Refrain from Sinning

Life is short, and shortly it will end;
Death comes quickly, and respects no one,
Sin damns every Christ-less soul,
and takes pity on no one.
To death we are hastening,
The vain things of this world are fleeting,
Holy Spirit, help us to refrain from sinning against God.

If we do not come to the Cross,
and become as a little child,
And let the Lamb of God save our soul
and change our life for the better,
We will not be able to enter or
see the blessed Kingdom of God.
Remember now, to death we are hastening,
Holy Spirit, help us to refrain from sinning against God.

When I was a child, I laughed and wept, Time crept;
When as a youth, I dreamed and talked, Time walked;
When I became a full grown man, Time ran;
When older still I daily grew; Time flew;
Soon I shall be traveling on, Time Gone!
Life is so short, Eternity is Forever,
Be wise, Plan ahead.

Come right out in the Light, throw away your cloak of religiousness, and be a deceiver no longer.  Look not to your own efforts, trust to Christ's finished work alone. Cast off your double-mindedness, leave off loving your sins. Live cleaner, cease to do evil, learn to do well, for it is time to seek the Lord. May the Lord Jesus Christ grant you His free forgiveness at once, lest He condemn you to the lowest Hell.  Only the Holy Spirit can help you trust to the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and then give you sensitiveness to the evil of sin and tenderness to God's honor and reputation, and aid you in refraining from sinning against God.
