Consider HIM
that endured such contradiction
of sinners against Himself,
lest ye be wearied and
faint in your own minds.
The natural man thinks he is great, but there was only one GREAT MAN in human history: The Man Christ Jesus. The Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts is His name. (Jeremiah 32:18). The GREAT God and Saviour JESUS CHRIST. (Titus 2:13) May the Holy Spirit give you ears to clearly hear and eyes to truly see the Lamb of God which taketh the sin of the world. Here is the very best news that will ever reach your ears, and hopefully your heart as well. May God the Holy Spirit impress these exceeding great and precious promises upon your mind and heart. In this was manifested the Love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might LIVE through HIM. Herein is LOVE, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the Propitiation for our sins. JESUS made Peace through the Blood of His Cross.
The Father sent His Son, the Son suffered as the Substitute for sinners, bore our sins, and was punished in our place. The Father must now accept the Son's sinless Atonement and allow sinners who believe on His Name to go Free, because Christ paid for their sins with His own Blood. The Precious Blood will now pardon and cleanse sinners, and the redeemed sinner must now be accepted before the presence of God the Father, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE.
Christ Jesus came in the flesh, Who is over all, God blessed for ever. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was sent by the FATHER to Earth to be the Saviour of the world. JESUS left the highest throne in the universe; He condescended from the azure of His divine glory, and stooped to Bethlehem's manger. JESUS was equal to His Father, but He condescended to our low estate, and became the man Christ Jesus with flesh and blood and bones. He lived here 33 years and always went about doing deeds of kindness and compassion. The man Christ Jesus bore your sins and died on Calvary's accursed tree of doom; He was buried, rose again, ascended into heaven, and sat down on the right hand of God, and will judge the quick and the dead at the day of Judgment. Christ Jesus claims now that you must believe on Him and yield obedience to Him.
Christ Jesus is The Lamb of God. The Father made JESUS' Soul an offering for human sin; He was the sinner's Substitute; He FINISHED the full Blood Atonement to pay for all human sins. The Father longed to save sinners, and be Kind and Merciful to His enemies; but His own Justice tied His Holy hands. Divine Justice shouted, "Vengeance, Wrath, Recompense!" God must be Just, but His Heart desired to Forgive, and to pass by man's transgressions and pardon them freely by His Grace. But how can God be Just, and yet the Justifier of the ungodly? How could it be done? The Wisdom of God stepped in with the Answer, and Love agreed with Wisdom. Christ Jesus, the Son of God, shall stand in the sinner's place, and shall be offered as the Sin Offering/Atonement upon Mount Calvary instead of the Sinner. JESUS actually bore our sins, and literally suffered the Penalty due to our sins, and now God can Just, and yet still be the Justifier of ungodly, FOR JESUS' SAKE. Now the Precious Blood of God Incarnate cries justly, "Mercy! Grace! Pardon, Acceptance, Father Forgive Him!" The Precious Blood of Christ frees the sinner from every demand of God's Vengeance and Wrath.
JESUS' Soul was exceeding sorrowful, even unto death. He sweat as it were great drops of blood, falling down to the ground in the Garden of Gethsemane. All His disciples forsook Him, and He was given over to His enemies, given over to mockery and shame and torture. He was seized by the mob and a traitor; sinners bound the Almighty's hands, and He was hurried through the streets and dragged away to judgment, condemned before the Sanhedrin, mocked and reviled before Herod, and tried and condemned by Pilate. JESUS endured contemptuous, filthy spit running down His cheeks, as the soldiers treated Him with fiendish malice. He was despised and rejected of men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, the most grievous spectacle ever witnessed by human eyes. JESUS was made in the likeness of men, and being found in fashion as a man, He agreed to stand in the place of sinners and yielded to be treated and punished, as if He was the worst of sinners. He became the Personification of Sin as He hung nailed to the cross, stripped naked for all to see in broad daylight. JESUS stood in the sinner's place; He was mocked, jeered, despised, crowned with thorns. The cruel eulogy given for Jesus as He was dying in agony was coarse laughter and mockery.
