Freely Given

Now understand - if we ever receive anything spiritually from God, it must be freely given to us and never earned; therefore, all self righteousness and carnal boasting is excluded.  All praise, glory and honor must be ascribed to the Lord Jesus Christ, and not self.

Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:  and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Who gave Himself a Ransom for all, to be testified in due time.  Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.  He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son.

But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.  For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many. He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?  I will love them freely.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.  But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.  And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?  Freely ye have received, freely give.  Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

To give knowledge of salvation unto His people by the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.  I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.  Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water.  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.  The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. For the bread of God is He which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.  Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.  I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

I am the Good Shepherd:  the Good Shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.  And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever.  Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. I have given them Thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.  Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.  I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.  For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Now He that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.  But the Scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.  Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savor.

Wherefore He saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.  For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for His sake.  He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us His holy Spirit.  Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace.  Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.  In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth.  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

But He giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.  If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.  According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.  God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.  Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of His Spirit.  And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.  And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
