Genuine Faith 2

Hatred of your sins always accompanies the forgiveness of your sins. Turn your thoughts away from yourself and this world - set all your hopes on Jesus Christ. His wounds have paid my Ransom. The Cross is God's way of forgiving sin, punishing sin, mercy through a Sacrifice, pardon through faith in Jesus. Self-salvation is always connected with narrow thoughts of sin. Sin is such a great evil that men should be cast into Hell for it. Sin is a great and tremendous evil. Sin is slightly thought of today. Sin is very offensive to God. Sin could not be put way until God Incarnate bled and died and rose from the dead for sinful men. Only with the help of the Holy Ghost, can we see sin in its true colors, and loathe it as a deadly thing. We abhor the sin which required such an atoning Sacrifice from God Incarnate. Any religion that leads you to try to save yourself will wind up damning you. Come and lay hold on Everlasting Life by a simple faith in Jesus' Blood.

You can only escape from the wrath to come by faith in Jesus, or be driven forever from God's presence, and from all hope of joy. Faith is an act of reliance upon Christ's great Sacrifice. Faith is a heart-look at the Great Substitute. Contrite, resigned, acquiescent, content, grateful faith. Confess your sins, renounce your sins, supplicate pardon for your sins, believe in Jesus for the remission of your sins by the Atonement once offered for all sinners. Faith is essential. You must put our trust in the blood and righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Give up all other confidences, and cat your soul entirely upon Christ Himself. *Matthew 11:28* Faith leads us to look to Christ and to please Him. Believe fully on Christ now. Rest your soul's only hope upon His precious blood - immediate eternal life is yours the moment you do so. Let your faith be fixed alone on Jesus. Lord Jesus, have mercy on me. Thy faith in Jesus' atoning blood hath saved thee. *Luke 7:50; 18:42*

If you come to Christ with any of your righteousness in your hand, you will be turned away. Simple, true, real faith in Jesus Christ saves the ungodly. True faith walks hand in hand with repentance. Faith without repentance is dead. None but Jesus can do helpless sinners good. Genuine faith in Jesus works by love and purifies the soul. Forsake your own thoughts. Fix your eye on the person of Jesus. Genuine faith is wholly fixed upon Christ, His finished work on the Cross, His person, His cause. You can never trust Christ too much, or trust yourself too little. Faith is receiving Jesus, the empty glass being placed under the faucet. Faith is the penniless hand held out for heavenly alms. Faith is believing in Jesus' name. Whosoever believeth on Jesus is not condemned. *Acts 16:31* Have you ever received the Lord Jesus Christ, the real living Christ of God? Do you talk to Him? Do you know Him? Is He your companion and friend? Does it grieve you to sin against Him? Receive a personal Christ by confiding, trusting, depending upon His blood and righteousness, and you are eternally safe.

Simple faith is always the work of the Spirit. True faith is real reliance on Jesus. The reception of Jesus Christ by simple faith is a death to sin and brings with it a hatred for your personal sins, an abhorrence of your own sins against God. Faith is the all-important matter - the vital point. Faith is the accepting of Jesus Christ as your Substitute. My faith is resting in the substitutionary work of Jesus Christ - God manifest in the flesh. The Holy Ghost must first show you the evil of your sins, your own guilt, your imminent danger, your inability to help yourself, the impossibility of escaping your danger by any efforts or merits of your own. The light of the Holy Spirit shows us the Gospel - its freeness, the person of Christ and His work. Human nature has never produced a grain of saving faith, and it never will. Saving faith does not come from man at all, it comes from the Holy Ghost via the words of God. A receiving faith is the vital point. Simply believe in Jesus. Faith is an act of reliance upon Jesus' blood. Trust your soul in His hands at once. Believe in His ability to save.

