CUT TO THE HEART

The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them. When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees. And David's heart smote him. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. Holy Ghost, please make my heart your haunt.

When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. Wherefore I abhor myself, ad repent in dust and ashes. They were pricked in the heart. I was pricked in my reins. It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And as he reasoned of Righteousness, Temperance, and Judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee. But he is Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise if not of men, but of God. The Circumcision made without hands.

The Divine Physician's scalpel is the word of God operated by the Holy Spirit. Dr. Law first opens me up and clearly reveals to me my sick, sinful heart; but Dr. Grace gently creates in me a clean heart. The Operation of God: The washing of Regeneration, and Renewing of the Holy Ghost.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand. And He hath made my mouth like a sharp sword. I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth. War a good warfare.

Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another. There remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption. And Paul trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do? Then the Philippian jailer called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, and brought them out, and said, Sirs what must I do to be saved? But to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word

He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses: and he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servant and his cattle in the field. Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And He had in His right hand seven stars: and out of His mouth went a sharp twoedged sword
