The Incarnate God 4

God became Incarnate and stooped from the throne of Heaven to the manger of Bethlehem's stable. God was made flesh and dwelt among us in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. Fully rely alone upon Jesus Christ for your full and free salvation. Implicitly trust the merits of His agonies. Without any other confidence, cast yourself fully upon the great atoning sacrifice of Calvary. Look away from all other confidences, look to Jesus now for pardon, complete pardon, pardon forever. Rely upon the sufferings and death of the Incarnate God, who has gone into heaven, who lives today to plead before the Father's throne, the merits of His precious blood which He poured out on Calvary for guilty sinners.

Only one thing kills the love of sin in your heart and mind, and that is the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Only the Cross can put your love of sin to death. Look to where Jesus died in your place. God wants us to trust His Son, God wants to destroy the works of the devil, that is sin, in us. God wants us to obey His words, seek His will and glory. Sin killed the Savior, so your sins should be repented of. Sin saps our strength and destroys our comfort and peace with God. Sin robs us of usefulness, sin is the foe of all that is good. Sin is the curse of curses, the fountain of hell, the heart of the devil. To the awakened sinner, sin is a burden, a misery, a horror, a nightmare which haunts him, he can never escape from sin on his own. Even forgiven sin, the memory of it makes a man go softly all his days. My sin is ever before me.

Sin killed Christ, let Christ kill your sins. Let sin have no throne or dominion in your heart. Sin crucified Christ, let your private lusts be crucified. Every wrong desire must be nailed up with Christ. Live for God's glory and man's good. Only the Grace of God can kill your sins. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. The love of Christ and sin are are like the two balances of a pair of scales. If sin goes up in our esteem, our love to Christ goes down. Whenever our love to Christ is going up, then sin must go down in the same proportion.

Christ Jesus, the eternal Son of God was born of a Jewish virgin named Mary and became a poor man. He lived here on earth a life of holiness, shame and suffering, and at the last He was nailed to the Cross. In agony Jesus died, He was buried, He rose again from the dead, He ascended into Heaven, He intercedes, He is coming again. And now God commandeth all men everywhere to repent. Whosoever believeth on the Son of God shall not perish, but have eternal life. God was manifest in the flesh - His name was Jesus. Christ was really and actually punished for your sins, and you cannot be punished if you trust Him, for God cannot punish your sins twice. Believe in Christ, cast your soul on His Atonement that He finished long, long ago. Your sin is as black as hell, and as wicked as Satan.

Believe that the Man who died on the Cross was God your Creator, and that He took your sins upon Himself and paid the full penalty due to your sins. Call upon Jesus' name, trust only in His name. Have reliance upon the blessed name of Christ. Sensible of your guilt, awakened to your imminent danger. Find your soul's delight in Christ Himself. Here is your sin's only remedy - Christ Jesus, the Son of God, became a Jewish man, born of virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, buried, and risen from the dead. Christ died on the Cross to save sinners, such as you are. You are nothing, take Christ Himself to be your Everything.

Jesus Christ, the High King of Heaven, left His heavenly kingdom and became a Jewish peasant. Deity became Incarnate. The iniquity of man like a huge load was laid upon Christ's shoulders, and He stood there before Pilate as the sinner's Substitute. Hell's waves rolled over His soul, the eternal wrath of God spent itself upon Jesus' head and heart. Justified by faith which is in Christ Jesus, and saved by the free mercy of God for Jesus' sake. Jesus suffered the curse which was due to lost men. Jesus the God-Man bled, died, and bore the wrath of God instead of me. Receive the free mercy of God as a poor, guilty, lost, helpless, undone sinner.

When it comes to Salvation - God must give all, Christ must be all, the Spirit must work all. Your Maker whom you have offended became human flesh. For my sake He suffered what I ought to have suffered. Salvation by the free mercy of God through Jesus Christ His Son. If salvation was by human merit at all, there would be no good news, but free and rich mercy is sweet to the guilty sinner's ear. Jesus stood in the place of guilty men and bore man's punishment so God might be just, and yet the Justifier of him that believeth on Jesus.

Divine justice owes you nothing but eternal death, mercy alone can spare you. Cast yourself upon the mercy of Heaven's court, ask for free, undeserved mercy, unspeakable mercy. God became a man, and loved His enemies to death and came to earth to rescue those sinners who rebelled against His authority. Doing better, straightening up, flying straight, turning over a new leaf, will not help you at all. Jesus loved guilty men, He suffered to the death for you.

Remember - Jesus saves from the power and practice of sin. Practice Christ, not sin. The Incarnate God had all human sin imputed to Him, all your transgressions were laid upon Him. You are either saved by grace or by works, but never by grace and works. If you miss the Gospel, you miss Heaven. Your feeble efforts are useless. He who only hath immortality condescended to die for sinners. Jesus is God, and He became a man to suffer in your stead.