The world thinks nothing of Christ, it ridicules and despises Him. His death sentence was screamed in the streets by the howling mob: "Away with Him; Let Him be crucified!" They made His back bare, tied Him to the column, and the soldiers whipped Him with their bloody scourge, and ploughed furrows on His back, until His back was one stream of red blood. Then the soldiers put a purple robe on Him, blindfolded Him, plucked off His hair, and smote Him; His visage is more marred than any other man; marred by agony and grief without parallel; The soldiers spit in their Creator's precious face, plaited a crown of thorns, and pressed it into His temples; the soldiers bowed their knees, and mocked and shamefully entreated Him. It pleased the LORD to bruise JESUS; The Father hath put JESUS to grief; His Soul was made an Sin offering to pay my sins. When He was reviled, He reviled not again. He offered up Himself.
WONDERFUL is JESUS' name: Matchless Love led Him to suffer for sinners; Matchless Power enabled Him to endure full weight of His Father's wrath; Matchless Justice made Him yield to His Father's will, so sinners might be justified; Matchless Mercy made Him bleed for His enemies. The soldiers led Him away to Golgotha to be crucified as a condemned criminal; they delivered Him up for blasphemy. Hungry and crushed with agony in His heart under weight of Sin, they urged Him on through the streets until He reached the place of His execution, the hill of doom called Calvary, without the gate of Jerusalem. There were three crosses on the summit of the hill that day. The center cross is always reserved for the greatest criminal; this is where JESUS was nailed. Incarnate Deity was numbered with the transgressors and common criminals. He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death. He submitted Himself to His enemies. The soldiers seize and throw Him onto the cross laying beneath Him, they stretch out His arms, they grasp the hammers and nails, they drive the four nails through His hands and feet; The cross is lifted up by the brute soldiers and dropped into the socket dug for it, the cross falls into place, and there the Cross stands. The LORD laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
This is the divine riddle called the Gospel: God manifested in the flesh crucified by sinful men, so they could be pardoned. JESUS died in an agony too horrible to be imagined or described. The vile mob is hooting at Him all the time He is dying. The Savior's limbs quiver, His bones are out of joint, He weeps, sighs and sobs; He hangs there broiling in the sun's heat between heaven and earth, dying by inches, laying down His life for the ungodly, bleeding, writhing in anguish, and thirsty. Suddenly JESUS shrieks in agony, "My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken Me!" The Pharisees walk around the cross and with their lascivious cruel tongues; they taunt and jeer and scorn Him in the extreme of His agonies: "He saved others: Himself He cannot save." The Sun eclipsed and the whole Earth was darkened; the very Sun had to hide his face from the horrors of JESUS' sufferings; the darkness of Sin that JESUS was bearing put the light of the Sun out. The cruelest deed ever committed by heinous human nature was murdering the Lamb of God. The earth quaked, the veil of the temple, and even the rocks rent when the Creator died for sinners. Never man died like this Man. JESUS knew no sin, in Him was no sin, but He endured the eternal torments of hell inwardly in His Innocent soul during these six hours on the Cross. Do ye now believe? JESUS Himself bore your sins in His own body on the tree, and endured unspeakable misery in your stead. The Incarnated God suffered all the pangs and miseries of millions of hells that every sinner deserved. JESUS suffered all the horrors of Hell; The black cloud of God's Vengeance emptied itself over Calvary with pelting rain, vicious hailstones, wrathful whirlwind, and frightful thunderbolts. All the Wrath of God was poured into one black cup, and JESUS drank Damnation dry, every bitter drop He swallowed down. The cup of Wrath is empty now; for JESUS drank it dry to the last drop, and He endured the shame and suffering that was due to my sins. By the Grace of God, JESUS tasted death for every sinner on the Cross. See there on Calvary's Cross, the dear Lamb of God, the sinner's Substitute, the great Atonement finished, the utmost Ransom paid in full. Only His Precious Blood has power to pardon and justify sinners. All the stars of the universe will cease to shine, before the Power of JESUS' BLOOD dies out. God has accepted JESUS' sufferings, JESUS' bloody death enables God the Father to vindicate His unrelenting Justice, and yet have mercy upon sinners like me and you.