Every man is a sinner. *I Timothy 1:15* I am a sinner indeed. I will trust Jesus' blood to save me from my sins. I rest on His Atonement which He has offered for me. Believe in Christ as the Victim for your sins. Fixedly gaze upon Him, draw near, believe and trust in Him. Salvation is not by your doing, but simply by believing on His Blood. An ink spot on a wedding gown draws so much attention. Every eye goes straight to the spot on the gown. The reason you don't think your sin is that bad is because it is everywhere, all over you. On Earth, sin is not that big a deal, because is it all around us. But in Heaven, no sin can enter. Draw near to God through Christ Jesus. You have spinach in your teeth. Oh, thank you. You have sin in your life. How dare you! If you meet God in your sins, it will not go well with you. The Precious Blood of Christ is the only cleansing agent for human sin. Yield yourself, and let Jesus do it. Light and love, instruction and illumination, wooing and warning, entreaty and rebuke of the Holy Spirit.

The growing Christian knows what he is not. Humble, steady consistency is vital - bringing forth fruit with patience. *Luke 8:15* The words of God can only be brought home to our heart and be made fruitful by the Holy Ghost. Sin to me is misery, but Christ is my exceeding joy. Love Christ dearly, and you shall loathe your sins. Look forward to Jesus, not backward to yourself. Christ is All, None but Christ, Christ for me. Be a trembling truster, not a thoughtless trifler. The *good ground* is a well-prepared heart. *Ezra 7:10* The ground is only made good by God's fear and grace. *Jeremiah 32:40* *Nehemiah 5:15* Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. *Hebrews 13:9* Mercy is what the needy sinner requires.

Summing it all up, you will go out of this world with one of two things - your sins or Jesus Christ. When you exit your body and stand before your Creator, you will have your sins on your soul, or Christ Jesus in your soul. This is what you have to do sinner friend, in order to be saved from your sins, simply believe in Jesus Christ. If you trust Jesus Christ's Blood alone, you are saved immediately. No preparation is needed, come just as you are, Jesus has never turned away a guilty sinner. Trust Jesus to save you through and through, out and out. Renounce all trust in your works and doings. This is not salvation in sin, but salvation from sin. Salvation is not a license to evil, but a deliverance from evil. Rest in Jesus, trust to Him.

The Deadly Dilemma

The visible creation and the inner consciousness of man sufficiently declare that there is a Creator God, and that He is just, and that God was in Christ. How can I get out of this deadly dilemma called Sin? Man will believe in a god who is giving, but they cannot believe a God who takes away. Sin is lifting up your heel against your kindly heavenly Helper - this is base ingratitude, high treason, causeless hate, spite against holiness, a pretense that is filthy and unclean. Why do you treat so gracious a God in such a disgraceful manner? Your sins have offended God's majesty and grieved His holiness. Only the Blood of God's Son can redeem you from the avenging justice of God.

The lost man is only waiting to die and face Judgment, fiery indignation, and the Lake of Fire; the saved and forgiven man is waiting to see Jesus and enter into Glory. Jesus Christ bore our sins in His own body on the tree, and by the merit of His bloody death, He has forever rendered compensation to the injured honor of God's divine justice. Christ Jesus died and paid to the Law all that divine justice could ever demand. Think of that truth! Through the Blood of Jesus, I am redeemed from sin, death, hell, and all the claims of unbending justice. If you are a Christ rejector, you are this day in extreme danger. On account of your ill treatment of God, and your remaining an enemy to Him, God will surely visit you in justice and punish you for your transgressions.

God is a just God, and every sin you've committed is noted in His book. You will receive the just reward of your sins if you die in your natural state with being born again. Immediate pardon is available now for all your sins if you will simply believe in Jesus. The Lord Jesus took upon Himself my sins and suffered the penalty due to my sins. Don't refuse this great Salvation so dearly purchased and so freely offered to you today. My sins were laid upon Jesus Christ, He bore them for me, and the penalty due to me on account of my sins, has been endured by Jesus Christ my Substitute, and now the divine justice of God has no anger toward me. The High Priest offered a perfect Sacrifice to make full Atonement and vindicate eternal justice. Willful wrong, wanton sin, foul rebellion, and ingratitude must be punished. I was lost and utterly undone before the eternal bar of divine justice, but full recompense has been made to divine justice for me by the Lamb of God. Have simple faith in the Atonement.

