Man's prejudice of God, love of sin, pride, falsehood, enmity to God, covetousness, worldliness, carelessness, indifference, idleness, superstition, impurity, unbelief, and hardness of heart keeps him from trusting and loving his Best Friend. Lost men seek to drive the Savior away, and they wish to avoid Him, and be rid of Him. They cannot endure Christ's presence. The man that loves his sin is a child of the devil. Every atheist spits in the face of his Maker, and despises and disregards the God who created him - this is the soul-damning sin. Sin or the Savior? It's your choice.
The Creator, Jesus Christ, dwelt in human flesh. He who made the heavens and the earth came down to live here as a man, and bleed and die upon a Cross, in order that He may save lost and needy sinners. You must lean fully on Jesus for everything. Fling away your love of sin and the love of your own righteousness. You can be saved from your love of sin and the power of it by looking only to Christ. The love of sin only dies at the Cross, and there at Calvary your lusts and idols are subdued by divine love and blood. Men love darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil. You must be saved from your love of sin and old habits, give up your old sins and be led by the impulse of Christ's love. Seek after purity, and forsake your old dirty ways.
Christ and His precious blood must come between you and your sins. You must take your bad habits directly to Jesus, ask Him to conquer them. Jesus must do it, and He must get all the praise. The Holy Spirit must lay His axe to the root of your lusts, drinking, swearing, greed, dishonesty, evil passions, corrupt desires, vile affections, filthy memories, profane thoughts, impure imaginations, rebellion, obstinacy, and selfishness. Your only hope is the work of the Spirit. Sin is a deadly and damning thing. Your evil and unclean habits must be repented of. Don't fling away your immortal soul for the sake of a few temporal sinful pleasures. Only the blood and wounds of Jesus can cure your love for sinning. The way to Heaven is through Christ's bleeding wounds. Stop trifling on the very verge of eternal death and hell. You must fear sin or it will damn your soul - A dove is so afraid of a hawk that it is frightened at the very sight of a hawk's feather.
Only the love of God will drive out the love of sin in your life. Jesus is the Savior of sinners, He is able to save the guilty to the uttermost. Every atheist who hears the Gospel message, that is, Christ Jesus died to save guilty sinners freely through faith in His sinless blood, is responsible for what he heard. Now the atheist who refuses to believe the Gospel, is responsible to God His Maker for his rejection of Christ. The man that rejects Christ doesn't really feel that he is guilty in the sight of God, because he is dead in his sins. Self-righteousness lies concealed far down in his dark heart. The self-righteous man will not admit that he needs divine mercy, or accept free salvation that is available now to guilty sinners through the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ. The *glad tidings* of the Gospel is a finished salvation for lost sinners, a complete forgiveness for guilty and worthless wretches, and an acceptance and adoption of the ungodly by simply believing on Jesus. Every atheist is a careless lover of sin, and he will not hear of repentance, and he detests a Crucified God. The atheist thinks that purity is slavery, and he hugs his darling sins so tightly, he will not give up his lusts. Your love of sin will bring you into an Eternity of Hell. Simply put - Atheists are sin-loving, God-hating wretches that think they came from a monkey and are going to die like a dog. But all fools make a mock at sin, and be sure your sin will find you out at the Judgment, when God brings up every secret thing when you give account of yourself to your Maker.
Only the shed blood of the living God can take away your guilt and love of sin. When you see Christ bearing your burden of guilt, and trust Christ as your Burden-bearer, your sin-burden will be all gone. There is a load of sin on you now, but if you look to Jesus by simple faith, and Jesus Christ by His power will take your load of sin upon Himself, and then there no longer will be a load of sin on your soul. This is the grandest of all God's works and transactions, when He takes sin off the sinner, and lays it upon His Sinless Son. All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way, and the Lord hath laid on Jesus the iniquity of us all. God hath made Jesus to be SIN for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the Righteousness of God in Christ. Men quarrel with the Gospel, because it is so simple. You soul is as black as night in sin, but the moment you look to Christ, you become whiter than snow within.
The vital essence of the Gospel is Substitution. Christ suffers instead of the guilty sinner. Christ's sufferings are the only cure for your love of toying and trifling with sin. God the Creator, the Provider, the Judge of all, became a Jewish man, and took upon Himself our nature at Bethlehem, and then He took upon Himself our sins and shame at the Cross. Your sin cost Christ everything. Believe the Gospel Medicine to be true, then you must take the medicine into yourself by faith. Take Christ, receive Him. Whosoever will, let him take the Gospel Medicine freely. Rely only upon the merit of Christ's Blood and Righteousness. Trust your needy soul with Christ, Rest your guilty soul on Him personally. It's your choice, either love your sin, or trust and love the Savior.
