Only real sinners need a real Atonement. The one that has no merit will listen with eagerness to the glad tidings of Mercy to him. He that has no money is the man that will take Christ's money. He that is freezing in the cold night of sin seeks to be clothed. A wretched sinner jumps at Mercy like a hungry bass leaps at the bait. The empty, penniless soul will prize and praise God's mercy. Prize the mercy which cost Jesus so dear. Atonement by Sacrifice, Propitiation by Substitution. Do not look within yourself for merit, for you have none, but look to Jesus. God will bless you apart from human merit, according to the Atonement of Christ Jesus. You are invited to come, not because you are good, but because you are evil and hopeless. How can my sins be forgiven? *Acts 16:31* God asks you of no works, but only be willing to accept what He most freely gives to needy sinners. God saves upon believing, not working. This is Faith - believing Jesus is God Incarnate atoning for your sins, and then trusting yourself with Him. *John 1:12* *Romans 4:16* Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by Grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed. By the Atonement God's mercy can now be justly bestowed on the ungodly. God accepts all sinners who place their trust solely in Christ's Atonement. Faith in His blood is the way of salvation, that it may be all of Grace. The blood of Jesus pardons and sanctifies. The free pardon of sin cost my Best Friend His life. Jesus is the Way - He is the Atonement. Sin's only antidote is the atoning blood of God's Son.
God is ready to forgive you for Jesus' sake, because He delights in mercy. My God please forgive me! Thee must be a brokenness, a tenderness towards God if we expect Reconciliation with God. You cannot offer anything by which you can turn away divine justice. Prize His Atonement, the sweetness of atonement by blood. Human oratory and human reason is vain. You need a miracle to make any man realize that he is indeed a sinner. He will not acknowledge it. He kicks against that truth. The only way to safely meet the God of the Bible is through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
The inward heinousness of guilt can only be washed away by Jesus' atoning blood. The sinner is stunned, confounded, humbled by the fact that he is a rebel against God. The Divine Law bruises, breaks, crushes, and kills our self-righteousness. The justice of God must punish our sins. It is utterly impossible to clear ourselves by works. The Holy Spirit must wean you from al thoughts of a righteousness of your own. Abhor the very thought or notion of justifying yourself in the sight of a pure holy God by your works. Religionists don't realize they are sinners indeed; they have high conceits of their own excellence before God.
I am going to Heaven through Christ's suffering, blood, death, through Atonement and Righteousness, Sacrifice, Substitution, Resurrection. Blessed be the name of Jesus, our Substitute, we can and do trust Him. Rely upon His Atonement now. Christ's Propitiation must be accepted as full and complete, and His Righteousness we are to wear as our own. Jesus' Perfect Atonement made a complete vindication of divine justice, by His sufferings and bloody death. Whosoever makes the life and death and blood of God's great Propitiation to be His sole reliance and confidence is justified in the sight of God, and written down in the Lamb's book of life. *Acts 13:38-39* Our only staff to lean upon is the Savior and His Atonement. God's everlasting love, the Son's atonement, the Holy Spirit's indwelling. As guilty sinners, we trust only to the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Christ is All.
Run into Christ's arms, grasp His promise, flee to Calvary for Mercy. Trust at the Cross in His full Atonement. His Atonement is all my acceptance with God. God's words are my only plea. Jesus is my Reconciliation to God. God sent His own Son to be my Mediator. Jesus is the Reconciler and the Reconciliation. God required a perfect Sacrifice for He is just and holy. And God provided HImself in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. JEHOVAH found the Ransom He demanded, it was His own Son. Jesus is the Propitiation for our sins. Jesus is the Reconciliation between God and men. In order that there might be peace and love between God and men, God Himself became the Atonement for human sin. Always seek Reconciliation with those that have wronged you. Have right thoughts of God. Come to Jesus at once for Reconciliation with God.
There is free forgiveness with God, for He delighteth in Mercy. The Lord is good, and is there is forgiveness with Him. He that was offended provided the Reconciliation. God only had one Son, and He took that Son from His bosom, and sent Him to earth to die for His enemies, the Just for the unjust, to bring us to God. JEHOVAH gave up His Son for sinners. God is now able to deal with guilty men in a way of pure Mercy, altogether apart from their merits, because their sins were laid on Christ, Who has offered to divine justice a complete Satisfaction, and now God is glorious in holiness, and yet rich in Mercy. Come to the Cross, bring all your bills and debts and let God's infinite grace write upon them all "Cancelled"!