Jesus Christ offered such a great Atonement, that God can be Just, and yet the Justifier of him that believeth. God can now have mercy upon the vilest, and justify the ungodly, and accept the worst of sinners through His dear Son. The Atonement made by the personal sacrifice of Jesus is infinitely precious. Flee to the Atonement, cling and cleave to the Cross of Christ by faith - this is your safety. Jesus' bloody death was penal, inflicted upon Him by divine justice for my sake. God laid on Jesus our sins and the suffering due to them. Pure holiness and unswerving justice must be answered. Jesus' suffering made full recompense to the justice of God for me. The avenging justice of God spent itself on the Lamb of God. Make Jesus' atoning blood your trust and confidence. Justice is only satisfied through the atoning blood. Mercy and justice, love and holiness, grace and truth, tenderness and power was displayed at the Cross. My sins were laid upon Jesus and the divine vengeance which was due on account of my sins.

The breach of God's law was caused by man, and by man it must be repaired, so God became a man. Man has transgressed, and man must be punished. So the matchless man stepped in and suffered what was due to me. Jesus made full amends to God's injured justice, and His sufferings set me free. Glory be unto His blessed holy name! Jesus satisfied the Father's infinite vengeance. Terrors of justice, threats of vengeance and drawing cords of love are found in the Gospel. You must cower down beneath the blood-red Propitiation.

Idolaters are devoted followers of a deity of their own making. They fashion their god out of their own thoughts, delusions and misconceptions. They believe in a god such as they 'think' God ought to be according to them. The god that men invent for themselves nowadays is a strange being entirely devoid of justice. They say the God of the Bible is too vindictive, because He severely punishes rebellion against His law, because He will not suffer His law to be trampled upon with impunity, and will by no means spare the guilty. The God of the Bible executes vengeance, and terrible rewards to the proud doers. The true and living God of the Holy Bible cannot be endured by modern religiosity. Men want a deity far less stringent, a god like unto themselves who cares nothing about the evil of sin, and that will allow some sinners to go unpunished. A god who does their bidding, that doesn't send people to Hell, a god that gives them liberty to think and do as they like, and treat His words as a piece of clothe they can trim according to their own liking. The god of modern thought is not the God of the Bible.

The true God is the God who is revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and He has manifested Himself in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Men try to save themselves, and pull down God off His throne down to their standard. Every man is a self-saver, he lowers God in some manner. He imagines that God will accept something short of perfection. Each man has a different standard, but God has one Standard - the Lord Jesus Christ. The man who is saved by the grace of God says, "My God is infinitely just and nothing will content Him but a perfect Righteousness from the Lord Jesus Christ." As the moral Lawgiver, God will not put away sin till He has laid punishment upon the Innocent One, JESUS, who stood in the sinner's place. God is so loving that He gave His Son; He is so Just that He slew His Son on my behalf.

The Spirit of the Law

When most people read the Ten Commandments, they do not understand spirit of the commands. The spirituality of the divine Law deals with our inward thoughts, desires, intents, attitudes, longings, and our outward actions. Only the Holy Ghost can bring the Law home to a man's heart, and truly show him he is a sinner.

The first commandment which God gave us in Exodus 20 is, “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.” In other words, “Thou shalt have no other god but Me,” for God is everywhere. This command is always broken in our thoughts. If you say to yourself, “This is God’s law, but my own way will be most to my profit,” then you make yourself, or your money, to be your god. If you say within yourself, “I clearly perceive that I ought not to indulge in that sin, but it gives me great pleasure,” When you indulge in that sin, then you make your own pleasure, that is, yourself, to be your god. You worship yourself, instead of God. This sin the lies in your thoughts, judgment, and affections. You don't have to make an image of gold, or of wood, and bow down before it; you can become a complete idolater in the temple of your heart by offering service to your own self-will. Most men worship themselves more than anything else.