JESUS willingly faced scoffs and jeers, insignificant and trifling, cruel mockery, detestable loathsome disgusting conduct, and fresh insults. Their evil conscience made them very bitter against the innocent Savior, because they were evil to the core; His being Good was a protest to their wicked deeds. They strip Christ of His deity, righteousness, atonement, pure words. Your unbelief shows enmity to Christ, you make a caricature the gospel, and give JESUS the cold shoulder, your heart is far from God in your pretended worship. In the smear, veneer and varnish of pretended religion, the heathen Pharisees rage. They cruelly put Jesus to shame with filthy jests, the lily among the thorns, the object of their derision. The vulgar indecent soldiers, wounded and bruised His body, tortured His Soul with their jibes and jeers, He took it all with calm quiet endurance. The barbaric soldiers poured out their vile nastiest contempt upon Him; He bore all this for me and you; He Set His face like a flint, the soldiers like hornets stung His holy Soul with their blasphemies, and cut deeply into His righteous spirit. They disgraced the King of grace; He was loaded down with shame because of my shameful transgressions. They were platting a crown of thorns for Him, they injured their hands while platting the thorns to injure Christ. Sin is very destructive to your immortal Soul. Emmanuel was barbarously entreated; The crown of sins is thorns; shameful mockery; do not parley/flirt with the sins which nailed and pierced Jesus. The soldiers made fun of JESUS, they treated Him as the butt of their utmost ridicule; He was put to such shame, scorn and ridicule; The Substitute became Sin on that day, and He was despised, abhorred, condemned, for Sin is the most abominable shameful thing in the universe. Sin is rebellion is against the omnipotent Creator, revolt against the Almighty. Sin is the apex of folly, the climax of insanity and absurdity. Sin deserves to be scorned and despised; JESUS was the butt of their jokes and jests.
The Infinite became an infant, the Creator that supporting the universe needed to be carried in His mother's arms, the Heir of all things yet the despised step-son of Joseph the carpenter. The newborn child feeding from his mother's breast, deriving His daily nourishment from a woman. For 33 years, He struggled and wrestled again temptations. On the cross, Jesus was the target for all the arrows of the Almighty, arrows dipped into the poison of our sins, all the billows of wrath dashed upon the Rock of my Salvation. He was bruised, trodden, crushed, smitten, His was exceeding sorrowful even unto death. JESUS THE GREAT was misrepresented, misunderstood; the very offscouring of all things, and made as the filth of the world. His disciples fled and sneaked out the back way; filth and vice abounded, mockery and derision, He endured the death penalty, cruel wickedness; He became the butt and target of cruel arrows of contempt. The whole band of soldiers rallied to taunt and humiliate the Savior. They were all unanimous in mocking Him, united in opposing Christ, utter calumnities. All the soldiers teamed up on JESUS: One sheep jumps off the bridge, then they all follow him and drown. You speak reasonably alone, but madly in the sinning crowd, scoffing at the cross of Christ; when you sin, you degrade yourself, and dishonor and provoke God. The very basest conduct is the mockery of Christ. Listen to the howling, growling dogs around the gentle Lamb of God; JESUS' mightiest weapons were His silence and patience. The soldiers yield to vile passions; indulging in evil desires; tortured and insulted the Lord; JESUS bowed His head in shame for us. They flouted and made a jest of the Savior; He bore all this to save your Soul. JESUS suffered such indignities at the hands of rascal sinners; inhuman wretchedness, spitting on Perfection Incarnate; He was buffeted, scourged, nailed, pierced, railed upon; this was a heinous crime, unspeakable villainy, reckless defiant rebellion; (There is homicide, infanticide, fratricide, patricide, matricide, suicide, regicide, but they committed Deicide). Human nature hated, loathed, despised, abhorred, detested the very thought of the fullness of the Godhead veiled in human flesh. Rude and wanton; Thorns pierced His temples with their sharp spines and prickles.
