How often would JESUS have gathered your Soul under His merciful wings, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, but YE WOULD NOT. YE WILL NOT come to JESUS, that ye might have LIFE.
Here are just a few reasons why you still stay away from CHRIST JESUS:
* You have a very high opinion of yourself, and think you've done anything bad enough to deserve the eternal lake of fire.
* You mean to mend yourself, set it all right with God, and go about to establish your own righteousness, while refusing to submit to God's Righteousness, Who is the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
* Self-satisfaction is a perilous state; You believe in yourself; You are in opposition to God Himself. You have not done your best in any day of your life; you cannot get rid of your sins, so give up thinking you can. As long as you are good in your own eyes, you will never be saved. Confess that you have sinned against God; lay hold Christ, leave your Soul in His hands. The reason you will not believe on Christ and receive Him is that you believe in yourself in some way.
* You think you can please God on your own (Romans 10:3).
* You make light of the KING'S Gospel invitation and go your way.
* You have a strong distaste for confessing your sins and approaching God as a helpless sinner.
* Hardness of heart, hatred of God, religious pretender who doesn't want to lose face/popularity/position at his church, self-esteem, love for darling sins, sinful pleasures, old sinful companions, carnal lusts and addictions, indifferent to the Gospel, Careless with your immortal Soul, frivolous, superficial, giddy, filthy lusts are your real master
* Refuse to think on the Person of Christ and His Precious Blood; to spend an hour alone looking unto JESUS, thinking of Eternity, facing death and judgment frightens you. What you are when you die, you will be forever out in Eternity. Sluggishness and lingering in your sins keep you from believing on Christ, and it soon keep you in Hell forever. The time you have killed will accuse you before God.
* Very fond of sinful pleasures and evil companions, bars, casinos, bingo parlors. You prefer your sins to the Savior. You use skepticism to quiet your conscience.
* Live to make and hoard money, cheat people, workaholic; Indulge in private sin at the expense of your immortal Soul. Reject Christ's deity, and despise His sinless Blood Atonement.
* You won't forgive other people; Public sinner, secret sinner - all will be made known on the Day of Judgment; there will no secrets then.
* You have good intentions to be saved, and you will carry them out one of these days. You huff off or smile off a Gospel witness or invitation to come to JESUS. You have no Love for God or His Son. Your inward depravity loves darkness, and will not take the only sinless Man that ever lived who loved you to death and paid for your Sins.
* Prejudice of some professing Christian, that has not lived up to his profession of Christ. Come to Jesus now personally, and receive free salvation from HIM. Delays are dangerous and damnable.
* Fearful of considering your past sinful ways. You defy your Maker, trample over His Son's innocent Blood, despise His Grace. Your rejection of Christ is suicide to your Soul.
* You're too miserable, and not in a fit state to come to Christ.
* You choose Friends, Fun, Finances over Christ.
* You would rather believe in a religious sect that your mother and grandmother believed in, rather than receiving Christ Himself.
* Presumptuous, Procrastination, Hesitation, Sin-lover, Self-lover, Objecting doubter, Undecided, Double-minded, Indifferent, Lustful habits, Lascivious pleasures, I want my way, Earthly toys, Selfish gains. No sacrifice is too expensive for a man's lust; he will do anything he has to in order to live a life of sinful merriment in rebellion against God.
* Secret motives, religious pride and popularity/vain glory, private lusts, selfish intentions, evil purposes, envyings, jealousies, plottings, loving a lie more than Christ (John 18:37), sinful gains, pleasing smiles
* Indulging in a secret sin which love and will never give up
* Self-righteousness, bad company, love of money/greed, dancing and revelry, folly, ignorance, conceit, prejudice, obstinancy, unbelief, self-will/I want my way
You're going to die someday soon (Hebrews 9:27). God is going to judge you out in Eternity for the life you've lived secretly and openly here on Earth. Christ Jesus' Precious Blood and Perfect Righteousness is the only way for you to escape the Judgment and Wrath to come on your guilty Soul (1 Peter 3:18). Only JESUS' Blood Atonement can bring you back to God. Repent toward God; Be ye Reconciled to God, Believe on Christ Jesus, Receive His Person and Atonement now (John 1:12; Romans 5:11).