The second commandment contains a another prohibition, “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.” That is, “Thou shalt not worship God under any symbol; thou shalt not worship God through any symbol,” or, in spirit, “Thou shalt not worship God in any way which He has not commanded;” “Thou shalt not invent your own methods and modes of worship, but thou shalt do as God commands you.” Now, human nature very easily fabricates an imagine in its thoughts. This is what we most of us do. We say and think that God is altogether such an one as ourself; and, having formed to ourselves an idea of God, we bow down before it.

You may be an idolater as much by worshipping a god whom your mind has made up as by worshipping a block of stone or wood. The Invisible God, who has proclaimed Himself in Holy Scripture according to the marvelous attributes of His being, and has further revealed Himself, so gloriously in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ -- JESUS is the God you must worship. We must not make our own god by our own imagination; we must take the God whom the Scripture reveals. We are not to fashion in our thoughts a god such as we should like Him to be. Human nature wants a god who is pure love, but who has no divine justice; but we must take the God of Scripture, - He is grandly stern in His justice, severely dreadful in His wrath, while He is infinite in His compassion, ever gracious, and full of Mercy. We must acknowledge the God of the Bible, and never make a deity to ourselves, or else in our thoughts we have broken the divine law. The fruit of those thoughts will us idolators.

The third commandment can be broken without saying a word: “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” Light thoughts of God, irreverence of your soul towards Him is a violation of this command. You only have to think lightly of His name, and you have blasphemed it. Before your mouth even utters a profanity, the rebellious thought is sacrilege towards God Almighty.

As for the Law of the Sabbath in the fourth commandment, that is always violated by us all. Do not suppose that you are a keeper of the Sabbath, because you do no work with your hands; you are just as guilty if you work with your brain. You are to rest from all your own works. Do as much as you please for God, but your mind should lay aside its care. Bring the cares of this world with you and cast them all on Christ. *I Peter 5:7* Bring your burdens to Christ and then worship Him! Ask God’s grace to help rise above self and this world. Give your heart and mind entirely to the worship of Christ Jesus who is our Sabbath. *Matthew 11:28* This command may easily broken without any visible act, and the slightest breach destroys your peace and rest. You have no true rest while your mind is toiling, and tugging, and straining about a thousand troubles and difficulties; but if you keep the command in your spirit, Christ Himself will be your Rest.

The fifth commandment is “Honor thy father and thy mother.” When we were children, unkind and unhallowed thoughts toward our parents have been many, sufficient to convict us of offenses against the divine law. Without a disobedient action, without a rebellious word, a child may in thought be a rebel toward his parents.

"Thou shalt not kill;” but John tells us the man who hates his brother is actually a murderer in his heart. The inward thought can slay and kill, and truly, it is the angry thought that lays the foundation of the deadly outward act of murder. There would be no murdering if there were no enmity, malice and hatred. Men in anger will say, "I wish you were dead."

“Thou shalt not commit adultery.” Jesus said, “Whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” The very thought of adultery is a defiling sin and our soul's ruin, even though we may still be kept back by fear, from the commission of the evil outward deed. Men gloat over evil, and seek the forbidden. The thought of the sin is not as bad as the sinful act itself; but still it is a sin, and a sin that must be answered for in that great Judgment day, when the Judge of all the earth shall judge every man according to his works.

“Thou shalt not steal.” Every envious thought of another man, every desire to get what is not mine; everything of this sort, in which I would grasp that which does not, belong to me is a theft in God's sight. The thief does not so much steal when he puts out his hand to take his neighbor’s purse, as in the thought which led him to do it. Stealing time from your employer and then still taking a full paycheck is fraud. Stealing your life from God and living for yourself is a heinous sin.

“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.” Thinking hard thoughts of your neighbor without a cause; or conceiving an unjust prejudice against him. To look coldly upon him when he really does not deserve it; to make up my mind out of some whim that he is a bad fellow, and say words to injure my neighbor's reputation, that is a false witness and iniquity.
Do not ruin a man's character in the estimation of others. Avoid any false witnessing in your thoughts, and you will not, say it in your words.

The tenth commandment is especially a thought-command: “Thou shalt not covet.” All greedy desires which make us wish to get our neighbor’s goods to the injury of others are sins, and the fruits of such thoughts are guilt, punishment, the judgment to come, and the lake of fire.

