take one verse and cut his own spiritual throat with it. A man that doesn’t give God first place in his life is a fool. Enjoy life, have a good time, but try your best to glorify God in all you say and do. You can’t satisfy yourself with material things. A man ought to want God's presence and blessing more than anything. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you. Let your light shine for Jesus' sake. Make God and His will for your life first. God’s will for you is the best thing that could ever happen to you. Put God first in all your relationships; choose godly friends that love Jesus. Nothing will be right in your life until God is first. Turn everything over to God, and put Him first, always remember Him.
Set your affections on the sweet by and by, but still do what's required in the nasty now and now. Look unto Jesus, watch for His coming. Man walked out on God in the Garden of Eden. You can never be happy in your sins. You can’t buy happiness with money or religion. We start out in a cradle crying, and we end up in a coffin with everyone else crying. Faith in God's Son is the real beginning of life. Give God His proper place - first place. Man can’t fix his sin problem with a religion. Man tries to make death beautiful. I just don’t know what folks do in trials and suffering without Jesus Christ. It’s not easy being a Christian, but it’s not as bad as going to Hell. The fingers of time will soon pinch your face full of wrinkles, and makeup and powder won’t get rid of them. Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. My grace is sufficient for thee.
Simplicity is truth’s most becoming garb. These things I write unto you that ye sin not. Never condone or justify wrongdoing. The tendency of human nature is to justify our wrongdoing. What sin do you have to commit? Stop condoning your sins. If you keep a fault that you could get rid of, it becomes a sin will control you. He that is born of God doth not commit sin. Don’t practice sin. A Christian may sin, but he won’t enjoy it. You can’t earn salvation, and you can’t help pay for it after you get it.
Fear, honor, and reverence God; magnify His Son will all you've got. If you have to ask what’s the harm in anything, you better let it alone; it’s not right. If the thing you want most is to go God’s way and do God’s will, you’ll be just fine. High ground is when you love Jesus, and He is everything to you. High ground is saying, "Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?" Enjoy and get pleasure out of doing things for God. Wear clothes that don't attract attention to you. Have some sense about you.
If you live as you please, and do your own thing, you will end up slaves to your pride, passions, pride, and appetites. Surrender fully to Jesus Christ. Seek liberty and strength from Christ and His Spirit. Comfort the saints, make sinners uncomfortable. By the grace of God, throw off those grave clothes, and rise up and walk in newness of life. Glory in tribulation, don’t flinch - that’s high ground. The Book of James is the graduate course in Christianity; study James closely.
