Heavenly Medicine 3

My soul's main Medicine is that the Creator God, the Absolute Sovereign of the universe, the Sustainer of all things, the Matchless Maker who made the heavens and the earth, the Holy Being of perfect holiness and power without Whom was not anything made that was made (John 1:3), this great God became a Jewish man.  He was born of a Jewish virgin in Bethlehem and for 33 years dwelt as a poor man among sinners. Christ Jesus was Crucified for guilty sinners, so they can be freely saved by His amazing Grace - This fact is my soul's only medicine and portion.

The only way to meet bodily hunger is to eat bread, and the only way to meet your soul's want is to take and receive Christ Jesus Himself, the Bread of Life. Only the Holy Spirit Himself can implant the seed of eternal life in your heart, not religion at all. Blessed is the soul which is shut up to prayer and faith in Jesus.  Lord Jesus, I have no merits of my own, forgive all my sins for Thy mercies' sake.  The only consolation for a weary sinner is to fall back upon the Savior's everlasting arms.  If you deliberately refuse the Precious Blood of Christ, the only way of escape from the wrath to come, you are damned for sure.  Human nature is desperately trying to solve its sin problem and control its own destiny without Jesus Christ, but it can't.

This is the only plan of Salvation - you must freely obtain God's love, mercy and Righteousness by receiving it through the Mediator, Jesus Christ the Lamb of God.  How long will you halt between two opinions?  Your disobedient steps will cause you to wander till at last you sink in despair, damnation, and eternal death.  This world is continually trying to get you to forget God and distract you from seeking Him.  This is the only way, the safe way which is open to all sinners, and it is open to you at this very moment.  There is no good in any man that can save him. *Romans 3:12,19* Human nature is continually trying to justify itself and promote its self-righteousness. If your Salvation depends upon you at all, you must perish.  Jesus didn't come into the world to save decent and good folks - Christ died for the ungodly.  You're going to have give account to God in the hereafter of your personal dealings in your personal life.

There is a Creator God to whom you must give an account. You are not going to pass that accounting.  You can never meet to the holy standards of your Creator.  Your Creator knew you could not pass the test of His scrutiny by your own merits, so He lived a sinless life in the person of Jesus of Nazareth and passed the test for you. *I Peter 2:24; I Peter 3:18; II Corinthians 8:9* He then bore your sins in His own body, and then He took the penalty of your sins and failures, so you wouldn't have to.  And to top it all off, He now offers you eternal life as a Free Gift if you will just accept and trust what He did for you. My God bled and died and rose from the dead for me.  God will only give you eternal life apart from your own righteousness.  The moment you stop trusting your own righteousness, and trust wholly to Christ's Righteousness, you have Eternal Life. Simply accept what the Crucified Creator did for you and you will make it to Heaven.  Never think of putting your own righteousness side by side with Christ's divine Righteousness.  Never think of mixing your works with Christ's Perfect Finished Work.

You will never add to or improve upon the all-sufficiency of Christ's sinless atoning Sacrifice, for you are a sinner, and all that a sinner can do is Sin.  You proudly pass by the Fountain and refuse to drink, and pass by the unsearchable Riches of His grace.  You despise the Savior's bleeding love.  How shall you escape if you neglect so great Salvation?  You foolishly neglect and distrust the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. You're going to get what you deserve if you don't watch it.  Only Jesus can supply every possible need of your lost soul.  Come to the Cross where Jesus receives and cleanses the guilty and lost.  All you have to bring is your nakedness, poverty, hardness, wretchedness, misery and death.  Self-despair is the doorstep to confidence in Jesus.

* Does God know you're saved?
* Have you been absolutely morally perfect before your Maker from your childhood to now?
* Are you content to remain lost and lose your soul in hell, because there may be hypocrites in the church?  Is this not just another lame excuse so you can continue on indulging in your favorite sin?
* Have you ever wondered why the sentence of death has not yet been executed against you?  Have you ever wondered why God has spared you to this day and not put you in Hell where you belong?
* Do you wish to get out of your sad, sinful state?
* Why are you so unkind to your Creator?
* What has God done to you, or for you, that you should remain His adversary?
* Have you trusted your immortal soul with Christ?
* Why will you not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart?  Why do you not ask Him to raise you out of your spiritual death, and give you everlasting life? Why do you not ask Him to open your eyes? Why do you not take His Salvation which is freely offered to you today?
* Why do you hate Christ and rebel against God as you do?
* Are you a child of God or a child of Satan today?  There is no place in between the two.
* Why do you seek to conceal what is always before God's eye?
* Who or what is the God of your life?
* Who is going to answer to God for all your sins against Him?
* Are you willing to be cured of your desire to sin?
* Are you anxious to get rid of your sins?