Human nature is self-righteous, and men suppose they are not as sinful as God says they are. Man's conceits lead him to believe he can work himself out of his difficulties and force his way into heaven in his own way. Self-righteousness is obnoxious and keeps you from coming to Christ, and will certainly exclude you from eternal life and slam the door of Hell behind you.

Arrogant men love to tell you what they have, what they can do, what they have done in their past, and what they plan to do. A proud man is nothing but a sinful windbag. The troubles of life or the crisis of death shall put a pin into the windbag. The haughty man will discover himself to be nothing but emptiness when his health begins to fail. The carnal mind tends to lead to murmuring, unbelief, procrastination, and bitterness.

Cultivate humble thoughts, think little of yourself. Have low thoughts of yourself before God, penitent thoughts concerning your sins, thinking much of God's Son and His divine grace. Have forgiving thoughts toward your enemies. Have admiring and adoring thoughts of Christ Jesus, of His goodness and greatness. Worship the Lord Jesus Christ, think much of Him. Let every blessing make you think of Him. Have thankful thoughts and cheerful gratitude - see the mercy of God in everything. Have believing and submissive thoughts to God. Put your soul into Christ's hands every day. Have longing thoughts after Jesus - for His presence throughout the day, and to be with Him where He is. Let Christ have your very best thoughts.

The Good Old Gospel

The Good Old Gospel is always new, because sinners need Christ Jesus’ love and blood every day. You have to live somewhere forever. Your soul must live on and on, like it or not. You have to live as long as God Almighty lives; you have to live until God your Creator dies. You better learn how to live. You can end your physical life, but not your soul. They will bury your body one day, but your soul won’t be there. You have to live on forever somewhere out in Eternity. There is a God, and you’re not Him. Prepare to meet God through childlike faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. A wise man always prepares for the inevitable. Only Jesus Christ can freely grant you Eternal Life and teach you how to really live. *John 10:10* Life comes from God, and God tells men how to live in the Holy Bible. Put first things first. *Matthew 6:33*

Your relationship to God must be first. If you’re not properly related to God, you’ll never be properly related to anyone or anything on this earth. Let God get a grip on you, so you can get a grip on God. The best way to live your life is to be a born-again Christian. If you depend upon human wisdom and intellect, you have no hope; you must have divine wisdom imparted to you by the Holy Spirit via the Holy Scriptures. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Your sinful past with all its stain and guilt and despair, Jesus took upon Himself on Calvary’s Cross, and suffered in your place, so you could escape the Judgment to come. He took the stripes, thorns, spit, and nails because of your sins. You can only find free forgiveness for your sins at the pierced feet of Jesus. Put your trust entirely upon Jesus' Blood right now.

The Holy Bible is so. Your Sin will damn you for sure. It’s always wrong to do wrong. Every sin you've ever committed throughout your entire life has been against God. Atheism deifies man, humanizes God, and minimizes sin. Holiness, godliness, and purity are the greatest terror to the mind of an ungodly atheist. Your love for sin will cost you your soul. An unsaved man is hopelessly lost in his sin, and he doesn’t even know it, that’s one of the saddest things in the world. By nature, every sinner by nature is on his way to hell, and dead in his trespasses and sins. You have disobeyed God; you think you know better than God. You think you can get away with your sins, but you can’t. You've believed the devil's lies found in atheism or religions. The devil always makes a man think he can get away with his sin. You must face the awful and solemn fact that you’re lost and Hell-bound, and have no ability or merit to save yourself. All that keeps you out of Hell right now is your heartbeat, and God Himself in mercy keeps your heart beating every moment.

The first thing you need to realize is that you're lost and under the wrath of God. *John 3:36* Every man without Christ is a poor, miserable lost sinner. You’re in a bad fix right now. You should be afraid of being a lost sinner. Men are afraid of the atomic bomb and cancer, but they’re not afraid of their Sins damning them. Men fear everything but their sins. God knows all that you do, think, and say every day. He knows everything that you've ever done. There’s no such thing as a little sin in God’s courtroom. It’s an awful thing to be Christ-rejecting sinner. It’s a terrible thing to sin against God. You’ve done something in your past life that you'd like to forget, but your memory and conscience just won’t let you. The guilt of your past sins haunt you every day. You need to trust Jesus Christ's atoning blood for the forgiveness of sins. Come clean with God, get things fixed up now with God at the Cross under Jesus’ blood, and God will freely forgive and forget all your sins immediately and forever.

