Hold On To This (1)

Christ died for the ungodly. Whosoever believeth in Jesus is justified from all things. Whosoever believeth in Him is not condemned. All sinners are going to Hell, they need Jesus. But God so loved sinners, He gave His dear Son, Jesus Christ, to bleed and die for us sinners. Jesus was God in the flesh, He rose from the dead. A sinner cannot save Himself. Only Jesus can save sinners by Grace through Faith in His Atoning Blood. Hold you to that, and come what may, it will be well with your soul both now, in the end, and out into Eternity.

Hearty reliance upon God, and a childlike confidence in Jesus. Be as good as you may, but without Christ's Righteousness, you are still dead in your sins. Do all the good works you can, but never trust to them. Trust only to the Savior, the sin-bearing Savior, the sin-atoning Savior. There is nothing or no one else for a sinner to trust to. Sin burdens are lifted at Calvary. Human sin can only be pardoned through the atoning blood of the Son of God.

Your faith must be founded on the Lamb of God's atoning Sacrifice. Christ died on Calvary, atoning for human sin.  Faith in Christ alone, His atoning Sacrifice, salvation by Faith in the Precious Blood of Christ. Trust only to His Atoning Blood. Lean hard on God manifest in the flesh. *I Timothy 3:16* In Jesus we Hope. Meditate on the person of Christ, God and man in one person, Immanuel, God with us. Think much on His finished work, especially His wounds and blood. Muse on His promises and grace, think on Him, pray to Him, take to begging at the Savior's feet. Fall down at His feet, accept Him, trust Him as the Giver and the Forgiver, He saves from eternal death and imparts eternal life freely.  You can put that down.

Human nature says, "All religions are basically the same, they all contain some truth, and all men are basically working to get to the same place." A child naturally comes to its mother. A thirsty man instinctly comes to a water fountain.  A hungry man quickly comes to a dinner table. A dog comes to his master with his tail wagging. A heavy laden, laboring, needy sinner will come directly to Jesus. Coming to Jesus is a very simple action indeed:  you must come away from something, and come to Someone.

Come away from everything else you are trusting to. Leave all other confidences you have altogether. To go to a place, I must go from a place. Come away from all trust in your works to Christ's works. Let go of your old trusts. You must come to Jesus, or you will be damned; quit your love of sin and all trust in your own righteousness. Stop dodging and ducking the real issue - receiving Christ as your personal Savior from the sins you love. Bid goodbye to your old sins, say farewell to your own righteousness.

Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Get on the right side of the war. Right now, you are warring against your Maker. You need to file for Divorce from your Sin which you have loved on for so many years. Do not neglect Jesus, think much of Him, trust to His atoning blood, center and fix all your hope in Him, mentally and spiritually and actually come to Him and receive Him. Real faith is feeding on Christ and His words. Never kiss up to a world which is hostile to God and His Son. Jesus suffered in your place. God's words are enough for me. The Bible is always right, and you are always wrong.  Simply hear the Gospel, and believe on Jesus with all your heart. Prayer is simply asking God for what you really think and feel you need within your heart, mind, and soul. The Blood of Jesus is greater than your vilest sin, and His Blood is stronger that your inward sinful corruptions and depravity. Tremble and fear of the divine justice your sins have provoked.

Hold on to this with a death grip - Trust Jesus' Blood, quit your sins, follow Jesus practically in your daily behavior, wins souls over to Him.  Rest upon the Sure Foundation - trust alone in the Crucified One - His Atoning Sacrifice - His Justifying Righteousness. Come and lay your love for sin down at the feet of the Great Redeemer. Leave your deadly doings at the Cross. Quit your wicked thinking and evil ways asap. Quit your sins before you become comfortable in them. Stop lingering in your lusts. Quit your false imaginary righteousness which the Bible calls dung and filthy rags. Appeal to God's mercy only in Jesus. Wisdom is to know yourself a sinner, and Jesus the Savior.

Here is the true fear of God - be sorry for your sins, see the wrong in them, and then depart from and quit them. Quit self, and begin with Jesus. Awake from your fatal stupor, deadly peace, and suicidal slumber. It is wisest and safest to plead for Mercy. Plead your defilement, evil habits, guilt, condemnation, spiritual death, wretchedness, hardness of heart, inward corruptions, and vile thought life. Human nature always casts doubt on the word of God and Christ's Gospel. Let your reliance upon Jesus be without reserve. *John 1:12* Reception of Jesus Himself inwardly into your being by Faith is the only way. Make Jesus the Cornerstone and Capstone of your Faith. The plan of salvation is so very simple - Christ Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the whole world on the Cross, and became Sin and a Curse for us, so that we wouldn't have to be punished for our sins. If you'll take Jesus, He'll take you. That's all there is to it.

Salvation means to quit your own self, and your vain trusts, and then simply to rely upon the Person and Work of God manifest in the flesh, Christ Jesus. The safest truth is always the simplest. Self-reliance or Christ-reliance? Reliance upon self dies instantly at the Cross. Seek inward and spiritual grace from God. Quit your hold on sin, lay hold on Jesus as tenaciously as you grip your sins. You can only come to God through the holy Mediator. *I Timothy 2:4-6* Only the Blood of Jesus can wash your soul from the guilt and power of sin. Put sin down and put Christ up. Hold to faith in the Cross alone. The Lamb of God is the center of the Gospel.

Christ's Deity, Atoning Blood, Imputed Righteousness, Free Eternal Life. Think on this, make the Lamb of God and His Bloody Sacrifice your central thought throughout the day. Secret sighs and mourning over sins, private prayers, silent praises, deep reverence, confessions of sins, true repentance, humble gratitude, hearty thanksgivings, ceaseless adoration, sincere consecration, loving and longings for the Savior, delighting in Him, trusting His promises, looking to His atoning Blood, inmost soul rejoicing in His name, and secret thoughts about Jesus.

Be watchful with godly fear. Ask God for a sensitivity to sin, a pain to feel it when it is near. Resist the first approach of pride, lustful desire, or the wandering of the will. Only the Holy Ghost and the Blood of Christ can quench the kindling fire of temptation and sin. Don't stray from God, or grieve His goodness. Love to God, hatred of sins, private purity, public holiness, self-denial, self-sacrifice. Feed the sheep, beat the goats. Be willing to have Christ, Cross and all; give up all to Christ; do what God bids you, as He bids you, when He bids you, and simply because He bids you; be prepared to endure hardness for Christ's sake; put away everything that would displease the Lord.

Pray without ceasing - prayer is the soul speaking to dealing with God. Direct all sinners' attention to the Lamb of God. In Christ we Trust. Under God we prosper. Ask God for His fear and a tender conscience. Lord, make my heart as quick as the apple of my eye; alert my soul when sin is near, and keep me awake. Lord Jesus, lead me quickly back to You and your Precious Blood when I sin against You.

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. My cup runneth over with gratitude to Jesus for His free and full Salvation. Follow Jesus watchfully, seek the daily renewing of your mind by the Holy Ghost. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Grow in grace, sin less and less, repent quicker, forgive as soon as possible. Wear the red cross on your sleeve, by avowing your faith in Christ's Atoning Blood.  My testimony - I had a soul once, but I lost it in my sins, but Christ Jesus found it, so I just let Him keep it forever. That is all.
