Your Main Problem

We're going to get down to bare metal now, and the sparks are gonna fly.  Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. The impure heart of an unregenerate man can't see God, their vision is darkened by their sins. The love of sin blurs and dims the vision of every godless man. Selfish men can't see their selfishness. Impure men can't see purity. Man looks on the outward, but God looks on the heart. God is looking on your heart right now. Your sins won't give you any rest, but Jesus will.  *Matthew 11:28* Every Christ-rejecting atheist is gone to the devil.

If you have the right kind of heart, you'll have the right kind of life. A foul mouth comes from a foul heart; dirty thoughts are the result of a dirty heart.  The mind doesn't make the heart dirty, it's the other way around, the heart makes the mind dirty. You need a change of heart, and only the Holy Spirit can do that for you.  Men are not wrong because they do wrong; they do wrong, because they are wrong. You do what you do, because you are what you are.  Only God's regenerating grace and cleansing blood can save you 'from' your sinful ways today.  Down deep within you where no religion can reach, ye must born again by the regenerating power of God the Holy Ghost.

You may have been strutting your doubts around for a long time, but the only thing really the matter with you is the sins you are committing and loving behind closed doors. You see, sin always works undercover, never out in the open. If you take a sinner and put him in heaven, he wouldn't be happy there at all with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and purity. A man that isn't right with God is very miserable around the things of Christ. There's only one thing that's really wrong with you, and that's your Sin. The problem is not in your head, the root problem is in your old dirty sinful heart. The Gospel gun always fills sinful men with holes, you just need to keep shooting, and they will either fall or run for the bushes. Again, there's nothing the matter with you, but Sin. By the way, your main problem will always be your Sins.

Focus now - Your chief problem is that you love darkness rather than light, because your deeds are evil. *John 3:19* The way of least resistance is Satanic, and that is the way of Sin.  Self-control and self-restraint is hated today.  If you're wondering if a thing is not right, then it's not right. Everything in this universe that's worth anything cost somebody something. Salvation from sin cost Jesus Christ His priceless life and blood.

You see, Jesus is my Hope; my Hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' Blood and Righteousness.  When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my Hope and Stay.  When Jesus shall come with trumpet sound, I will then in Him be found; dressed in His Righteousness alone, faultless to stand before God's great white throne.

Find out what's right and make up your mind to do it. The easy way is never the right way. If you get money the easy way, it usually curses you. There's no easy road for those who would be what God would have them to be. Real success for any man is finding out what God wants him to do, and then doing it - that's real success. Any man outside the will of God is a failure in this world. The devil is opposed to the will of God, and to all who would do God's will. The door to the room of success always swings on the hinges of opposition.

The lost man that wants to know the Truth (John 14:6) can know Him. You have trouble believing on Christ, because you love your secret sins. Go and try to fool your grandmother, but not us. If you'll pull up the old weeds of your doubts, you'll see they all have sinful roots. There's only one thing the matter with anybody, and that's sin, that's all, just the love of sin. Sin damns people, sin blinds sinners, sin makes you hate God and His words. Intellectual pride, secret sins, self-justification, an evil companion, or something in your past that you just won't get right; these are the things that will send you on to Hell where you belong. You deserve hell, but you don't have to go there. You're going to get what you deserve if you don't watch it. If you follow the bend and course of your sinful nature, it will destroy you morally and lead you into hell fire.

Jesus said what He meant, and meant what He said. You can be saved the moment you're willing to trust Jesus Christ and turn your back on your sins. You'll never get rid of your doubts, until you settle the sin question. When the sin question is settled, all your doubt questions will be settled. You need to be an honest truster, you need to tell Jesus Christ you know you're a sinner, ask Him to have mercy on you and forgive you. Come clean with the Man Christ Jesus who died for you. Draw nigh to God and ask Jesus to put your heart in a right relationship with Him, or you're a goner. You can be saved by Jesus Christ freely, because He suffered, bled, and died for you. And always remember, your main problem is your sins, not your neighbor's.

The Great Reconciler

You have lost your Creator.  You are distanced from God, for your sins have separated you from your Maker, and nothing will ever be really right with your soul until it is reconciled back to God by Christ Jesus.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the Great Reconciler; He is only the Person in the universe can bring you back in touch with God spiritually. Your indifference, unbelief, and your rejection of Christ are acts of high treason against the divine majesty of God.

