The Pure Gospel 4

God created the heaven and the earth, and then in the Garden of Eden God created Adam and Eve, but they sinned and rebelled against God.  And then sin entered and cursed the entire world through Adam’s disobedience.  The curse of sin has now passed upon you.  You have sinned willfully all your life up until now.  Your time will soon be up on Earth.  Life is so very short, death is inevitable, Eternity is forever, your sins against God must be dealt with, and Christ's Precious Blood is your only way of escape from eternal death.  Your sins are real and your death is sure.  You need to take God serious.

Weary, sore distressed wanderer, stop and listen a moment – don’t live and die in your sins, don’t ruin and utterly destroy your own soul by neglecting Christ’s blood.  Take very seriously the realities of Eternity and the certainty of death; there are drastic consequences for your sins and your rejecting of Christ – it will soon result in your eternal damnation.  Hell will be your eternal destiny without Christ.  The rejection of Christ is your most damning sin.  You have slighted, neglected, and grieved the Spirit’s convictions and invitations to be saved. You have broken God’s holy law.  Your sins are a heavy burden to you.  Your life is only a vapor, your whole life is only a speck of time compared to Eternity.  You have fallen way short of the glory of God, you need a real righteousness to satisfy God’s holiness – you need Christ Himself to wash your sinful soul in His precious blood, and then cover your naked soul from head to foot in His robe of Righteousness.

God does not approve of you at all – His wrath and curse abides on you now, you are under the power of Satan, dead in sin, condemned already, and exposed to eternal death, hell fire, and everlasting destruction. The black clouds of death, destruction, horror, gloom, and terror are gathering on your horizon. The horrible cyclone of death will soon sweep over you.  You have no shelter or refuge from the storm of God’s wrath.  Your sinful habits have brought much guilt upon your soul.  You are distressed, in debt, and discontented.  Your heart aches with guilt; your guilt is unbearable.  The fears of death haunt your mind.  You are condemned already.  There will be a Judgment from God about everything you’ve thought, said, or done; all of your filthy imaginations, unkind words, and selfish deeds.

You must give account to God for the entire black record of your sins.  Your self-righteousness, moral pride, and vain presumption will only damn your soul.  You have a miserable vacuum and emptiness in your heart.  Your conscience condemns you – you violate it every day.  You are spiritually bankrupt, you have not a penny to help buy yourself out of sin.  God has been very, very good to you, but you have rebelled and gone astray from Him times without number. You are guilty indeed of breaking God’s laws, you have sinned all your life and you will sin till you die.  There is nothing good in you to commend you to God.  You can’t do anything good that will make God accept you.

God is holy and He must punish your sin. He cannot be a just God, and let your sin go unpunished; you cannot escape the penalty of your sin in your own strength.  You deserve eternal death; the wages of sin is death.  The first link between your soul and Christ is not your goodness, but your badness; not your merit, but your misery; not your self-confidence, but your guilt; not your standing, but your falling.  The whole world lieth in wickedness; it seeks after sex, wealth, violence, and excitement, and the lust of the world will soon pass away.

But Christ Jesus, God manifest in the flesh, came into the world to save sinners.  He took your place and became the Substitute for you.  He took your sins and sorrows, He made them His very own.  He bore your sin burden in His own body up to Calvary's tree.  He suffered and did it all alone – up there Christ endured the wrath of God due to your sins.  Out of infinite love and pity, Jesus Christ came to this sin-cursed earth, took upon Him your sin, died in your place on Calvary’s Cross.  He was so kind, so selfless, and so condescending.  God gave His Son to die for you.  Christ died especially for you.  Come to the wounded, bleeding Savior.

You must first abandon your self-righteousness, turn from trusting in your goodness, confide your immortal soul into Christ’s dear hands, rest in Jesus blood atonement only.  Be ye reconciled to God.  Don’t die unprepared and undone - take Jesus Christ, the Son of God to be your soul’s only confidence.  Permanently and completely trust Christ.  He died for you especially; He wants to freely pardon you now.  Come at once, don’t delay any longer.  Make no longer vain excuses, Jesus is tenderly calling you now, come and take His garments of salvation freely.  He holds them in His hands for you now.

Your main business is to trust to Christ, rest on Him, confide in His atoning blood, depend only on what Christ did for you, when He bled and died on the Cross. Christ stood where you stood as the condemned sinner, and He suffered as if he had lived your sinful life.  He died as if He had been as guilty as you.  Come now and stand in His place, and you can be accepted by God. Exchange your sins for Christ’s Righteousness. He suffered all you ought to have suffered, He paid all your sin debts – He will wash away all your sins – sins of the past and sins to come – full and free pardon for all your trespasses.  Let Him lift your sins from off your shoulders and onto His shoulders.

Ye must be born again.  Receive Christ, believe on His name, rely on His sin-forgiving blood.  Come and stand in Christ’s place and be saved instantly.  Fix all your soul's hope on the Lord Jesus Christ, who bled, and died, and rose again from the dead for you.  Look up to Lord Jesus and say, “God please write my name down in the Lamb’s book of life.  I forever and only trust in the Lamb of God’s blood to save my soul.  I now receive your dear Son as my sin-bearer and substitute."  The words of forgiveness from God’s mouth are most sweet.  (See Colossians 2:13) Christ will forgive all your trespasses freely and instantly.  Divine and eternal forgiveness through God’s blood is your most urgent need.  Come to Jesus through faith in His Blood, and He will save you to the uttermost. Trust only to His Precious Blood.