The Lord Jesus Christ, The Lamb of God, God in human form with Precious Innocent Blood pumping through His veins, descended from heaven, made in the likeness of men, begotten of the Holy Ghost, born of a Jewish virgin name Mary. JESUS lived in this world a life of perfect holiness and humility, and the deepest suffering and shame. Until at the last, He offered up Himself to die for our sins, the Just for the unjust, so His Precious Blood could reconcile my Soul back to God. Sinners who were far off from God can now be made nigh by the Blood of Christ.
Now the plan of eternal salvation is simply declared unto you: Whosoever believeth on the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved freely, eternally, immediately. You have violated all the precepts and statutes of God, disdained God's mercy, dared His vengeance, yet Mercy is proclaimed freely to you. The main reason you refuse to receive JESUS CHRIST into your heart and soul is that you love your self, your sins, your own righteousness. Whosoever calleth upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, and the sinner that comes to JESUS, He will in no wise cast out. Whosoever will, let Him take of the water of life freely. JESUS is able to save your Soul to the uttermost this very moment, if you will simply come unto God by HIM. Now all that God asks of you is that you forsake your self-righteousness, repent of your love for Sin, and look to Christ Jesus, the bleeding, dying dear Son of God. Trust your Soul in His hands for His name alone can save you from death and hell. Whosoever believeth on the Lord Jesus Christ may have eternal life freely. Cast away your sins and iniquities, lay hold on Jesus Christ, look alone to the Cross. Your desperate evil nature, and pernicious depravity is keeping you from Christ. The Gospel message is despised, gospel invitations are rejected, you're an enemy of God by wicked works. God sent His only begotten Son to give His life a Ransom for all. You are alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works. If any Soul thirst, let him come directly to JESUS, and drink.
Substitution: Isaiah 53:11; He shall bear their iniquities, Substitution is the top and bottom of All the Gospel of Christ. Luke 18:31-33; Jesus was mocked, spitefully entreated, spitted on, crucify Him. Mark 10:34 He endure shameful deeds of scorn, and became a spectacle of misery. They called the whole band of soldiers together. They gave Jesus a mock throne and a mimic coronation, cruel heartlessness was viciously poured upon the innocent Victim. Gaze reverently and lovingly, Behold the Man! He is Worthy of your most devout attention. In the person of Christ Jesus, JEHOVAH came into the world, JEHOVAH Himself, coming very near to sinful mankind. John 14:10; The natural man despises God and prefers His own sinful ways. Every sin does despite to God. You unbelief is an insult to God, and you prefer sin more than God's favor and presence and Smile. You have heard the Gospel, and have intentionally rejected the Savior. You have refused His mercy. Jesus came to save you, but you disregarded Him. His shame took away my sins, the spitting took away my guilt; odious corruption; Jesus was shamed for me, and faced my fiery doom, and finished Salvation for me.
They mocked the Savior, paraded Him through the streets, nailed Him naked to the cross, sitting down to mock at His agonies, drove nails into His hands and feet, thrusting spear into His side, How is it that you sought me? I lift up before you now, the Crucified Creator, God manifest in the flesh, whosoever believeth on Him shall never perish, but hath Everlasting Life. See His five bleeding wounds, thorn crowned brow, see the nails in His hands and feet, listen to His cries, Why hast thou forsaken ME? I thirst! Father forgive them, Woman behold your son, Father into Thy hands I commend my spirit, It is Finished! Salvation's Atonement is FINISHED and now freely offered to you through His most Precious Blood. Act 16:31, Behold the Lamb of God! Faith in His Blood is the way of Peace. The one Atoning Finished Sacrifice for sins forever of Christ Jesus Himself, the Bloody Cross of the Incarnate God, the way of the sinner's salvation, the sure Foundation of the believer's hope, the symbol of Pardon, reconciliation of my Soul back to God. Behold the Crucified Creator, whosoever believeth in Him shall never perish, but have Eternal Life. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. Look now to His bleeding wounds, thorn-crowned head, pierced side, nailed feet and hands, Listen to his cries.