You are like a lost sheep which has wandered away from its shepherd; like a rebellious child which has run away from home and is estranged from its father.  By nature, you live in a spiritual prison called Sin, and the only person who can rescue you from your bondage and slavery is the Lord Jesus Christ.  You must search for God, but do not look within for you are empty and void of anything God-like; for you are altogether estranged from God.  No sane man looks in an empty wallet over and over again expecting to find money there.  No man searches a graveyard for the living.  So never look to yourself for merit, Grace or Salvation.  Stop trying to perform good works that you cannot perform, hoping to better yourself and gain merit with God by your own exertions.  If you try to run your life, it will end up running you.  Let Jesus run your life.  If you try to save your own soul, you will lose it.  Let Jesus save your soul freely by His grace and power - that is all.

If you die unconverted, you will die twice, and the second death is to be feared the most.  Seek and find forgiveness by the Precious Blood of Christ Jesus.  Take heed, take heed, your damnation is growing nearer.  It is high time to awake out of your sinful stupor.  The atheist and religionist continually chooses to one his depraved imagination and not the mind of Christ, and chooses to be his own god.  The careless sinner does his best to try to shake off thoughts of death, judgment, and eternal wrath.  The dread of divine justice and eternal punishment for sinning haunts him day after day.  Every sin you've ever committed must receive a just recompense of reward.  Someone, someone has to pay for your sins.

The Precious Blood of God Incarnate has cleared my soul of all debt to divine justice.   You are at enmity with God, guilty of breaking His Law and rejecting His Son, and you are liable to His divine wrath.  Jesus endured the dreadful sentence of death which is attached to human sin.  The infinitely pure Savior suffered for the sinful. Jesus suffered on account of your sins against God.  He gave Himself for your sins, He yielded Himself to the death of the Cross.  You can surely trust your soul with such a Savior as Jesus the Lord.  Have your sins ever been forgiven freely by Jesus Himself?

The carnal mind thinks it can know God without Christ.  Your very best works while you are lost are only presumptuous sins which reject the Savior's Righteousness.  If you are currently unconverted, the wrath of God abides upon you, for God is angry with the lost sinner every day, and this is the most dangerous position a man can be in while here on Earth.  You have defied the wrath of God and dared Him day after day.  The only way you can you find the living God is in the Lord Jesus Christ, and there is nothing for you to do but to simply believe on Him.

Jesus saves us sinners by standing in our place and bearing the wrath of God on our behalf.  Jesus stepped into the sinner's place, and underwent the penalty of sin for the ungodly. Believe God's words about Jesus Christ, and then trust your soul with Jesus Christ, and free Salvation will be yours instantly.  What must I do to be saved from the love of sin?  How can I be at peace with God?  Who can take away my guilt?  Answer:  The Man Christ Jesus, the one Reconciler between God and sinful men. There's no time like the present - Look only to the great Reconciler, who is God manifest in the flesh, who bled to death to atone for your sins, The Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

After you are born again by the Holy Spirit, hold to the Cross, exalt the Precious Blood and Atoning Sacrifice, magnify the finished work of God manifest in the flesh, bid sinners to come and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, continually endeavor to bring the lost to the feet of the Savior.  The Gospel message must always be kept clear before the human mind; sinners must be reminded regularly that Jesus loved them enough to die for them.  The Gospel only exalts the Lord Jesus Christ.  Have faith in God Incarnate.  

Your righteousness is no good

O sinner friend! come to the Cross today; your sins are heavy and many; but the Atonement for them has been completed by the bloody death of Christ Jesus, God manifest in the flesh.  Your righteousness is no good.  Sinners cannot help save themselves.  Look to Jesus now, and remember that Christ needs nothing from you to supplement His Blood and Righteousness. The road between God and man is finished and open; the Robe to cover your nakedness is complete, without one rag of yours to add to it; the bath in which you can be washed is full, full to the brim, and needs nothing to be added to it. "It is finished!"  Let that ring in your ears, and sink down into your heart.

“It is finished!” Yes, indeed, Finished every jot,

Sinner, this is all you need, Tell me, is it not?

Weary, working, plodding one, Why toil you so?

Cease your doing, all was done - Long, long ago.

Till to Jesus’ work you cling, by a simple faith,

“Doing” is a deadly thing,

“Doing” ends in death.

