Good Things 1

He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field.  The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one.

And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. But Jesus turned Him about, and when He saw her, He said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou Me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it?  Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you. If ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.  But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.  But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

I am the Good Shepherd: the Good Shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.  I am the Good Shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
