And He gave them their request;
but sent leanness into their soul.
But why?
- They forgot HIS works
- Walked not after HIS counsel
- Lusted exceedingly and tempted HIM
- Refuse and rebel
- Pride, Loftiness, arrogancy
- Speak wickedly concerning oppression
- Exceeding proud talk
- Arrogant mouth
- Hasten after another god
- Stouthearted, Stiffnecked
- Stubborn and rebellious, spirit is not stedfast with God
- Uncircumcised in heart, perverse heart
- Call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter
- Mouths are full of cursing and deceit and fraud; under their tongue is mischief and vanity
- Imprudent
- Practice wicked works
- Filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity, whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful
- Have pleasure in them that do evil
- The workers of iniquity boast themselves
- Bless the covetous
- Love vanity and seek after falsehoods
- Oppression of the poor
- Hardened their heart, Stony heart
- Hardened their neck
- Stopped their ears
- Refused to strengthen the hand of the poor and needy
- Resist the Holy Ghost
- Refuse to humble thyself
- Grieve the Holy Spirit
- Refuse to walk in His law
- Vanity and vexation of spirit
- Regarded not the word of the LORD
- Refuse reproof and instruction
- Refuse to receive correction
- Refused to return
- Refuse to know ME
- Forgetting God, Forgetting the poor
- Refuse to hear MY words
- Refused to hearken
- Pulled away the shoulder
- Regarded iniquity in their heart
- Set wicked things before their eyes
- Double heart, Double tongued, Double minded
- Proud heart, high look, haughty spirit, lofty looks
- Stretch forth their necks, wanton eyes
- Respect of persons; love the praise of men
- Turn aside after lucre
- Pervert Judgment and Justice
- Trust in oppression and perverseness
- Pervert all equity
- Pervert the right ways of the LORD
- Turned unto ME the back
- Have not hearkened to receive instruction
- But they rebelled, and vexed His Holy Spirit