Cast your deadly doing down, down at Jesus’ feet,

Stand in Him, in Him alone, gloriously complete.

Nothing but the blood of Jesus has in it the slightest saving-power.  Oh! if you are trusting in your baptism, your confirmation, or your Lord's Supper, you are trusting in a damnable lie. Nothing but faith in the Blood of Jesus can save such a sinner like you.  I care not how right the ordinance, or how true the form, or how scriptural the practice; it is all religious vanity, if you rely in it for the forgiveness of any of your sins.  Your sins against God are innumerable.  The ordinances have their place, but they cannot help save from Sin.  There is not the slightest speck of saving-power anywhere but in the blood of Jesus.  That atoning blood has the only power to save, and anything else that you rely upon shall be a refuge of lies.  Jesus is the Rock, and His cross-work is Perfect; but all other things are delusional daydreams; they will be swept away in the day when God shall come to try our works of what sort they are. The Precious Blood stands out by itself as the only Rock of Salvation.

This may be the first time you have heard the Gospel, and perhaps the last.  I beseech you in Christ's stead, that you receive His Atonement, and may the Spirit of God lead you to do so in sincerity and truth!  If you reject Christ's finished work, you are like a person who throws away the only life preserver that can keep him alive in an angry sea.  You put from you the only medicine under Heaven that can heal your sin-sick soul, for I am giving you the only Gospel in the whole wide world!  If any man preaches to you any other Gospel, let him be accursed!  You must believe in Jesus alone, and if you reject Him, you are lost, for there are no other ways of salvation for your soul.

The pride of human nature and self-righteousness clings to salvation by its own merits.  Every man is born a Pharisee.  Self-confidence and self-esteem is in his bone marrow.  You are saved not through your good works, not through anything that you can DO!  Not by the merit of anything which you FEEL or PERFORM, or PROMISE to perform, but by GRACE, by the free favor of God.  The channel of that grace is the Lord Jesus Christ who loved, and lived, and bled, and died, and rose again from the dead, and lives forevermore for your Salvation.  For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves:  it is the Gift of God:  not of works, lest ANY man should BOAST.  Sin has ruined every man, and he desperately needs Christ's free redemption and the Holy Spirit's miraculous regeneration.

Please submit to the Righteousness of God and give up trying to work your way to Heaven: self-salvation is a hopeless and futile effort.  You must leave off your doings altogether, in order to be saved from sin's penalty and power.  There must be a denial of all your vain doings. You must get Christ first, and then you may do as much as you like.  But you must not ever trust in any of your doings, see.  Your main business now is to lift up your heart to God, and send out an SOS (distress signal) to Jesus. *Romans 10:13*  See the Savior hanging on the Cross in your place, turn your eye to Him, and say, "Lord Jesus, I trust to You, for I have nothing else to trust to, and I rely on You; sink or swim, my Savior, I only trust only to You.  Lord Jesus, I am guilty as can be, I am vile and evil, but Thy Great Salvation is free; so in your all-abounding grace, Dear Lord, please remember and save me.  No more, O God, I boast no more, of all the good I have done; I quit the hopes I held before, and trust only to Your Son's blood and merits."  

None but Jesus, None but Jesus, 

can do helpless sinners good.

Still men will boast in what they can do, and mistake the path to Heaven to be a road paved by their own merits, and not a way that is sprinkled by the blood of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.  God must punish your sins, but He has laid the punishment on Christ, and whosoever believes in Christ is forgiven freely and instantly for Jesus' sake.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the Substitute for sinners, and you must simply trust in Him in order to be saved.  You reject the Gospel at your own peril.  God is ready to forgive you.  Just one look to Jesus' blood that flowed from the Cross, and your sins will disappear and be blotted out forever and ever.  Your conscience is faithful, it will continue to warn and condemn you until you trust in the Blood of Jesus alone.  

Christ Jesus’ Blood redeems us from the curse (condemnation) of the Law.  Christ has paid the ransom price in full with His own life’s blood.  The Law’s curse, penalty and dread are all vanquished in His Blood.  Jesus is the Passover Lamb that was slain to shield us from the wrath of God’s judgment.  Christ is the end of the law for Righteousness; that is, our righteousness is finished, and we are complete in Jesus.  Our High Priest has gone within the veil, the blood has been sprinkled on the Mercy Seat of God.  Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.  Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.  God said, “When I see My Blood, I will pass over you.”  Sinner friend, you need to come to the Cross at once for Shelter.  Sit down, rest, now, beneath the shadow of the Cross and look to Jesus alone for all your Salvation.  Come to the Cross and find the free forgiveness of sins low at the feet of Jesus.

