Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. By the help of the Spirit of Christ, I want to be honest and sincere, clear of all subtlety and craftiness, transparent as glass before the LORD. I seek to be free of guile, so the LORD will reveal Himself to me, and reveal Himself to others by me. If I meddle with sins privately, then people may not see the LORD through me as they ought, and that would be a colossal waste of my life. I seek to be like JESUS: He went about doing good, His life was transparent and pleasing to the Father, He wore the gospel on His sleeve, come what may He kindly and consistently spoke the Gospel with His heart, tongue, and eyes; He revealed the Father through His daily life, He told out the priceless truth and heavenly message, and glad tidings wherever He went. First of all, I always need the Holy Spirit to pay me a Visit in everything I say and do through my day, or everything I do will be for naught. Pure heart, Good conscience, Faith unfeigned.
Not what I want to do, not what I please; but what Christ pleases, for I am not my own, I am bought with a precious price - The Pardoning Blood of Emmanuel. I have absolutely nothing to boast about but my Savior. *I Corinthians 4:7* Let it be the habit of my heart to live upon Jesus, keep to Him, cling to Him, never let Him go, seek to serve and please Him in the little things of my life, live and have my being with Him. I gladly serve Him who served me. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. *II Corinthians 10:5*
I must Study the words of God with care and attentiveness, with constancy and dependence upon the Spirit's illumination, asking for His understanding. I must sit alone and worship, draw near to Christ, steadily fix my heart's gaze upon His person. Let my Faith daily increase in simplicity, resting more fully upon the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the strengthening work of the Holy Spirit. He must Increase, and I must decrease, and grow downward for His sake. I must ask the Holy Spirit for fresh grace and wisdom. I must keep to the Cross, the central Sun of the gospel message, for the the Lamb is the Light that scatters darkness and gives Life and fruit, no one else can do it.
I choose to daily Yield to JESUS my members, faculties, abilities, talents, my life itself. Complete submergence of my Self into the glory of God is true happiness. Simplicity and Sincerity of character, warmth of heart, zealous temperament, generous and helpful spirit is what I need to have. I must prepare my heart for service: worship and adore Jesus Christ privately, feel His splendor through His words and through praise to Him, and let His goodness shine upon my Soul and warm my, and give the warmth of adoring love to Him.
Delight thyself in the LORD, not in yourself. Love JESUS, trust Him, come under His authority and command daily, pray to Him, talk to Him, be His Friend, talk about Him to others, let His will be my delight, take pleasure in pleasing Him, never forget Him, listen to Him closely, and follow His lead. Seek to glorify God and honor His Son as the main object and aim of my life. Make JESUS my heart's singular Focus. This is Sanctification: Eat, drink, work, play and sleep Jesus Christ, ascribing All glory to Him.
Entrust, hand over, give custody of my life to the Lord Jesus Christ daily. Long after God's way, desire to be conformed to the image of His dear Son inwardly. Concentrate all my spiritual, mental, and bodily powers upon Christ Jesus alone. Die to Self daily, and live wholly to Christ, only so He will be exalted. Find my soul's Focus in Him, make Him the sole object of my Love, His Cross the sole object of my glory, the Theme in which I Delight. I am living for no object or intent, but Christ Jesus Himself: He is the great aim of my ambition, the great object of my efforts, the grand focus of my eye of Faith.
I freely choose to Daily devote myself to JESUS, surrender my Heart to Him afresh cheerfully and readily, without a murmur or grudging thought. I will give up All for Jesus Christ, for He gave up All for my Soul, and I rejoice to do so. My one thought, one wish, one aim is to Concentrate my whole heart, to gather up and send all my energies into one channel, towards one great end, and that is to do the will of the Father and finish the work He has for me to do here in the earth for Jesus' sake.
