All men are lost and condemned in their Sin, there is no difference, all are guilty and under the wrath of God. But Christ Jesus came into the world, God manifest in the flesh, He took upon Himself human flesh; our Maker became a man. He lived here on Earth for 33 years in poverty, obscurity, sorrow, and persecution, until at the last He was betrayed, tried, beaten, and crucified by sinful hands. Jesus became Sin for us, He took the curse and wrath of my sins.
In selfless love, Jesus bore the awful weight of my sins, every foolish word, every unclean thought, every evil deed. God the Father laid on Jesus the iniquity of us all. On the Cross, Jesus suffered what every sinner ought to have suffered. God meted out the harsh sentence of eternal death due to my sins on Jesus. What God's justice must inflict upon every man's sin, He inflicted upon Christ as He bore our sins in His own body on the tree. Now whosoever will come unto God by Jesus through the way of the Cross may come freely. Whosoever by Faith will hide himself in the wounds of of Jesus shall be free from the vengeance and wrath of God on human sin. Jesus paid the terrible price for your sins with His own innocent Blood. The word of reconciliation is simply this - Full, immediate, and eternal reconciliation to God is now available to whosoever by faith in the blood of the Incarnate God.
O sinner, there is free and full forgiveness through the shed blood of Jesus. There is mercy, grace, pardon, Heaven, Eternal Life, for every sinner who believes in Jesus, the Great Substitute for human sin, and there is no other way of Reconciliation to God under heaven.
By the bloody sweat of Gethsemane, the crown of thorns, His five dear wounds, His agonies and sorrows, that God has removed all hindrances to your Reconciliation by the finished work of Jesus Christ. God Himself has given to you His dear Son, and He suffered in His Son that you might be reconciled to Himself. Jesus died for you to satisfy God's recompense on sin. God, in the person of Jesus of Nazareth, bore the full penalty which divine justice demanded of sinful men.
Oh that you would come to Jesus and be reconciled to God through the Blood and Righteousness of of His Son. God not only makes us righteous, but Righteousness itself, the Righteousness of God in Jesus, this Righteousness is higher and more divinely perfect than the righteousness of Adam or angels. When the guilty sinner believe in Jesus, God makes that sinner to be the Righteousness of God in Christ. The Gospel points you directly to the Lamb of God's Atoning Blood. *John 1:29*
The Great High Priest offered up Himself as a sinless sin-offering. Jesus' doing and dying made an end to all my sins. My sinful soul is made free in Christ, because God the Just Judge looks on Jesus and pardons me freely. Jesus forgave and purchased my soul with His own blood. Your religious vanities can never appease an offended holy God. Come to the Cross without preparation, defiled, filthy, lost, polluted, miserable, ruined, and wretched. Place all your trust on what Jesus has done, and you are reconciled to God instantly. Proud, confident, self-assured sinners wind up in the Lake of Fire.
The Gospel says, Jesus took all the punishment reserved for your sins, and there's nothing for you to do but trust to what Jesus endured in your place. Jesus took the blame for all my sins; He completely satisfied the wrath of God toward human sin by laying down His life for us. If you are a very good person and have no sins, and have not done much wrong, and are as nearly as good as you ought to be, you only have a little to say about the Blood of Christ. But if the Holy Ghost reveals your sinfulness to you, the Blood of Christ will be your only boast.
The Lord Jesus Christ did not come to aid you in your self-sufficient endeavors to save yourself. This is directly opposite of the Gospel of Christ. There is no improving your old nature, no mending it up, that is a hopeless effort on your part. Ye must be born again. A new creature is required, not an improvement of the old creature. Simply trust to Christ who saves the lost freely. You have tried to be your own savior; you have tried to repair yourself; you have set up your own righteousness in opposition to Christ's Righteousness, which is a dire insult to God's person. Forsake your pride, and come to the Cross, for Jesus is ready to forgive even you. If you go about to establish your own righteousness, you shall surely perish, because you have rejected the Righteousness of Christ.
No man will ever look to the Righteousness of Another (JESUS) while he remains satisfied with his own righteousness. A man will never renounce his self-righteousness until the Holy Ghost helps him see his sinfulness. Every man thinks he has a sufficient righteousness of his own until he sees his sins in their natural hideousness. Until sin is revealed to a man as a hateful evil, he will never come to Christ. A man must be made to see that his heart reeks with evil, and that his past life is defiled with iniquity, and you must be taught that your sins are no trifling thing, but a vile and detestable thing to God. God uses broken things, broken soil produces a crop, broken clouds give rain, broken seed gives bread, and broken bread gives strength.
You must first begin to loathe yourself, and then flee to the atoning blood for cleansing and refuge. Your sins must be seen first, and then grace, mercy and forgiveness is sought from Christ. Nothing of all God's goodness and mercy could ever be deserved by you. Divine Charity must clothe you, grace must feed you, and mercy must satisfy your soul-thirst. Let others boast if they dare of what they have done for themselves, let others talk of the dignity of human nature, let them glory in the worthiness of their own actions and efforts. But God forbid that I should glory save in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Bleeding Love that flowed from Calvary's Cross to such poor, unworthy sinners, such as I am. Through Jesus' Precious Blood alone, divine mercies come to sinners.