Every man in the whole world has sinned against the infinitely holy God that created them. God cannot tolerate human sin. The purer you are, the more you will hate your sins. True Purity makes you intolerant toward sin. God will never wink at your sin. All sin must be punished. God is infinitely just and holy. When God wanted to save sinners; God Himself could only find one way to do it. Man’s sin debt had to be paid for by Someone's blood who was sinless. So God sent His Son to die for sinners at the Cross. You are so evil that God had to become a human being and die in you place. God Himself became a Jewish man in the person of Jesus of Nazareth and died for His enemies, so that God’s infinite holiness and justice could be satisfied through the shed blood, sufferings, and death of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. In the Holy Bible, this is called the *Atonement*. *Romans 5:11* A sinner can only approached and meet a holy God by faith at the Cross of Christ. Every sinner has to be saved by Precious Blood. The man that doesn’t believe in hell, and says there is no hell, and I'm too good to go to Hell, is the man that deserves Hell the most. Jesus is the only person who literally loved you to death.

Your sins are as black as a slice out of midnight, and your sin is as bad as Hell itself. There’s something bad wrong with you inside: it’s called Sin. Sin is the most evil and hateful thing on earth. You have committed all your sins in God’s sight; you sinned every time as God's eyes looked right at you. The eyes of your mother or your wife may not have seen you, but God saw you. Thou God seest me. Everything you’ve ever done, every thought that ever crawled across your mind, and every passion that ever moved your heart, God Almighty saw it all. God is holy, and He hates sin. The skeletons of your sins are rattling in the closets of your past. God sees you right now, He’s looking down on you. You might trick your mom, or wife, or your friends, but not God. You can’t mock a holy omnipresent God: God knows all about you, He knows when you’ve sinned, why you’ve sinned, where you’ve sinned, and how you’ve sinned. You may trick everyone else, but not your Omniscient Creator.

No man can have success in this world until he first wakes up to the fact that he is a complete failure. No man can go to heaven until he realizes he’s going to hell. No man can turn around without stopping. You don’t have to go a psychiatrist or college to figure out what’s wrong with you, just read Genesis 3, John 3, and Romans 3. You won’t ever evolve into anything that’s better. Face the fact that you’ve sinned against God, and that you are guilty and condemned in God’s sight. Any man in this world that lives like he wants to live will live a bad life. If you live your own life your own way, you’ll go straight to Hell when you die. There’s not one thing in the Holy Bible that tells you to try and save yourself.

Believe the Bible, whatever it says is so. Take Jesus at His word, trust His sinless character. If you come to Jesus, He'll take you. If you don't have Jesus, you don't have any hope. The way of the transgressors is hard. I only know I'm saved, because God's word tells me so. If you are neglecting Jesus Christ, you're all wrong. Without the shedding of the blood, there is no remission of sins. The only way to get back to God is through faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus was God manifest in the flesh. He was wounded for our transgressions. *II Corinthians 5:21* If you ever go to Heaven, you'll have to go by way of the Cross, the Atonement, Precious Blood, Substitution.

Why don't you trust Jesus Christ? You know you've sinned. All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Have you ever done anything wrong? If you have, you've sinned against a holy God. Jesus Christ paid your sin debt on the Cross. If you're trusting what you can do in any way, you're lost. You need a new nature from the Holy Ghost. *Acts 16:31* You better be sure about your salvation. You better play it safe with your immortal soul, put your case in Jesus' hands, come to Him by simple faith, trusting your guilty soul with Him. *Acts 4:12* You can't save yourself, you can't earn your salvation.

