See Romans 3:23-25 for Incredibly Specific Instructions: For all have sinned, and come short of the GLORY of God; being justified FREELY by His Grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a PROPITIATION through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.
Now Understand: The GLORY OF GOD is His Infinite Standard of Absolute Divine Perfection.
* The Absolute Benchmark:* The "Glory of God" is the sum total of all of JEHOVAH'S infinite attributes—His blinding holiness, absolute purity, flawless justice, unsearchable wisdom, and majestic perfection. When God looks at humanity, He does not measure us on a sliding scale against other fallen men; He measures us against His own eternal, unblemished standard which is Christ Jesus.
*The Infinite Deficit:* To "come short" means to fall behind, miss the mark, or fail to reach the required measure. Because natural man is corrupt to the core and drinks iniquity like water, human nature is utterly incapable of attaining or reflecting the Glory of God. Our best works, moral achievements, and self-righteousness are like a flickering match held up against the blazing noon sun.
*The Complete Bankruptcy of Human Pride:* All boasting is demolished. Romans 3:23 serves as an absolute leveler. It strips every single human being—religious or irreligious, moral or immoral—of any ground for pride.
*The Warning of Condemnation:* To imagine that you can stand before a holy God on the merits of your own character or good deeds is to be completely blind to the terrifying gap between human sinfulness and divine glory/perfection. The warning is that anyone who refuses to acknowledge their deficit and insists on presenting their own "righteousness" will find themselves weighed in the balance of God's Glory and found hopelessly wanting.
The Loss and Desolation of the Adam's Fall in Eden:
*The Image Shattered:* In creation, man was originally designed to image and reflect the glory of God. But when Adam sinned, that internal mirror was shattered. Sin introduced an alien darkness into the soul.
*Alienation from the Life of God:* To fall short of God's Glory means being spiritually cut off from the indwelling presence of God, wandering in the vanity of a blinded mind, and facing the terrifying reality of eternal separation from His presence in the lake of fire, the second death. The soul left to itself is utterly bankrupt of divine glory.
Restoring Fallen Sinners to God's Glory
*Christ the Radiance of God's Glory:* If man cannot reach the glory of God by his own efforts, how can he ever be saved? The staggering answer of the Gospel is that **Christ came to bridge the infinite gap.** The Lord Jesus Christ is "the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person" (Hebrews 1:3).
*Clothed in Imputed Splendor:* When a helpless, guilty sinner stops trusting in his own filthy rags, renounces all human merit, and trusts entirely in the FINISHED Atonement and *PRECIOUS BLOOD* of Jesus Christ, a miraculous ETERNAL exchange takes place.
*The Ultimate Restoration:* God does not merely pardon the sinner; God justifies the sinner Freely by His Abundant Grace, strips away the sinner's spiritual bankruptcy, and clothes the Soul in the perfect, radiant RIGHTEOUSNESS of Christ Jesus, The Lord of GLORY. Through THE CROSS, ruined rebels who once came infinitely short of the glory of God are brought into eternal fellowship with The Father of Glory, destined to partake in His Glory forever!
To be "Justified" is not merely to be pardoned or let off with a warning; it is a definitive, unalterable legal declaration by the Judge of all the earth that a guilty, bankrupt sinner is forever Righteous in His sight.
The Grace of God is Absolutely Free: Romans 3:24 emphasizes that God's Justification is only bestowed **freely** (meaning as a free gift, without cause, gratis, costing the receiver absolutely nothing). Why? Because the natural man is spiritually dead, completely bankrupt, he drinks iniquity like water, he can bring zero merit, zero works, and zero righteousness to the courtroom of heaven. If justification could be earned, merited, or bought through religious performance, human effort, or sacraments, it would no longer be Grace. God justifies the ungodly strictly out of the boundless Riches of His own Mercy, entirely apart from human ability/worth.

There is imminent Eternal Danger involved with human self-justification and the despising of God's Blood which was shed by God manifest in the flesh.
The Condemnation of Human Merit: Any attempt by sinful man to establish his own righteousness—whether through moral compliance, religious ritual, or human penance—stands in direct, violent opposition to God's *Free* Justification. To try to pay for your own sins or add your own works to THE CROSS is to insult the Finished Atoning Work of Christ Jesus, God Incarate.
The Warning of Unpunished Sin: Romans 3:25 notes that God displays His Righteousness specifically in the *"remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God."* A holy God cannot simply sweep your sins under the rug or wink at your iniquities. The sobering warning is that outside of God's prescribed Propitiation (Peace Offering), every sin you've ever committed must face the unsparing, infinite wrath of divine justice. To reject God's Propitiation (Christ Jesus) is to choose to face that wrath unprotected.
Propitiation and the Altar of Substitution:
The Mercy Seat Fulfilled: The word translated "Propitiation" points directly back to the Mercy Seat of the Old Testament ark, where the high priest sprinkled blood once a year to cover the broken law. In the inner sanctuary of divine holiness, justice and mercy meet.
The Stripping of the Human Ego: Spiritually, understanding the Propitiation forces the egotistical human soul down into the dust of total helplessness. It means realizing that you cannot appease a holy God by your own tears, promises, religiousness, or reformation. Your inner man must abandon every "lying vanity" of self-worth and look entirely outside of yourself to an external Substitute, The Lamb of God. Not just believing in God, Not just believing in JESUS, but very specific Faith in HIS BLOOD. This is when the sparks fly. In Exodus 12, GOD said to the Hebrews, "When I see the blood of the Passover lamb, I will pass over you. But now in 2026, GOD says to whole world, "When I seen the Blood of the LAMB OF GOD, My wrath will pass over your Soul. God is looking for your self-goodness, He is looking only for HIS BLOOD shed by His Precious Son, The Lord Jesus Christ. Take it, or leave it.
Redemption and Faith in God's Blood:
*The Price Fully Paid:* This free Justification is anchored entirely in *"the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus."* Redemption means a ransom price has been paid down in full to buy slaves out of the slave-market of Sin. That Ransom was not silver or gold, but the very life-blood of the Creator.
*Faith in His Blood:* God set forth Christ publicly on THE CROSS as the literal Atoning Sacrifice to absorb God's burning wrath against your vile sins. Notice that justification is received specifically through *Faith in his Blood.* The sinless Blood of God represents the violent, substitutionary death of the sinless Lamb of God yielding up His physical life-force to pay your infinite sin debt.
*The Great Exchange:* When a ruined, guilty sinner stops trusting in himself, drops his self-righteous weapons of rebellion, and places his whole, undivided Trust into the redeeming Blood of Jesus Christ, God instantly imputes His perfect righteousness to that sinner's account. The full penalty is paid, the debt is canceled, the court case is dismissed which demanded the eternal death penalty, the soul is washed clean, and the truster in GOD'S BLOOD stands justified forever—not by works of righteousness which you've has done, but wholly and freely by the precious blood of the Lamb of God.
