According to the Holy Scriptures in the King James Bible, every unregenerate (unsaved) soul is spiritually dead inside and under the wrath of God (John 3:36; Ephesians 2:1); this is the true spiritual reality of the soul without Christ. The call of the Gospel is to arise from the dead, from the graveyard to the land of the living. Renounce your dead works that are leading you into worse darkness. Dead works are conviction checklists based on self-effort, slavish fear, guilt, religious rituals, and self-reformation done by the dead soul trying to establish their own righteousness (Romans 10:3).