The whole band of soldiers treated JESUS as an object of contempt. Jesus is so loving of heart and tender of spirit. bruised, battered, bleeding all over. Away with Him! despised, reviled. most extraordinary sight human eyes have ever beheld. You must be a blood-washed sinner, quickened by the Holy Spirit, renewed in heart, converted in soul, or your Soul is lost forever. You hear of Christ with utter indifference. You will perish on the doorstep of mercy. practical decision. You fear public opinion. Jesus covered in wounds, and shame for me. Do you ever think of JESUS? The very heart of God is Christ Jesus. Self-righteousness says, Jesus you were a fool to die. By your inaction you side with JESUS' enemies.
Incarnate Deity, sinless life, atoning death. Literal physical resurrection. The mob felt a flash of His Deity in the garden of Gethsemane when they fell backward. The very God of very God, bled to death in the sinner's place, and whosoever trusts Him is justified in the sight of God. Come to Jesus now and Rest in HIM. Jesus is the Atoning sacrifice and sinner's substitute. Christ took the sinner's place, bearing the sinner's sins, suffering in the sinner's place, vindicating the justice of God, allowing God to be Just, and the Justifier of him that believes on JESUS, the Just for the unjust.
The Gospel Message is far too great for any human tongue to convey. The Spirit of God must make you conscious of your lost state. You will remain in your sinful wretched state until the Holy Spirit quickens you, causing you to sense your sinful ruined condition and poor bedarkened heart, bringing you under the sense of sin, and with absolutely certainty you realize that your sins must be forgiven freely by JESUS. Your conscience must be awakened, on the brink of Eternity, dread dying. God could never pardon you without punishing your sins. The LAW must be honored, justice vindicated, truth established, there must be an Atonement. Without the precious blood, pardon is impossible, and your Soul must be lost forever. The best possible news is wrapped up in four golden words: He offered up Himself. The Lord Jesus Christ, the dear Son of God, the Word was made flesh, came into the world to seek and save lost sinners. He offered up Himself as a sinless Sacrifice once for human sin. The Father delivered up the Lamb of God as the one Sacrifice of sin for the whole world. Who, being in the form, thought it not robbery to be equal with God. But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and made in the likeness of men. and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:18 In JESUS dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. He is the express image of God's person. He offered up Himself as the one and only Sacrifice for Sin to satisfy the strict demands of the divine law. He voluntarily agreed and yielded to be the Innocent Victim for your sins.
JEHOVAH JESUS took upon Himself flesh when He was born of a Jewish virgin at Bethlehem, He lived here for 33 years. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. He was not forced to die. He willingly laid down His life for you. JESUS voluntarily delivered Himself up to Death, willingly yielded up His very life and blood. He laid down His life voluntarily. He offered an acceptable sinless sacrifice to God, and now whosoever trusts in Him shall be saved. He offered up Himself, His entire self, the whole of Himself, actually dying in the sinner's place. He cried out, Eloi, Eloi lama sabachthani. Sin fought against Incarnate Love. Infinite, immortal, eternal, invisible, Almighty loving God. Offered up Himself, took upon Himself the sin of the world, suffered, bled and died in the place of the ungodly. He endured the Cross: bleeding, writhing, suffering, tortured, dying, dead, groaning, sighing. He loved you, and gave Himself for you. He did All this for his enemies. He really died for all sinners.