If you die with Jesus’ blood on your hands, you will suffer Vengeance from God.  You need the Blood applied to your heart.  Water baptism can’t reach to the heart of a sinful man.  Come to Jesus for repentance, come to Him for a broken heart, come to be washed clean from your inward filthiness.  The Blood of Christ is the only heart changer and cleanser, period.

You may think you must feel something, or pray a certain way, but there is nothing for you to DO, Jesus did it all long, long ago – all your sins were laid on His back, and He suffered what you ought to have suffered.  He was wounded for our transgressions [violations of God’s law].  You have crossed the bounds of God's Law innumerable times throughout your life.  If I were about to die and only had a few words to say to you, I would say, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” "Faith in His Blood"  Eternal Life streams only from the veins and heart of Jesus in His Precious Blood.  This Blood is to be had, it can be obtained by Faith, Yes it is Free, free to every soul that believes in JESUS alone for eternal life.  Your righteousness is no good at all.  Turn your eyes to the full BLOOD AT-ONE-MENT made by God manifest in the flesh, and take His Precious Blood to be your only Hope.

Ignorant of God's Righteousness

The plan of salvation by Grace has this glory about it, that it gives men high thoughts of Christ Jesus.  In a religious system, their idea of God is that He is very much like themselves.  Look at the religionist's god.  That god can be pleased with baptism and church membership and good works—he is a god who likes their religion and their strivings and faithfulness.  They try to save themselves, and they pull down their god to their standard.  And every man who is a self-saver, lowers God in some manner.  The way of Cain is self-salvation.

Human nature believes that God will accept something short of perfection.  Each man has a different standard that he dreams up.  Once there was a miserly old gentleman—his standard is that he will build an orphanage with his filthy lucre and that would satisfy the Most High. Another says, “I will never open my store on Sunday.” Perhaps he cheats enough on Monday to make up for it, but on Sunday he rests—that will do for his god.  Another, who is living a wicked life in private, he believes in the doctrines and ordinances of his church, and thinks that will satisfy his god.  But the man who is saved by the Grace of God says, “My God is infinitely just. Nothing will content Him but a perfect Righteousness.  Nothing will please the God of glory but His Precious Son “alone.”  As a moral Lawgiver, He will not put away sin till He has laid punishment upon One who stood in the sinner’s place.  God so loved His enemies that He gave His Son. God is so just that He slew His Son on your behalf.

Don't die being “ignorant of God's righteousness.” See Romans 10:3-4.  There are many souls today who are ignorant as to the true Righteousness of God’s Character.  They do not know how intensely He hates sin, how His anger burns against injustice and untruth. They have never conceived an idea of how pure God really is, how infinitely holy. They have never understood words in Isaiah 6:  “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty.”  “You think,” says God, “that I am altogether such a one as yourself—that if you are pleased with your righteousness, I must be pleased with it, too.  And if your poor pride and dead conscience is satisfied, therefore God must be satisfied, also.”  You are satisfied with your own holiness, and you are ignorant of God’s perfect Righteousness!

Your salvation lies absolutely outside of yourself, in the Person and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and not in what you do, but in what He is. If you add to that foundation one stick or stone of your own—thought, feeling, or work of your own—by way of trusting in it you have spoiled the salvation of Christ!  It shall never be “Christ and Company.” Only Christ Himself, God manifest in the flesh, can save from the love of sin and the wrath to come.  Therefore be sure that if Jesus is to save you, you must let Him do it, and you must stand out of the way, see.

Human nature is ignorant of the righteousness of the Law of God.  You may hear the Ten Commandments read in church, or see them posted somewhere, but you will not know anything about them by merely reading them.  There is a depth of meaning in those Commandments, of which self-righteous persons are ignorant.  For instance, when they read, “Thou shall not commit adultery,” does it strike most men’s minds that even a lustful look breaks that Commandment?  Do they reflect that not only acts of fornication and uncleanness, but indecent words, thoughts and looks are forbidden by that Command?  

