Behind the Bloody Door

In Exodus 12, the Egyptians must have thought that the Israelites were superstitious, religious nuts when they saw them out smearing lamb's blood on their houses.  If you were driving down the road in your hometown today, and you saw some family outside painting their house with blood, you would think they had lost their minds or part of some religious cult.

But the Jews were commanded by the LORD *Exodus 12:1* to take the blood of a lamb without blemish and strike it on their doors.  The spotless lamb could not be just tied up to their door alive.  The innocent lamb had to die and its blood had to be spilt.  The lamb's blood had to be shed, because sin requires judgment and death.  The blood of the spotless lamb had to be sprinkled on the front door of the house, not the back door.  This is a picture of their unashamed, open profession and obedience to God's words and way.  The Jews regarded the words of God and therefore were saved; the Egyptians disregarded God's command and suffered death for it.

Sin is no respecter of persons. The wages of sin has always been death.  We are all condemned already under the curse of the Law.  But God, who is rich in mercy, provided a way for Israel to avoid His destroying wrath.  They had to be sheltered behind a bloody door.  All the spiritual firstborns in this world today are in danger.  Everyone must be twice-born in order to avoid the wrath of God in Eternity.  Ye must be born again within your spirit and soul by the Spirit of God.  Every man had to take the blood and apply the blood to his house.  Either the firstborn or an innocent substitute must suffer the penalty.  The Israelites were not any more righteous than the Egyptians, they needed the Blood to protect them too.  They couldn't trust their good works; they needed Blood.  Every man that night had to be saved by Blood.

Today in 2013, every soul must be saved by Blood, but not just any Blood, it has to be God's Blood that was shed by Immanuel (God with us) on Calvary's Cross.  Jesus suffered and bled on the Cross, but not for any guilt He ever had, but to show me that I am guilty, and that I deserved to die like He did.  If you mix anything you have done with the blood of Jesus, you are lost; if trust to anything else but Jesus alone, you will perish in your sins.  Men want to trust in themselves and in Christ too.  If you rely on anything with Jesus, you shall be surely damned.  If you do not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ implicitly, ye shall die in your sins.  You must personally receive and appropriate Christ Jesus for yourself.  The Blood of Jesus Christ must be between your soul and an avenging God.

If God had not provided a means for Israel to escape that night, they would have all suffered death.  Israel was just as sinful as Pharaoh and the Egyptians.  When the destroyer passed through Egypt at midnight, He was not looking for Jews or Gentiles, He was looking only for the blood of the lamb.  The blood alone made the Jews safe, God's promise made them sure.  They had rejected Moses' word from God at the first; they were resistant to God's voice, just like every lost man.  They were guilty of idolatry at Mount Sinai when they made a molten calf to worship.

There is no difference, for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.  Every sin you commit is against your Maker, and it is a capital offense and deserves eternal death.  You are just as guilty of sin as Charles Manson or Pope Francis.  You are under the sentence of death for your sins. The blood represents the taking of a life.  An innocent substitute's blood has to be spilt, a life for a life. Jesus died in my place, Christ instead of me. Jesus took the punishment that I had coming to me for intentionally sinning against the holy God that created me.

The only place of safety for your soul right now is behind the Bloody Door.  Jesus is the Bloody Door that you must enter into by Faith, and hide behind, in order to be protected from the wrath of God that will surely come upon all men who die unconverted in their natural state. *John 3:36*  Jesus was holy, harmless, absolutely sinless. *John 19:6; Matthew 27:4,19; Luke 23:47; John 8:46; II Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15; I Peter 1:19; 2:22; I John 3:5*  Jesus was Holy in His nature, and harmless in His daily life.  Christ our Passover was sacrificed for us.  Religion will sell you a bill of goods, but Jesus will give you free eternal through faith in His Blood. Peace and security from the vengeance of divine justice is found behind the Bloody Door.

You need the perfectly innocent Lamb of God; you especially need His Precious Atoning Blood to be applied to your heart's door by the Holy Spirit of God.  God is Holy, and the only Sacrifice that will satisfy His exacting demands is the spotless Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.  The blood in our body is precious to us because it gives us human life here on earth, but the Blood of Jesus is extremely precious for His Blood freely gives us Eternal Life here on Earth and in Eternity.  Your sins are many and deadly; you need God's mercy and blood immediately.

God required a lamb in the Garden of Eden.  Abel brought a lamb for his sins, and he was accepted.  We all need the Lamb of Glory to be accepted in the Beloved.  God so loved us, that He gave to us what He required at the Cross.  Jesus never committed one sin His whole earthly life. You can't live sinless for one day, must less a lifetime.  We're all in a mess; we all need the Savior.  God gives you an ultimatum, either trust His Son's Blood and go to Heaven, or trust yourself and go on to Hell where we all belong in the first place.  If you are placing a speck of trust in yourself right now, you are lost and undone.  You can only escape the White Throne Judgment unscathed through the work and wounds of Jesus.  There is no escape from the danger of your guilt and the wrath of God except behind the Bloody Door of Calvary.

The sinless Atoning Sacrifice of Christ Jesus, God manifest in the flesh, is our only refuge from the coming destroyer.  God provided a ram instead of Isaac; He provided a lamb for each household in Egypt; He provided a lamb for the entire nation of Israel on the Day of Atonement; and then the LORD provided the Lamb of God for the entire world on Calvary's Cross.  Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. *I John 2:2* Any soul that wants to safely meet God must come through the blood of the Lamb.  *Revelation 5:9* Jesus through the eternal Spirit offered Himself up as an Atonement without spot to God for your sins.  It took blood in Exodus 12 to turn the wrath of God away from each house, and it still takes Blood to turn God's wrath away from your sinful soul.  The Precious Blood mark must be on your soul, or you will not be spared from the judgment to come.

You must personally shelter yourself behind the Bloody Door of Calvary.  Jesus said, "I am the Door: by Me if man enter in, he shall be saved." *John 10:9* The Door went to the Cross and shed His Blood for your sins.  Come to Calvary now, look to the Lamb of God, enter into the Bloody Door by Faith in Jesus Himself. Be still, listen to the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit.  Repent, turn from your love of sin, and come unto Jesus, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and He will give you rest.  Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.  Calmly and safely rest behind the Bloody Door.  There is no where else for you to hide for God's divine justice.  Christ died for the ungodly.  Adam's coat of skin, Abel's lamb, were Abraham's ram all a picture of the true Lamb of God who came into this world to died for His enemies.  Jesus bore my sins, He became Sin for me, He drank all the wrath of God which was poured out on Him because of my sins against God.

Right now, stop trusting your own self-goodness altogether, and trust only to what Jesus did for you. Come now and hide yourself behind the Bloody Door at once, and then feast on the goodness of Christ Jesus all the days of your life, and persuade other precious souls to come and hide behind the Bloody Door called JESUS.  Your personal faith in the atoning blood of the Lamb of God will do the job, and nothing else will.  Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath though Him. *Romans 5:9*  Lord Jesus, thank you for your bloody death on the Cross for my ungodly soul.