The Greatest of all facts, the Creator that made us came to Earth in human form, lived a selfless, sinless life, died as our Atoning Sacrifice for human guilt. came down to Earth veiled in human flesh to suffer, bleed, die. If you reject Christ, you will never be saved. God can now justly forgive the trusting sinner. and blot out the sin debt paid for by JESUS. remit the death sentence we deserve, because JESUS stood in our place, and bore the full penalty due to our sins. the Atonement is finished. I trust His atonement, I am saved and shall never come into condemnation, safe forever. Jesus died for me, suffered in my place, bore my guilt and punishment. That is enough and all I need. God appointed Christ Jesus to be the Great ATONEMENT for human sin. God is now fully satisfied with His Atoning Sacrifice, I am content as well. The Judge of all the earth is appeased by JESUS' Precious Blood shed for me. Bleeding Love has won all my trust, affection and gratitude. I love the Christ who offered up Himself for me. I hate my sins that made Him die. I desire to please Him with my life. His Bleeding Love arouses my highest admiration, for He took my sins upon Himself, and suffered in my place. O Amazing divine love: I give myself up for Him. He loved me, and He laid down His life for me. Believingly meditate on Him and trust to Him, and loathe and leave your sins.
JESUS came all the way down from the Godhead to our manhood, and He donned the garment of human flesh. JESUS took the sinner's sin upon Himself, and He bore my sins' full penalty. JESUS subjected Himself to the grossest and filthiest insults. His holy face was defiled with spit, His head pierced with thorns, His back rent and torn, scarred, bruised, wounded, bleeding beneath the scourge. O how greatly He loved me. The Atonement is finished, sin can now be pardoned freely, FOR JESUS' SAKE. Christ stood in the sinner's place, so the sinner could be made Righteous and stand in the place of Christ. Christ taking the sinner's sin, and the sinner taking and wearing Christ's Perfect Righteousness. Trust only JESUS' Atoning Blood and Justifying Righteousness. This Gospel of Christ is so just to God, and so safe for the sinner. Guilty sinners despise the Precious Blood, and love their darling sins and pet secret evils. Mercy is the pure gift of divine charity. Stop striving with your Maker: shall a less than nothing like you oppose Eternal Omnipotence? shall the chaff contend with the Fire? shall a creature war with its Creator? Trust Now in the sinner's Substitute, and all your transgressions can be forgiven, yield your soul up to JESUS, simply trust to His atoning finished work, and Everlasting Life is yours. He cheerfully, willingly, voluntarily died for your crimes against God. Only a depraved monster would continually reject the Lamb of God.
JESUS was charged with blasphemy, sedition, treason, treated as a traitor to government of Caesar. Before Herod JESUS was set at nought, they made nothing of Him. They spewed cruel jests at Him, mocked His person, stripped Him of all His garments, His body is only the casket of the precious jewel of His Soul. The naked Savior died for naked sinners. He clothed the lilies, clothed the earth, clothed the universe, and hung naked in front of the staring, luring, mocking, hard-hearted mob. The soldiers cast lots for His garments at the foot of the Cross as He was bleeding and dying. The eternal JEHOVAH in the flesh, the Infinite despised by sinners of an hour, complete person, manhood, and deity, divinity, mocked as the Son of God, mocked as a king. heavenly royalty and majesty. They cast their garments to carpet His footsteps, then they stripped Him naked to die.