You cannot deceive God. You cannot hide from God. God can see through every wall, you can't get away from Him. God's eyes run to and fro throughout all the earth, and behold the evil and the good. God sees you, that's a solemn thought. God has seen everything that you've ever done. Every word you've ever uttered, every thought that ever crawled across your mind, God saw it all. You cannot deceive an all wise God. Man may live in sin without getting caught, but God sees you.

Real Christians experience Satanic opposition. The devil deceives you into thinking that you can sow sin and not reap it. Man left to himself will always end up corrupt. There is in man a tendency to evil. You have evil in your heart, and you know it. You don't have to do anything to be bad, but you have to fight to be good. All you have to do to go to Hell is nothing, just let go, and you'll wind up in Hell. Within you, dwells no good thing. Don't fool yourself, you are sinful and in need of a Savior. The devil tries to make a man believe that he can fix himself up in his own strength. Music, art, literature, science, and technology are empty things without God.

You can't make yourself all right. Only Christ Himself can make you right with God. Trust Christ, not yourself. Keep true to God, keep sowing to the Spirit, keep planting the seed of the word of God. You can count on God, trust what He says, not what you feel. Listen to God, line up with God, go through life and death with God. The world says, "Have a good time, go with the crowd, you only live one time, let go, enjoy life, everyone else is doing it." If you sow the wind, you'll reap the whirlwind. If you sow sin, you'll reap bitter tears, sorrows, heartaches, troubled conscience and tormenting memories.

The ‘Flesh’ in the Holy Bible sense is what you are unregenerated; the Flesh is raw human nature; the Flesh is what you are naturally without God; The Flesh always leads you away from God and into darkness. You’re a sinner, and that’s all. Human sin is destructive, deceiving, and damning. You can’t trust yourself at all. You’re just not right; you have evil propensities and vile tendencies that draw you away from God. The old Adamic nature’s pull and tendency is always downward. You can’t help save yourself from your sins. Human nature always tries to find excuses and alibis for its favorite sins. Never excuse yourself from sinning against God.

You need forgiveness, mercy, help, cleansing, freedom, and purity through the shed blood of the Son of God. God’s standard is a standard of a sinless life, and Christ lived a sinless life especially for you. God never lets anyone get away with their sins. No man ever wins doing wrong, and no man ever loses by doing Right. The Holy Bible will never condone your sin, that’s why you don’t read it. God knows all about you. You do what you do, because you are what you are. You need God’s divine grace to quit your sinning. Only Jesus can comb the rats out of the hair of your character. You will remain to be wretched and miserable about your sinful past until Jesus saves your soul through His Precious Blood. Don’t try to dodge and duck the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Religion will run you crazy, but Jesus Christ will give you a sound mind.

Religion is the thing in which human nature endeavors to rely upon for salvation from human sin and guilt. Religion is the stuff that you do to make you feel better about yourself without trusting Jesus Christ. You need a right relationship to Jesus Christ; trust your sin-laden soul to Him now. Sin will drive you to insanity, if you don’t watch it. Every one of sins are directly against God; that is the most terrible thing about human sin. Man is naturally wrong. Human nature is filled with sordid ambitions, sinful impulses, an arrogant strut, and self-righteous delusion.

You were born in sin, you've lived in sin, and if you're not careful, you're going to die in your sins. The New Birth from the Holy Ghost is absolutely necessary in order for you to escape from your sinful nature. Come out of your sinful darkness into the marvelous Light of Jesus Christ. If you haven’t been born again, you’re a hopelessly lost sinner, because you were born in sin. There is nothing good in you at all. Only a new creature will do. It’s terrible thing to be a lost sinner. You’ve let sin have right of way and reign in your life, sin has degraded you, and sin will soon damn you forever if you keep messing around with it. There’s something wrong with you naturally. You need the life and righteousness of Jesus Christ imparted to your dead soul by the New Birth through the Blood and Spirit of Christ. Ask for Faith, Seek for Mercy, Knock for Wisdom. *Matthew 7:7*

The Good Old Gospel says that you are helpless to save yourself, or bring yourself back to God. Christ Jesus came to reconcile you back to God through His Atoning Blood. Christ took those sins of yours, which are enough to sink you down into Hell, and He bore them all in His own body on the Cross, He took the punishment and wrath due to your sins, that He might bring you to Heaven by His grace. If you will but simply trust HIM, even now, He will deliver you from the curse of the Law; for it is written, “He that believeth on Christ is not condemned.” Christ Jesus will give you Eternal Life freely, for it is written, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life.”

