Atonement means to make amends of reparation for a sinner's crimes against God. By Jesus' Blood Atonement alone, I am eternally delivered from the wrath to come. *I Thessalonians 1:10* God justifies the ungodly, and accepts wicked sinners only through His dear Son's Atoning Blood. Dear soul, fix your faith in the Atonement - the Atonement made by the personal Sacrifice of the Son of God which is infinitely precious. It is your soul's safety to flee to Christ's Atonement and cleave to the Cross. There is Atonement for the guilty in the blood of Jesus Christ. Pardon by Blood is only for the guilty. To think lightly of sin leads to your soul being doomed.
Simple reliance upon Christ's Atonement and imputed Righteousness. Learn more and more of the excellence and completeness of the Atonement. You are the one to blame for Jesus Christ's bloody death, for your sins caused all His pain and agony. We are filthy and loathsome in the sight of God, only fit to be cast into the lowest Hell. If you are a Christ rejecter, the Blood of Jesus Christ is on your hands. Christ my Substitute quenched divine wrath for me, He exhausted divine justice by being made a Curse for me. The pure Gospel threatens a man's sins, that's why men avoid the Gospel. The Gospel light reveals a man's sin problem, and flees from the light into his darkness which he loves. *John 3:19-20* Do the first and best work, repair to the Savior.
Mercy flows from Christ's atoning blood. If you reject Christ's Precious Blood, you must suffer for your sins. Here are the fruits of Christ rejection - misspent life, rejected Savior, love of sin, self-righteousness, gall of bitterness, bond of iniquity, Hell, Lake of Fire. Somewhere in your past you have willfully, presumptuously, and against your own conscience rejected Christ and refused eternal life. If you die rejecting Christ's mercy and blood, your sins and unbelief will condemn you to misery and woe for Eternity. Reconciliation to the offended Maker by Christ's Blood and Righteousness. The great quarrel between you and God can only be ended at the Cross. The aching void within your soul can only be filled by Christ Himself.
Plead the pardoning Blood of Jesus now. God's pardoning grace and delivering mercy is needed by all us sinners. Sincerely confess your sins, heartily hate your sins, fervently love the Savior. Turn unto God through Jesus Christ, trusting in the Precious Blood of His Atonement. Full Atonement, Sufficient Ransom, Immediate Reconciliation. Jesus lived a perfect life, this is my Righteousness; Jesus died a bloody death, this is my Pardon. Jesus is alive now, I trust my soul into His hands eternally. Mix faith with the Gospel always. Trust in Jesus' Blood for everlasting life. Appropriate Christ Himself to yourself by childlike faith in His finished work on Calvary's Cross. Mix faith with every precious promise in the Bible. Heartily accept the Atonement - this is the available way of salvation. Set the Atonement in the middle of your heart. Accept Jesus as your Substitute. Sin necessitates death; the penalty of sin is death, that's why Jesus died. If Christ is not your Atonement, He is nothing to you. Christ's death was Substitution for guilty sinners.
The Lord Jesus Christ came into this world to make Reconciliation between God and sinful men by His bloody atoning death. Jesus died in the place of guilty men. Jesus was slain in the sinner's place. Cling to the great truth of His vicarious, sinless Sacrifice. The very heart of the Gospel is Atonement by Christ's Blood. All of my sins' consequences fell upon the innocent head of the great Substitute of Calvary. The black thunder clouds of God's wrath emptied themselves upon Christ's soul for my sake. Jesus voluntarily put Himself in my place, so I could go free. Out of infinite love, Jesus became an offering for human sin. Jesus became the sin-offering for the sinner, that the sinner might be made the Righteousness of God in Him. Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree. Come to Jesus, rest in His wounds, make His blood your covering, shelter beneath His finished work. Reconciliation comes to sinners by Jesus Christ, there will never be another way to be reconciled to God. There is one Atonement by Blood and only one.
Salvation by works requires that your works be perfect throughout all your life, and yours have not been so. Your works have been imperfect, they are still imperfect, and they will be imperfect till you die. You cannot stand on the footing of human merit for one minute. Human nature says, "Salvation is obtained by working at it, doing your best, being sincere, and then everything will be fine." This is the sure way to Hell. Self-righteous men look for salvation by their own obedience and sincerity. Self-salvation is human nature's hope, salvation by doings, something or other of your own - this is the favorite delusion of Christ rejectors. The Gospel is so simple, so just to God, so safe for man. Self-righteousness is an insult to Christ, and a revolt from God. The fall of Adam, original sin, imputed Righteousness, inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, Atoning Blood, Deity of Christ, Free Salvation by Faith in His Blood.
Faith in Jesus quenches the soul's thirst. The horror of sinning against a forgiving Savior should trouble you. This is the great saving truth - Atonement by Substitution. All you can do will never be enough to please the Holiness of God, but what Jesus did for you, pleases God completely. The finished Redemption - sin was laid on Jesus that it might be forever removed from whosoever believeth in Jesus. *II Corinthians 5:21* Ye must be born again, whosoever believeth in Jesus is not condemned. You and your sins are obnoxious to God. From a sinner comes nothing but sin: an evil tree can only bring forth evil fruit, and a polluted stream can only pour forth polluted waters.
It is vain for you to think that you can do anything that is pleasing to God until you are first of all reconciled to God by the Precious Blood of Jesus. The way of Reconciliation is only by Jesus Christ. You must first be personally acceptable to God through Jesus Christ, or everything you do is displeasing to God. Human goodness and respectable sins lead men off into perdition. You need Reconciliation to your offended Maker. Jesus can cleanse the guilty, and He receives the lost. The Gospel is for the ungodly, not for people of quality. Jesus died instead of the guilty. He suffered God's wrath in the sinner's place. Jesus gave Himself to die in your place as a sinless Substitute.
We are saved freely by Grace, gratis, for nothing. Our sins are freely pardoned according to the free mercies of God in Christ. To be flattered is a lost man's greatest delight, for his god is himself. To make money is his highest goal, for the dollar is his god. Human natures dreads insignificance and mortality, and ignores reality. Whatever is your greatest joy and treasure, that is your god. What you think of first thing in the morning, and before you go to bed at night, that is your god. What you strive to gain each day, that is your god. If you are neglecting Jesus Christ, then there is some hidden evil within, some evil habit, that is keeping you from Him. Most folks today love a Jesus of their own imagining, not the Jesus of the New Testament Scriptures. Love and worship the Holy Bible JESUS.
The Atonement is only for the guilty. *Romans 5:11* Christ died for the ungodly. Mercy seeks after the guilty, and Grace seeks the wicked. God bestows His abundant pardon upon the guilty for Jesus' sake. Jesus voluntarily became the Substitute for the guilty. He suffered the wrath of God and tasted death for every man. Holiness is the greatest terror in the mind of the ungodly man. It terrifies him to think that he may have to give up his sins in order to obtain eternal life. The infinite mercy of God has gone to the utmost lengths to save sinners in giving the Savior to bleed and die. Only Jesus' blood can put broken hearts back together. Your main business is to stay yourself upon Jesus, closing with Jesus' person and blood should be your sole concern. Unbelief leads a man to deny the Creator and worship the creature, which is always idolatry and folly. Now understand - It is the Holy Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing. The believer's standing in Christ is Perfection; but his day-to-day state is fickle.