The soldiers sat JESUS down in a mimic throne, plaited a crown of thorns, put a reed scepter in His hand, bowed their knees and mocked Him with fake homage, the spittle of their guilty mouths covered JESUS' face, smiting Him with filthy hands, tribute of jests from brutal tongues into His holy ears. Filthy menial hands slapped the face of the Son of God. Flouted by soldiery, the Potentate of the universe. JESUS is the Creator and Emperor of the worlds, the worlds were made by Him, framed by His words. He was mocked as a prophet, prophesy unto us who smote thee, blindfolded and buffeted with insults and blows. pummeled, maltreated, assaulted. They mocked His priesthood, if thou be Christ, save Thyself and us. The CROSS is the most terrible and frightful of all executions. The rough wood laid upon the ground. JESUS is flung to the ground, soldiers seize His hands and feet, they were rent with the accursed nails. The LAMB OF GOD is lifted up into mid-air between heaven and earth. The Cross is dashed into the socket dug for it. His limbs are dislocated from the jolt and jerk of the cross settling into the hole. He hangs there naked in shame to be gazed upon by all the howling, leering mob. The sun bakes Him, fever begins to burn, tongue dries up, cleaves to the roof of his mouth, near death due to His blood loss, the nails tearing His sinew and flesh, the weight of His body presses on the nails, ripping through His hands, He is a terrible spectacle to see. Hell is the place of dying souls: will you die everlastingly the second death? Jesus bore our sins in His own body on the tree. Hell was poured out on JESUS' soul on the cross. Jesus was forsaken by man and God.
God sent forth His Son, born of a Jewish virgin, the Word became flesh. JEHOVAH truly became a Jewish man through a virgin womb. The invisible Creator became tangible with a face, eyes, hands, feet, beating heart, name, flesh and blood and bones. JESUS came from the bosom of the Father robed in human flesh, yet without sin. From the highest heaven, God came down to Earth, to seek and save lost sinners. The Son of God became the Son of man. The image of the invisible God showed up down here in Bethlehem-Judah, and robed in frail humanity. For our sake, God the Father made JESUS to be Sin for us. God was manifest in the flesh; He became a person just like us, so He could save us from our Sins. JEHOVAH was revealed to mankind in the frailty of flesh as a tiny helpless Jewish baby in need of His mother's tender care and feeding, caresses, and nourishment. God chose to come into the world through littleness and obscurity. JESUS never imposed Himself on others and did nothing in vain glory, but always pleased the Father. JESUS was filled with mercy, closeness, compassion, and concern for the brokenhearted. The LORD of all Eternity became a man here in time. He had to be cared for and nursed, needing attention and protection. God surprised the world, and came down from His majestic throne in the third heaven, condescending to a little manger crib in abject poverty. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners and give them Eternal Life.
The crucifixion of Christ is the crowning sin of the evil human race. It was a foul conspiracy filled with envy, pride, hatred, covetousness, falsehood, blasphemy, cruelty, revenge, murder, deicide. The foulest crime of human history was committed at Calvary. Jesus came unto His own, and His own received Him not. JESUS was a standing protest to their evil deeds; they hated the Light of the world, the Dayspring from on high. His light reproved their wicked lives. The name of JESUS triggers their worst passions, they rave at the mention of Jesus. Hebrews 7:27. You are a derider and rejecter of Christ; the Cross is not to your taste. Christ will be everything or nothing. JESUS is given the cold shoulder. You are distinctly an enemy of Christ, and open antagonist of Jesus with infidel sarcasms, skeptical insinuations, deny His deity, refuse His atoning sacrifice. He suffered and bled, bearing sins, but not his own, that His enemies might live.
JESUS was dressed in a peasant's garb, a wayward son of poverty. The Creator died for the creature's sins; Salvation was purchased with God's own Precious Blood. JESUS put Himself in a place of necessity for our sake. He never neglected the will of God, Subservient to the Father's will always. Jesus made Himself of no reputation, scoffed at by the lewdest and basest men. The Spotless Victim is presented at the Door. Jesus bore our sins, and He was treated as Sin should be treated. Sin is the most shameful thing. In God's sight, sin is shameful, horrible, loathsome, abominable. Sin was scourged, slandered, scandalized, abased, smitten, despised, forsaken, given up to scorn. God spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all. It pleased the Father to bruise Him. He hath put Him to grief. He was treated with derision, and was made a curse for us. He was jeered and jested at. His face was profaned with spittle.
