A man who is tired throughout the day will always look for a chair to rest his body on. Christ Jesus is the CHAIR for your weary soul to rest upon - come now, humble yourself and sit down and Rest on HIM. Place your faith in the CHAIR of God. Sit down on what JESUS CHRIST has done for you; rest and repose your heavy laden soul on His perfect finished Cross-work. This Chair will hold you up, and give your guilt-ridden soul sweet relief. Believe JESUS can hold your soul up now in time, in death, and in Eternity. Sit down ON what He has done for you. Believe ON HIM! Place all your faith in JESUS' blood alone for the free and full forgiveness of sins. Salvation is a Gift offered to everybody, but it is granted only to helpless sinners that rely upon Christ alone for free salvation. Every sinner can be forgiven and pardoned freely and forever. My God died for my sins, I trust HIM, and now I am FORGIVEN! FREE! RESCUED! SAFE!Everybody ought to hear the Gospel. To put it simply, Christ Jesus IS the Gospel, and the Gospel IS Christ Jesus Himself. We don't believe in a plan, we trust our soul with a living Person. We don't follow a human method, we follow the Merciful Mediator. We don't adhere to, submit to, or believe in a religion; we adhere to, submit to, and believe in the Risen Redeemer. It is important what you believe; but it is most important WHO you believe in. Christ is God in the flesh crucified and risen from the dead to rescue sinners from the wrath of God they deserve. Distraction and deception leads the sinner's mind away from the Gospel. Knowing the terror of the Lord, we persuade sinners to the Cross. Sin, judgment, and the coming wrath of God is not palatable. Today, man thinks he is sovereign, not God. If you reject Christ, you are still in your sins and you will perish in the Lake of Fire. External religious activity does not produce internal eternal life. You can never earn mercy and peace from God. Christ Himself is the sum and substance of the Gospel. Mercy and peace with God comes through Jesus Christ's shed blood alone.
Miserable sinners will be eternally damned unless they find the Sinless Substitute who died for them. Your merits can never satisfy the Just Judge, God Almighty. Christ must intervene for your guilty soul. Jesus Christ became Sin for us that we might become the Righteousness of God in Him through Faith in His Shed Blood. The Righteousness of Christ must be imputed to your guilty, unrighteous soul. When you place faith in Christ alone, God subtracts all your sins from your account, and He adds, imputes, deposits into your account, His Righteousness. The only thing you can offer to Christ is your SIN, and the only thing Christ can give to you is His RIGHTEOUSNESS. The Gospel is revealed by and received through Faith and lived by Faith. Salvation is faith alone in Christ's Precious Blood alone as revealed in the Scriptures alone. The justified soul shall live by Faith. Be obedient to Christ's will and purpose, and give all the Glory to Him. The Gospel always points us to the Person who died for us.
Misguided carnal passion and godless human ambition leads blinded sinners over the cliff of death into the lake of fire. We should be consumed by the Gospel, and gripped by the Good News. Man today is exposed to utter wickedness and depravity, drunkenness is encouraged, obsessed with evil desires, driven by entertainment, and led away by thoughtlessness. Remember now, Allah and Buddha or the Pope don't have any good news for sinful humanity. Men today are lost and wandering, wicked and uncertain. The Gospel confronts the sinner with his depravity and danger, and calls you to leave sin and come to Christ Himself. The Gospel is intimidating, offensive, and foolish. But to the man who is sick of his sins, laden down with guilt, and that realizes that there must be something more to this life than the vain pursuits of self, the Gospel to this weary man is good news of sin washed away, and guilt freely pardoned and put away through the sufferings, blood and death of God manifest in the flesh - Jesus Christ. The Gospel never pampers to sin, it always calls you to forsake your sins and trust and follow Jesus Christ.
The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Salvation means to be rescued and freed from the bondage and slavery of your sins. You need to be saved from the love and practice of sin. You don't need to turn over a new leaf or become religious. You need to fear yourself, and flee the judgment and wrath of God to come. The world mocks the Gospel that calls all mankind sinful and says they are all in need of divine forgiveness. You must be Rescued from danger and the eternal penalty of sin in the lake of fire. You need to be saved from this crooked and perverse generation that is persuading and distracting you away from Christ. You are a sinner and you can do nothing to please God, 'but' trust His Son to save your sinful soul. You can never repay God for His mercy. Go and help those around you and that can't pay you back. That's what God did for you, and you will never be able to pay JESUS back.
The Gospel is only for lost wretches who are self-condemned sinners. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. The world doesn't like the Gospel at all. The Gospel is offensive and confrontational; it doesn't deliver you a dose of self-help. The Gospel doesn't say to do this and that good work, it simply says to admit that you're completely sinful, that you are helpless to save yourself. You must admit your need of rescuing, and you must acknowledge you are in dire need of THE SAVIOR of sinners. You have to come to Jesus Christ as a beggar, offering HIM nothing but your sins and depravity and failures. Come to Jesus' Blood now. You must receive from Christ ALL your salvation from sin, or you will get nothing at all from HIM. The self-righteous sin-loving human heart kicks at the Gospel message. Have you ever been saved from the love of sin?
You must throw all your good works, morality, and religious accomplishments away forever and come to the Cross as a no-good sinner. Nothing but a sinner deserving God's eternal wrath - Is that you? This is the call of Gospel - Come to Jesus and simply trust HIM to save your soul. If you disbelieve and reject Christ, you will remain lost and end up dying in your sins. The ground at the foot of the Cross is level - we are all needy and helpless sinners there.
Simply exercise personal faith and trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Believe means to Trust in and completely Rely only upon Jesus Christ Himself. Many people today have two saviors - They believe in Jesus and they are also trying to do a lot of good things to finish up where Jesus left off. If this is your profession, you are lost for sure. There can only be One Savior in a sinner's life. Come now, and sit down in the CHAIR and rest your soul on Christ Jesus (Matthew 11:28). Believe ON HIM! And Glory and Thanks be unto God!