A man reads, “Thou shall not kill,” and he thinks to himself, “I never committed a murder."  But Christ says, “He that is angry with his brother, without a cause, is a murderer”—and hatred is the conception of murder.  Murder is but hate ripened into a deed and, therefore, the least degree of hate is a violation of the Commandment, “Thou shalt not kill.”  Let me stretch out the line before you for a moment. “Thou shalt love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Who among us has ever done that? The man who says, “I have kept the Law” is simply ignorant of God's Righteousness, which the Law of God sets before us as the Divine requirement!  You could never fulfill the Law in all its length, breadth, heighth, and depth, because you a sinner through and through.

A person that is self-righteous and hopes to get to Heaven by his works and his religion is ignorant of God’s righteous requirements with regard to his own heart.  God requires not only that you should do that which is right, but that you should think that which is right, that you should desire and love that which is right, yes, and that you should Be that which is right!  He desires His Truth in the inward parts and in the hidden part, He would have us to know His wisdom which is first pure.  

If you could entirely control your tongue, yet you would still be guilty before God, even with that tongue, for there is such a thing as idle silence as well as idle speech!  And God also hears all the words spoken in your mind, that you don't speak with your physical tongue.  If it were possible to keep the hands right in all things, yet the heart might, all the while, be willing and anxious to move the hands wrong, and after all, it is the way of the heart which is the true test of the man’s life. Unless you are clean through and through inwardly, in the core and center of your being, you have not reached to the righteous requirements of God. What do you say to this?

I know this may be upsetting you, but have patience with me a few minutes longer. Suppose that you were to get to Heaven in your way, what would happen?  I am afraid that holy place would become more than a little mixed up.  You will throw up your hands and say, “I have managed it, after all!” This will lead to a very speedy contest and quarrel.  You will begin to boast and glorify yourself, and depend upon it, the souls up in Glory are only saved by Grace, and they only glorify the Lamb of God! 

Our jealousy for Christ's Glory will not allow us to tolerate you in the courts of God! Our Lord is not going to have any discord in Heaven—we shall all sing the Lamb of God's praises there, or never sing at all! There will be no divided praise around the throne of God, and the praise shall be set to the tune of Salvation all of Grace. “Salvation to our God that sits upon the Throne, and unto the Lamb, forever and ever.”  Salvation is freely offered to you today, without money and without price, but men would like to pay for it at least with something from themselves. The sinful nature of man (the flesh) is at enmity with God and will not have salvation as free gift.  You have a zeal but not according to knowledge.  Please don't go about to establish your own righteousness, but submit yourself to the righteousness of God.  Come to the feet of Jesus at once, and simply yield to the Grace and Blood of God.

Christ's Righteousness, Not yours

Do you have true assurance of Salvation?  I have never met a religionist that has absolute assurance of salvation.  That is because they are trusting in many things:  not a Person - the Lord Jesus Christ.  Only the Holy Spirit can give a lost sinner salvation and His assurance, by unfeigned faith in the Finished Work of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Christ's work is finished, your works are defiled by sin and cannot establish true Righteousness for your soul.

All persons who are self-righteous must surely be ignorant of God’s righteousness in another sense, namely, they are ignorant that God has prepared a better Righteousness for them.  The Lord God has prepared for sinful man a Perfect and Divine Righteousness through His Son's sinless life and bloody death, by which He justifies the ungodly!  God has sent His own Son into the world, pure in heart and pure in life, to work out that Righteousness!  The Lord Jesus was whiter than snow in His heart every day He lived here on Earth.  This is the Righteousness that saves, not your dead works.

God's Son has kept the Law in every point, and He has honored the Law by His atoning death.  God now says to you, “Sinner, I can make you righteous through Christ—completely righteous by imputation (My Son must pay your debt).  I will impute to you what Jesus did for you.  I will accept you on account of what He is and of what He did. He shall be your Righteousness! He shall be made of God unto you, your Righteousness or you will perish.”

Now surely, if you say, “No, but I will have a righteousness of my own through the my religion,” why, you must be ignorant of God’s righteousness!  Would God have taken the trouble to make another Righteousness through His dear Son if you could have made one of your own?  Is not Calvary's cross, with all its griefs, sufferings and sorrows, complete foolishness, if you could be saved without it!  The death of Christ upon the tree was a needless act—if you could be saved without it!  And if any man can be saved without Christ—saved by his own works and saved by the principle of the Law—then for him Christ died in vain!  There was no need, in the first place, that Christ should have died for such a man—and to such a man Christ has died for nothing.