If you fight against and reject the gospel, it will cost you dearly and eternally. The selfish carnal mind of fallen sinful man could never have devised the wonderful gospel of Christ. If you hate Jesus, be wise and surrender, for you are fighting against your own soul's benefit. best interests and safety. You are His enemy, lies, rebellions, children of the devil. utterly baffled. magnify preeminence. very profession is strife. Jesus is the foundation of my eternal hope, and the spring of my present joy. Human nature has lust for its delight (greed, covetousness, pleasures of wantonness); please do not throw away your soul. Why do you choose sin instead of Christ? Do you obey the lusts of the flesh, or Christ? You secretly in indulge the basest passions. What will you choose instead of Christ? Self is your god; you are your own evil deity, you idolize yourself. Me first, God last. Self-worship, your god is your belly, you have no care for God or Christ. May the Holy Spirit send this home to your heart.
They covered JESUS in an old red cloak, and set Him in a mimic throne, and gave Him a reed for a scepter, He bore the shame and agony of your sins voluntarily. (John 10:18; 10:15) I gave My back to the smiters; Isaiah 50:6; Psalm 129:3; The knotted scourge, bleeding shoulders and back, and marred face. Nothing of pomp or show about HIM. JESUS was despised and rejected of men. He suffered diabolical cruel scorning; they hounded Him to death. He was lowliness and tenderness, clothed in a peasant's garb. Man crucified its very best Friend. The Savior endured His enemies' malicious contempt. He did not turn away or seek to escape. He endured the pain of my sins which I deserve to suffer to the bitter end of eternity. The express image of the Father bows to shame and spitting. Hebrew 2:17; Jacob's ladder rested upon the Earth; the Divine and human person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners from the wrath to come. Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. I was a guilty sinner doomed to die and go to hell. But Christ took my place, He died for my sins. He loved me, and gave Himself for me. Christ bore my sins in His own body on the Cross; He stood in my place before God, and was punished for my sins. Now, my Soul has eternal life and can never perish, for Christ has already been punished for my offenses. God demanded me to perfectly keep His Law, but I could not do it. Christ has obeyed the Law perfectly for me, He magnified the Law and satisfied all of God's holy demands. I submitted to Christ's Righteousness, I received JESUS, and when I did, He gave me His RIGHTEOUSNESS freely. God's Divine Justice can no longer demand anything of me. I was a lost sinner, but now I am washed in JESUS' Precious Blood. I was guilty, but now I am clothed in Christ's flawless RIGHTEOUSNESS, by simple trusting Faith in HIM. God's words say that whosoever believes in Christ is saved immediately and eternally. I believe in Christ, therefore I am saved. Whosoever believeth on JESUS is not condemned. I believe on JESUS, therefore I am not condemned. Christ's Righteousness is now my eternal defense and refuge. All my sins are forgiven forever, for JESUS' sake Christ's Righteousness is imputed/credited to my Soul, and I am at Perfect Peace with God through the Precious Blood of the CROSS/Christ's Blood ATONEMENT.
No reason for fear and unbelief, the Father put Jesus to grief, the spotless Lamb of God suffered for my sins, the righteous Judge of sinful men can never condemn me for my immense debt of sins, which were laid on JESUS soul. Complete Atonement JESUS has made, to the utmost paid. Everything my Soul owed, no wrath can touch my Soul now, for I am sheltered and protected in Christ's Righteousness and sprinkled with His Precious Blood. JESUS has purchased my freedom and pardon, freely in my place endured God's full divine wrath, and God cannot demand payment for the same sins twice. My bleeding Surety, I come to Him and rest my Soul in His merits, peace, liberty. Trusting only His Atoning Sinless Sacrifice, my soul is fully accepted by God and fears no banishment from God, for Jesus died for me. The Gospel is the full free present everlasting pardon being offered to sinners through Christ Jesus' Atoning Blood.
