Run and Hide

A farmer once looked at what was left of his farm after a forest fire had destroyed everything. Dead chickens lay on the ground, they were unable to escape the fast-moving, ravaging flames. The farmer bent down to pick up one of the dead chickens, and to his amazement, he found a number of chicks sheltering under the wings of their mother. The chicks did nothing to help save themselves but just "run and hide".  The mother hen had instinctively spread her wings to save her beloved offspring.

That's what God did for us in Jesus Christ on Calvary's Cross. Jesus likened the love of God to a chicken gathering her chicks under her wings (See Matthew 23:37). It is there under the wings of Grace at the Cross, that we receive shelter from the devouring flames of the wrath of a holy God. It is under the shelter of the wings of mercy that we are safe from the fury of God's Eternal Justice. "Run and hide" under the Lamb of God at the Cross today.  The Man who died on Calvary was God; He shed God's precious blood especially for you.  Your sins must be punished or pardoned.  Jesus must save you entirely, or you must die in your sins.
