The burning fever of your lust, greed, and pride will soon damn you; only Jesus can make you pure and honest and humble within. The Great Medicine for all your soul's diseases is found at the Cross. The available, all-sufficient remedy is in the hand of Christ. Jesus' love and blood can cure all sorts of vile habits. Your only plea with Christ is your guilt. The Holy Spirit is the Great Physician's probing instrument. The sole object of real faith is Christ Jesus as the Substitute for sinners. The Lord's Medicine is only offered to the sick sinner; a healthy self-righteous man will never take Christ's medicine. Your sickness is your fitness for free care from the Great Physician. Come to Mercy Hospital and be healed freely now. There is no human medicine that will heal all physical diseases. But there is a heavenly medicine that will heal all of your spiritual diseases. The Great Pharmacy of the Scriptures is filled with soul medicine - examine and search the medicine cabinet of the Scriptures closely now for your soul's great need (John 3, Romans 3).
Stop trying to trudge your way to Heaven, Christ will carry you to Safety on His shoulders. Call upon Him in truth and He will save your soul. One of two things, either you must be saved without deserving to be saved - saved completely and freely by the works of Another - or else you must keep the whole Law, and so inherit heaven of your own right and merit. You must be willing to come to Christ, just as you are without any preparation, just simply as a vile sinner, and receive Christ's Atonement freely, and your guilt will be put away by Christ's power. God will accept you, and you are a pardoned man. A rich man will never accept the Charity of heaven - only poor sinners take Christ's Charity. The only thing you'll ever deserve is Hell. Christ's medicine is only given out freely to needy sinners; you can never earn it or deserve it, so just *GIVE UP* trying to impress God with your own self-righteousness. Just as a sick and wounded patient yields himself completely over to a Doctor, yield your sinful soul completely over to Christ Jesus now, and He will do for you what you cannot do for yourself. Just BE STILL, and know that Jesus is God.
It is either Christ or Hell for you this day. If you don't let Christ Jesus save you, you are a lost man. If the Cross is not all your salvation, the gates of hell must soon close upon you. It will either be Christ Jesus or perdition for you. Yield and submit to Christ's Righteousness and Blood. Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Lay hold on Christ now by simple faith in His soul-saving blood. No sinner will seek mercy until he senses his need of a Savior. JESUS is your first, your last, your only hope. Away to the Cross, cling to the Lamb of God bleeding and dying, there is hope there, there is sure refuge for your soul at the Cross of Calvary. Make Jesus' finished work all your salvation and all your desire.
