For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures. And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto HIM which died for them, and rose again. Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to Whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.
For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be Lord both of the dead and living. Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. I lay down My Life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. Destroy this temple, and in three days, I will raise it up. He is not here: for HE IS RISEN, as He said.
From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto His disciples, how that He must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: and they shall kill Him, and the third day He shall be raised again. The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.
For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. For though He was crucified through weakness, yet HE LIVETH by the power of God. Where He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by HIM, seeing HE EVER LIVETH to make intercession for them. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that HE might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.
Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that He should be holden of it. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; and killed the Prince of Life, Whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. Unto you first God, having raised up His Son Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. HE IS RISEN: HE is not here.
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Whom ye crucified, Whom God raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, Whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one JESUS, which was dead, Whom Paul affirmed to be alive. And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; Whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed Him openly; not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with Him after He rose from the dead.
But God raised HIM from the dead. God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that He hath raised up JESUS again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art My Son, this day have I begotten Thee. And as concerning that He raised HIM up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, He said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. But He, Whom God raised again, saw no corruption. Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through THIS MAN is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins. because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in Righteousness by THAT MAN Whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised HIM from the dead.
But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead. Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over Him. Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to Him Who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. He is not here, but is Risen.
But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD JESUS, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised HIM from the dead, thou shalt be saved. And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by His own power. We have testified of God that He raised up Christ.
Knowing that He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. Which God wrought in Christ, when He raised HIM from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places. Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with HIM through the faith of the operation of God, Who hath raised HIM from the dead.
And to wait for His Son from heaven, Whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel. Who by Him do believe in God, that raised HIM up from the dead, and gave Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. I AM HE that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I AM ALIVE for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
*HE EVER LIVETH*
