*EMULATIONS*

Emulation is one of the works of the flesh (evil human nature) listed in Galatians 5:20. Envying a loud round of applause that someone else is getting; a strange pride of keeping my religious convictions better than others, and my self-discipline gives me a greater acceptance with God than those around me; Desire and determination to outdo your rival; bitter animosity and resentment toward those that outshine you; Your carnal mind is enmity AGAINST God and the people around you; Jealous competition and selfish rivalries; Envying, strife, divisions; Striving to do more than others for vain honor and grasping for promotion, money, title, mammon; Fear of insignificance; Desire to the best, the smartest, the most recognized person in the room; Desire to look important, and to want the best seat at the table in order to feel superior; Vain glory, envying, and provoking one another; Seek the public praise and attention of men; A twisted satisfaction of feeling superior to others; To feel bitter when someone tells you about the success of someone you don't like; Envying, strife, every evil work; The way of Cain; Exhaust yourself to appear more righteous than others; To feel a secret pride and superiority over others religiously; LOOK AT ME; Saying or doing things to attract attention to yourself; To pick at flaws in others and criticize them when you feel unnoticed; A desire to outwardly appear righteous unto men; Constantly comparing and constantly measuring and envying others; Seek to gain human applause and please human opinion and carnal prejudice; Vain glory in your own accomplishments; Love the praise of man, and not the praise of God; Zealous rivalry; Resentment of other's successes; Envious desire to outdo or replace another person; Outdo others out of selfish pride; Try to surpass others professionally or religiously; Desire to feel superior to others; Envious competition; Look at what I've accomplished; Striving for superiority fueled by envy; Self-destructive ambition; Deep bitter envying.