If you are righteous, you have nothing to do with Christ, for He is the Savior of sinners.  If you have a  righteousness of your own, you are an enemy of Christ!  You are holding up your two-bit garment of rags and saying, “This is as good as the Divine robe of Christ’s Righteousness.” You are trying to stitch together your poor fig leaves and you are saying, “This garment is good enough for me. I do not need to wear the robe of God, the garment of Christ.” But those leaves will wither before the sun goes down and leave you, to your shame, naked in the sight of a holy God!  Your self-righteousness is in direct opposition to Christ, you have the spirit of antichrist- you are an enemy of the cross of Christ—and your sin in setting up such a righteousness is perhaps greater than if you had lived in open sin, see!

Be Honest.  If you are a true religionist, you are worried about dying and facing God, because you have no real assurance of salvation.  Good works and baptism can't give an immortal soul assurance.  When you get tired of playing church and being religious, you need to seek the Living Savior who created you and died for you.  Do you know where you would go if died in a car wreck today?  Every red light, curve, and hill could be when you enter Eternity?  Are you ready?  What are you trusting?  Are you a self-saver?

God demands "absolute sinless perfection" to enter Heaven.  The only way to be Perfect in the sight of God is to receive a Perfect Righteousness by Faith (absolute trust).  Don't be deceived by a religion, trust in the Living Savior.  A church and it's teachings cannot save: only a living, personal Savior can bring a lost sinner to Heaven.  I have the seen storm that is coming in the Bible (the wrath of God on sin), and I have fled for Mercy and Shelter in the Rock of Ages - the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.  My hope is built on "nothing less" than Jesus' Blood and Righteousness.  In Christ the solid rock I hide, and only those sinners found in Him will safely abide.

Hopefully, your conscience will begin to cry out to you:  "Your religion will not do, you need a sure hope.” One day it will come time for you to die and your eyes will be opened and you will say:  "I cannot die with so poor a hope as this religion of mine!  Your little boat of my self-righteous religion will never carry you across the river of death and God’s wrath.  Your religious boat leaks very terribly, and will never make it through the billows of death.  What will you do?   Just like during Noah's day, many probably tried to build their own raft or boat after the rain started, but they utterly perished.  One day it will be too late for you.  Flee to the Mighty Refuge – the Cross of Christ.

Christ Receiveth Sinful Men

Christ receiveth sinful men, even me with all my sins.  The Gospel is only for the Guilty; God's Mercy is only for the miserable; His Pity is only for the penniless, the poor in spirit.  Have you ever come in contact with the Precious Blood of Christ by simple faith?  There is no 'physical water' on this earth that can bring you in contact with the Blood of God -- that is superstitious nonsense and blasphemous religiousness.  Americans today are very religious and superstitious; they think that their superficial good works are going to be accepted by a holy God.  They think that God is like them and that their own righteousness will help satisfy His Holiness and Justice.  Nothing you can ever do can satisfy the Justice of Almighty God - The Judge of all the Earth.

God sees and hears your thought life at all times.  The eyes of the Lord are in 'every' place beholding the evil and good.  He knows your thoughts afar off.  *Psalms 139* Only a man's self-righteousness can damn him, and only Christ's Righteousness can save him.  The Law of God shows you your sins, and your self-righteous works can never possibly attain the righteousness that is expected by a holy God to enter His Heaven.

Only the Lord Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, and loved the God the Father perfectly in all points.  I have received Christ Jesus' sinless perfection (Righteousness) and His Precious Blood shed on Calvary as my covering and shelter from the wrath of God on sin.  What exactly is your shelter from the wrath to come?  What are you trusting to to get you past the judgment of God?  Good works, baptism, repentance, belief, faithfulness to the end (or are you trusting the Lord Jesus Christ Himself)?  

Illustration:  You may believe in an elevator, but you have to get onboard to go upstairs.  The same is with the Lord Jesus, don't just believe in Him, commit your soul to Him, get onboard Him, and then He will take you up freely, just like a elevator, your works inside the elevator, don't help the elevator.  The power of the elevator takes you up, not your works.

