This earthly life of ours is very brief and frail and fleeting. One moment here, and then gone forever. The thoughtless worldling says, "Get all the toys you can; go for the gusto, let the good times roll." If you are running after the vanity of this world, you are wasting precious time and health, you are placing value on the worthless, and disregarding priceless wealth. The atheist and religionist is presuming on his soul and Eternity. Human nature is infatuated with who you are, what you have, and what you've accomplished. Atheism is a dead end street that winds up in the lake of fire. Carnal pleasure, stuff, status and titles never satisfy. Alcoholism and workaholism is nothing more than a cover up for men running from themselves, their family, and from God. If there is some private sin you refuse to let go of, your conscience reminds you of it even now.
Now understand - Only God's providence is preserving you right now. You don't even know what will happen tomorrow, much less next year. Just a little blood test, just a slight malfunction of an aircraft, just someone not paying attention and running a red light, and your life could be snuffed out in a second. Face up to what you don't know, face up to your frailty, and face up to the fact that you are entirely dependent upon the personal, living, and merciful Creator. Only if God is willing, will there be a tomorrow for you. God spares you everyday that you live. Only if God spares you, and grants you health, will live to see the light of tomorrow. Atheists choose to live under their own rule and love their sins. The mercy of God is allowing you to take another breathe, and gives you another chance to hear the Gospel and trust the Lord Jesus Christ's Blood to take away your sins forever.
The contemporary atheistic lifestyle resists truth, chooses not to think of reality at all, and flees from the facts of death and Eternity. The fascination with healthcare today is based primarily on the fact that man is so frightened and has absolutely no answer to death. You can't avoid these facts - Life's brevity, death's reality, judgment's certainty, faith's opportunity. You now have the opportunity to completely reject yourself, and implicitly trust God's Son. Salvation is of free grace, gratis, free of charge, out of the pure kindness of God. Human nature hates the very thought of taking the free forgiveness of sins from God through the shed Blood of His Dear Son, Christ Jesus - God manifest in the flesh.
You don't want to lose your soul. You better take care of business. Deny yourself - get off the throne of your life. Give up your life - Let Christ rule over you. You need a living relationship with the living God - Christ Jesus. Be wise now - Take the Heavenly Handout freely from the pierced hand of Christ, for you are spiritually destitute and bankrupt. Repent toward God your Maker, turn from your love of sinning for it is damning, forsake your self-righteousness for it is worthless - Trust Christ's Precious Blood now, look unto Jesus alone for free forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
