Sin has the essence of evil in it. Sin is an exceeding bitter thing, a deadly evil, a moral poison, the essence of hell. Every sin you commit is the venom of rebellion; every sin is a traitorous rejecting of God. The most detestable, obnoxious, dreadful thing in the whole world is my moral evil. The mother of all evil, the egg of all mischief, the fountain of all bitterness, the root of all misery, the essence of hell, is my sin against God. Sin is a damnable thing.

Get rid of your resentment, grudges and bitterness at the foot of the Cross.
The hardest possible act for human nature is to simply trust, believe, receive and rely on Jesus Himself. Leaning upon the great Substitute with all the burden of my guilt.