The Blood of Jesus Christ is not simply the only thing that can save, but it must save alone. If you put anything with the Blood of Christ, and you are lost; if you trust to anything else with the Blood, you will perish.  You may say, "Baptism can help save me, and I will trust in that, and in Christ too."  If you do, you are lost.  God is jealous when it comes to Christ's blood, and anything you put with the Blood, however good you may think it is, becomes from the fact of your putting it with Him, a damnable and despicable thing in God's sight.  And just what is it that you would try to put with Christ?  Your good works? What! Will you try to sew your filthy rags to the robe of Christ’s Pure Righteousness.  You have ruined it, if you do.  Your righteousnesses [best works] are "as filthy rags;" and shall your filthy rags be joined to the spotless holy Righteousness of Christ?  Human goodness and human badness are the same thing - SIN.  It must not, and it shall not be joined to Christ.

When you are in your best state, remember you are still altogether vanity.  Rely on Jesus only, and you cannot perish; but rely on anything with Him, and you are as surely damned as if you should rely upon your sins.  Jesus only—Jesus only—Jesus only—this is the Rock of Salvation.  The only pillar of your hope of Salvation must be the Cross, and anything else of your own self-goodness that you to try to support up the cross of Christ with is abominable to God, and ceases to have any virtue in it, because it is an anti-Christ.  This Man Christ Jesus receiveth sinners.

The Blood of Christ, then alone, saves; but put anything with it, and it does not save. "Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to thy Cross I cling."  This is the heart of it all.  If you want to get rid of the guilt of your sins, you must believe in Jesus Himself alone.  It is all there in that pierced heart and blood of Jesus on the cross of Calvary.  It is all there in that crimson flow opened on Calvary’s bloody tree.  Look to Jesus, behold the Lamb of God, and your soul shall be saved!  This is Glorious Gospel in a nutshell. “There is life in a look at the Crucified Creator.”  Study that truth closely and cast away your filthy garment as Blind Bartimaeus did and get to Jesus Christ for your spiritual sight, or you will die as a fool dieth.  Christ receiveth sinful men, even me with all my sins.  Soli Autem Crucis!

The Love of Christ

Think of the love of Christ for a moment.  The Word was made flesh and dwelt among of us.  God Incarnate dwelt among us here on Earth for 33 years.  He was born of a virgin; He lived in humility as a poor man, a friend of sinners, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, despised and rejected of men.  Christ Jesus, the ever blessed Creator, to whom no pain, suffering, or shame should ever come, bled and died for His enemies.  Jesus loved guilty men.  Jesus loved you to death on purpose.  Jesus loved you only because He loved you, not because there is anything good in you.  Run from your love for sinning, and run to the love for Christ Jesus.  Jesus has a lot of Love to give away to sinners.

God so loved poor fallen man, that He took upon Himself our nature and actually became a man.  Being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and was made of no reputation.  Christ came under the Law, and kept it perfectly by His active and passive obedience.  He fulfilled all the Law's commands and bore all its penalty on our behalf.  He was persecuted, threatened, and then taken before human judges and unjustly condemned.  He was seized by His captors, the Roman soldiers; they hurried Him to the high priest, Herod and Pilate where He was falsely accused for crimes He never committed.  The soldiers crowned Jesus with thorns, and whipped Him with a scourge.  He was nailed to a Cross, hung up as a felon and numbered with the transgressors.

The Savior endured the shame and spitting, the jeers and jibes, the cruel looks, and malicious speech and taunts.  He bled away His life for your sins, bearing almighty wrath, and enduring the dreaded sentence of eternal death which is attached to your sins.  Jesus hung upon the Cross, and bleeds and dies.  God is glorified at Calvary for divine justice has its due and Law's demands were vindicated.  Divine Justice was satisfied at the Cross by the Lamb of God all by Himself.

Then Jesus' mangled body was laid in a borrowed tomb for three days.  Then the third morning He came back to life and actually and really rose from the dead bodily.  The best news this world ever heard came from a graveyard delivered by a woman named Mary.  Low in the grave He lay, waiting the coming day. Vainly the soldiers rolled the stone over the face of the tomb and put Pilate's seal upon it, but Death could not keep the Resurrection and the Life in the grave.  Jesus tore away the bars of death. Up from the grave He arose with a mighty triumph over sin, death, and hell.  He arose a Victor from Death itself, and now He is alive forevermore, and is reigning and interceding at the right hand of God in glory.  Hallelujah Christ Jesus is risen from the dead!  He did all this for your soul.  *Soli Autem Crucis - The Cross Alone*
