Being a good soul-dier of Jesus Christ means first to fight against your own sins daily, and also to warn and win souls for Jesus' sake, and increase the kingdom of God by telling out the Gospel to unsaved souls. A good soul-dier simply points lost sinners to the Lamb of God, for He is their only hope of Heaven. *John 1:27-29* The art of button-holing or confronting acquaintances and relatives for Jesus Christ is needed today. We will never get to preach to the thousands, so we must witness daily to the 'ones', we know and meet. Get a hold of one man alone, and in love, quietly and prayerfully, witness to him. Jesus took time to sit on the well in John 4 to preach to just "one" lady, and that "one" lady did good to all the city of Samaria.
Those who truly know and love the Lord Jesus Christ will make some attempt to lead and direct the souls that are around them to the Lamb of God. John the Baptist cried, "Behold the Lamb of God!" John knew Jesus, so he point others to Him. Focus closely now on the Lamb of God. Philip stop preaching in a revival in Samaria in Acts 8, and went down to Gaza as the Spirit led him, and preached Jesus to just one Ethiopian, and then that "one" took the Gospel and Jesus back home with him to Ethiopia.

We must not give way to timidity and keep quiet when it comes to witnessing. Sinners remained unwarned and unwon by our negligence, and Christ remains unknown and untrusted through our silence. Deal personally with the unconverted, head them off on the road to Hell. We must force ourselves to witness and speak up for Jesus. Witnessing is an irksome task at first, for the Cross is an offense to lost people, we must keep at it and then testifying becomes easy. We must win souls, we must be up and doing, and let none around us die unwarned and uncared for. A Gospel tract is a useful thing, but a living word of testimony with the Spirit's touch from our own heart and tongue is much better. Only one life, and it will soon be past, and only what's done for Christ will last.
Men very seldom forget being confronted about Jesus and asked about the condition of their soul. Your eyes, face, voice and words will help them remember the truth of the Gospel. Your own testimony and fervent speech is much better than a piece of paper you may hand them. We must go to eyeball to eyeball with the lost and tell them about the Crucified Creator and warn them of God's divine justice and the wrath to come. Always seek the help of the Holy Ghost, for without Him you can do nothing when dealing with lost souls dead in their sins. We must attend to lost souls, for Jesus' sake. There is nothing like personally speaking to souls about Christ Jesus, looking them in the eye, telling them how Jesus rescued you from sin, and pleading with them to flee to Christ Himself for refuge. Do what you can for Jesus, and you won't regret it. He that winneth souls is wise. This life is so short, your soul is precious; don't take it for granted.
We must seek the blessed gift of personally dealing with souls, to speak to them individually about their danger, and the Blood of Jesus Christ, the only way of escape from their danger. Seek and pray for opportunities of talking to individuals one by one for Jesus. There is great power is personally dealing with people, and begging them to come to Jesus. Try to say something for Jesus whenever you can. Cultivate the art of soul-winning for Jesus in your life, for it is one of the main ways souls are rescued from sin. Follow Jesus' example, hunt for souls, be fishers of men, take them in the Gospel net. Get a hold of a man at every opportunity you can, and put to Him this question - Dost thou believe on the Son of God? *John 9:35*
Let me put it to you, dear friend - God has sent His Son, Christ Jesus, to be the Messiah, the Mediator between Himself and you. Have you deliberately turned away from and rejected Christ? God sent His Son into the world to save sinners from His divine justice. Do you refuse to be saved by the merits of His matchless Blood? Do you tempt the justice of God by rejecting the mercy of God in Christ? The plan of Salvation cost God His dear Son. Do you mean to say that you care not what it cost God to save you? You may not want Christ, but He wants you. Do you mean to give Christ, the cold shoulder, or not? Will you fling the Atonement out the window, and have nothing to do with Christ?
The natural man never thinks of Christ at all. The years roll on with scarcely a thought of Him. You don't think His bloody death is worth a thought. You reject the plan of Salvation by the great Substitute. You do not care to be saved by the atoning blood, you would sooner trust in yourself, or something else this world has dreamed up. Remember the ambulance, and then the hearse, will soon come for you, you will take your final ride, and then six feet of dirt shall hold you. Oh sinner, whatever you do, do not procrastinate, and trifle with your immortal soul. Childlike faith in Jesus' blood is the only preparation for life, death and Eternity. Are you wise to live in danger of eternal death and judgment, and remain unprepared to meet God? The first business of your life should be to ensure your soul is saved from divine justice. Confess your sins, seek God's mercy, cast yourself on Christ's atoning work, and trust Him to save your guilty soul right now on the spot.
