Blind men care not for color; deaf men care not for music; and dead souls care not for Christ. But God, who is rich in mercy and grace, comes searching for us anyway. The Gospel invitation is written to your Soul by God Himself in a simple love note: Matthew 11:28.
Christ Jesus was God in human flesh, having GOD'S BLOOD pumping through His veins and arteries. Jesus' heart was filled with bleeding, redeeming love for sinful rebels. I was full of sin, but God laid all my iniquities on the Lamb of God and put my transgressions away forever—without any violation of His divine justice—when I placed my faith in GOD'S BLOOD. Like a sheep, I went astray, but Jehovah laid on Jesus all my crimes against the law. No medicine was ever so potent and effectual as this one which Jesus provided freely from His own veins.
I am a poor, guilty sinner. I trust Christ; my sins are no longer mine, for they were laid upon the sinless soul of Christ on the cross, my great Surety. Jesus paid my sin bill in full with His own life. The lightning bolts of JEHOVAH'S wrath struck JESUS, and now I am safe and sound forevermore.
The Holy Spirit quickened me; He came and helped me to the cross, helped me to pray, and showed me the dear Lamb of God—that is, God and man in one precious person, wounded, scourged, pierced, and covered in His own BLOOD, sweat, and tears for my guilty soul. The Holy Spirit convinced me of my sinfulness and whispered to me: JESUS is your sinless Substitute; He bore your sins and the wrath of God so you don't have to. As a little child, simply trust HIM.
The very center of the Gospel target is the ATONEMENT. Take good and steady aim at Christ crucified for the ungodly, and make Him the central point of your faith. God is sternly just and yet gracious: Christ instead of me. My sin debt has been canceled, paid in full, and can never be demanded of men ever again. Christ Himself nailed my sin bill to the cross. Eternal justice can never charge my soul with my sins' crimes, which were once-for-all charged to my great Substitute. GOD'S BLOOD has cleansed me from all sin. God will not punish Christ and then punish those who trust His Son; God will not take payment for sin first from Christ and then from me as well—first from the Surety and then from the debtor.
The riches of God's grace are all mine through faith in Jesus' Precious Blood; they're mine at this very moment. God demands that I trust in His dear Son who died for sinners. I am a sinner—there is no doubt about that. Christ Jesus is worthy to be trusted, for He is God manifest in the flesh. He laid down His own life in my place; therefore, I heartily trust Him, and I do trust Him only, without any further question or delay. Jesus Christ's sinless BLOOD satisfied God's Vengeance, and Jesus satisfies my soul. Asking no further questions, I come and trust my Soul, my sins, and my eternal safety with Jesus.
