Who Can I Turn To?

You want to wipe your slate clean and start over.  You can't help but think there must be something else to this life. You have felt alone all your life.  Who can I turn to?  What is the message of mercy?   Well, here it is - Self-salvation is partly made up of human effort and Christ's effort.   But Bible Salvation is all through God's eternal Love and Mercy alone, not of human merit at all - not your goodness, but your badness; not your merit, but your misery; not your standing, but your falling; not your riches, but your need.  God will only forgive a sinner for Christ's sake, not for anything you have done or will do.  Your convictions will never win you the favor of God.

Simple faith in the finished work of the Lamb of God.  Fall down flat at the foot of the Cross as a poor sinner, trusting only to Christ's Finished Atonement.  Faith in His Blood brings unquestionable Safety to the guilty soul.  I am the worst of sinners, but Jesus bled and died for me.  There is nothing higher than just being nobody, and Christ being Everybody.  We are empty, weak, and nothing; we must be daily coming to Christ for all our needs.  Abound in good works but never trust in any of them to help save your soul.  Human merit is shifting sand.  There can be no mixing up the merits of Jesus with human merit.  Any deviation is fatal. Christ is all my Salvation and all my Desire.  Have no confidence or hope except in the Savior's Precious Blood.  You must quit your doings and believe only in Jesus' doings and dying.  Your efforts, doings, merits all of them at their very best are a failure.

Saved freely by grace through simple faith in Christ's Atoning Blood, that is all.  When you despise yourself, God honors you; but as long as you honor yourself and reject Christ, God despises you.  Have you repented of the love of sin?  Have you any evidence of the Spirit of God's working and fruit within you?  If you never weep over your sins, you will regret it forever.  If your heart is not broken over sin here in time, it must be crushed forever under the wheel of divine justice in Eternity.  You must repent of loving sin now, or else forever be punished for it.

Turn or burn - this is the Bible's only alternative.  A criminal believes in the law, but he still willfully disobeys the law.  If you are guilty and say you believe in the law in a courtroom, the judge is not going to let you go for just believing in the law.  Someone has to pay for your offenses.  Jesus paid for your crimes against God's Law.  Your greatest need is simple childlike faith in Him that bled and died upon the tree.  Faith in His blood - a hope that maketh not ashamed.  Say this in truth - I do believe in Jesus' blood with all my heart, in spirit and in truth.

Sin is like a bad husband that beats you up from time to time.  Repentance signs the divorce papers to Sin, that is, to love Sin no longer.  Do you love sin or love Christ?  You must either give up your sin, or give up Christ and your soul.  If you disregard the Gospel call, then do what you will, but you are doomed for sure.  Trust your immortal soul in Jesus' pierced bleeding hands.  O God, give me genuine faith and a real trust in Christ Himself.  Only trust Jesus now.  Your pride and procrastination is dangerous.  Sin is an evil dictator and vile tyrant which is ruling your soul right now.  Only Jesus can liberate you from Sin.   You must yield to this good King.  External morality can never help save your soul.  Godless, Christ-less, thankless, discontented, questioning, restless wretches wind up dying in their sins.  Don't be led astray by the fickle thoughts of man, and varying ideas of worldly wisdom.  Whatever God wants - Whatever pleases God, pleases me - As Thou wilt.

You would be better off trusting a lawyer with your checkbook, than a priest or Pope with your soul.  You're trusting your soul with something or someone right now  It would be better to hand your wallet to a bum on the street, than commit your soul to a religion.  Never lean upon a reed, or build upon sand, or sleep in a powder magazine with your candle burning next to a gunpowder bag, and never trust your soul with a religionist.  Everything you have is on the line.  Turn to Jesus!  Salvation is finished, all is of Christ Jesus, all is Free, so put your faith in Christ Jesus, Him alone.  Jesus, I will be nothing, Be Thou All.