* Have you diligently sought the Lord and asked the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and sanctify you within today?
* When is the last time you sought wisdom from above? *James 3:17*
* What is the chief object of your life?  Will you think as much of it in the day of judgment as you do now?  Will you then count yourself wise to have pursued it?  Will you be as highly honored in "that day" as you are now?
* Do you wish to be chaste, pure in thought, in speech, and in action?
* Are you a thief?  Do you privately cheat in business?  Are you lazy on the job throughout the week but fraudulently take a full paycheck on Friday?
* Is living for God's glory and the winning of souls to Christ the great aim and object of your being?
* Are you living to get glory to yourself?
* Have you ever thought how many meals you have eaten from your childhood until now?  That is how many times God has taken care of you.
* Do you rejoice over repenting sinners? Do you feel intense sympathy for lost sinners? Do you dread lest they should be lost? Do you pray that they may be saved? Do you seek, by your personal testimony and entreaty, to bring them to Christ?
* What are you doing for Jesus who suffered for your sins?  Are you only going to church to hear a man talk to you about Jesus?
* Do you desire to consecrate all of your faculties, goods, hours, substance, abilities, and powers to Jesus and His cause?
* Are you walking worthy of the Lord Jesus Christ who bled and died for you?
* Have you denied yourself some pleasure in order to spend your time in doing well to others?
* Have you lost the light of God's countenance, the communion of the Holy Ghost?

You must become wholly dependent upon the voice and power of Jesus Christ who is the Resurrection and the Life.  You must look right away from yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ.  You must rely upon what He has done, not upon anything you have done or will do.  Not what you can work in yourself, but what Jesus can work in you.  You cannot work Salvation into yourself, Jesus must freely give you Everything. Your sins nailed the Lord of glory to the shameful tree of Calvary.  The bleeding Savior, the quickening Spirit is your only hope of Eternal Life.  The Innocent Blood of God manifest in the flesh is the only medicine that will save your life.  You will die in your sins if you refuse to personally take and swallow the Gospel Medicine.  Go to God at once by trusting to the Merciful Mediator - go personally and directly to Jesus.

You must come to God, and Jesus is the only way to God for a guilty sinner.  *Acts 4:12* Jesus has offered the great and acceptable Atonement before God for the sins of all men.  *Romans 5:11* Whosoever will come to Jesus and rest completely on His Atonement hath eternal life.  *John 3:14-15* Every salesman finds that he cannot get his customers up to his price, but the soulwinner's main difficulty is that he can't get his customers down to his price for God's Salvation - FREE!   Self-righteous men continually higgle and haggle to do or be something in themselves.  The only terms for Gospel Grace is without money and without price.  Your unbelief is a disease, your self-righteousness is a crime, your unbelief is the source of your misery, and your self-esteem is an offense and insult to God.  You need more Christ-esteem, not self-esteem.

Sin will lead you to do things that you will regret the rest of your life.  You must take Salvation freely at the Cross; God will have none of your bargaining.  Take God's free mercy, take mercy just as you are, and you are welcome to come, but if you wait and try to make yourself better, your very self-betterness will only make you worse in God's sight.  Your hunger, nakedness, poverty, guilt, sin, thirst, loathsomeness, and hardness make you a fit object for God's wondrous Grace.  Deliverance from the power of sin is only through the atoning blood of Jesus.

Trusting in your own works is a deadly and damning error.  The deadliest things are your own self-righteousness and love for sin.  The sinless blood of the Mediator's Sacrifice must mark your soul.  The only wages you can earn are the wages of sin which is eternal death.  Here is the Gospel Remedy for your sins - trust to the Precious Blood of Christ alone, receive Him personally by faith, heartily forsake your sins, loathe every evil way.

If you avoid and reject Jesus Christ, you have shut in your own face the only door of hope for your lost soul, for he that believeth not on Jesus is condemned already.  Come to Jesus now empty with nothing in your hand but your sins and misery.  Jesus Himself must save you from your eternal misery, the sorrows of sin, the misery of unbelief, the bitterness of guilt, and the bonds of iniquity.  Free grace gives immediate and irreversible Salvation to the undeserving sinner. At the instant you believe in Jesus, you cease to be in danger of Hell Fire.

Turn your eye of Faith to Jesus Christ, the Crucified Creator, and you are saved from the wrath to come.  Jesus is the Great Atonement for human guilt.  Believe on Jesus,   cleave to the Cross, trust to the Blood, embrace the Gospel, ask for Mercy, lay hold on Eternal Life by Faith in Jesus alone. Take now the Gospel Medicine freely and inwardly by simple Faith in Jesus' Atoning Blood.  Well, Glory to Lamb of God!