Freely 1

There aren't many things in the world that are absolutely free without some kind of catch. Well today with Jesus Christ, there is no catch. Call upon Jesus now, and get eternal salvation absolutely free, no gimmicks, no works from you are necessary. All Jesus asks is that you bring Him all your sins to be forgiven freely by His grace, no catches, it's absolutely free. All Salvation will cost you is your sins.

Perfect cleansing, perfect pardon, perfect imputation is what every sinner needs. You can be fully, freely, and wholly accepted by God through Christ. Justified freely by His grace, freely because there is no price to be paid for it. God only gives His justification away freely. When Salvation is free, sin-loving men turn away. *John 3:19* What! am I have salvation for nothing at all, without doing anything myself? Yes, you are to have pardon for nothing, or else not at all. Christ doesn't want any merit of yours. *Romans 8:32* Christ gives His things away freely. *Romans 5:16-18* The worse you are, the more welcome you are at the Cross. God that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, shall with Christ freely give us all things, and now whosoever believeth on Jesus shall not perish, but have everlasting life. If you will take Christ Jesus for nothing, He freely offers Himself to you. You cannot buy Christ with your efforts. Lord Jesus, take away all my iniquity, receive me graciously, love me freely.

Voluntarily surrender yourself to Jesus. *I Corinthians 2:12* You must come to God as undeserving of anything at His hands. Take His love and mercy freely. Simply trust to Christ, repose on Him. Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. *Revelation 22:17* God help you to come to Jesus. Whosoever believeth on the Lord Jesus Christ hath everlasting life freely given him. "I will love them freely" is the essence of the Gospel message. The Gospel door hinges upon one word - "freely". No works of man can procure the grace of God. The mercy of God flows freely only to the guilty. He that believeth on Jesus is not condemned. Trust Christ implicitly. The key-note of the Gospel is "freely". Christ is free to every needy sinner. Justified freely by His grace. *Romans 3:24* I am a pardoned sinner, there is not a sin against me in God's book because of Jesus' blood. I am a justified soul, the Righteousness of Christ covers me, even the eye of God cannot see a spot in me.

This man Christ Jesus receiveth sinners. My sins are freely forgiven for Jesus' sake. Free forgiveness through Precious Blood. I am a guilty wretch who deserves to be sent to the lowest hell for what I have done. Come and freely take what God provides in Christ Jesus. Free forgiveness leads to gratitude, and gratitude leads to holiness. *Revelation 21:6* Eternal salvation by grace is freely offered to all sinners. Jesus will freely give to you what you cannot earn. We must come to Jesus, and put out the empty hand of faith, and forgiveness is given to us at once most freely. The Savior presents Himself to you - take Him freely. Faith cometh by hearing of the free forgiveness purchased by the agonies and bloody death of Jesus. The Lord shuts us up to hopelessness and helplessness in order that He may save us freely by His grace.

All my hope lies in Jesus Christ alone, all other hopes are delusions. Christ is given to you for nothing, freely given to you of God, and whosoever will may have Christ, and if you have Him not, it is only because you have rejected Him. Christ is to be had by simply trusting Him. Eternal life is freely bestowed on the believer. Freely come and take. The vital Precious Blood was poured out freely for our eternal redemption. God freely forgives guilty offenders for Christ's sake. Put implicit confidence in Jesus. God be thanked for the simplicity and freeness of the Gospel. Place your faith implicitly on Christ Jesus. You cannot work salvation into yourself. The Gospel motto is "without money and without price."

There is nothing in you that could ever deserve eternal life. Self-righteous human nature thinks it can procure salvation if it can reach a certain level of merit. Your hunger is your fitness for food, your nakedness is your fitness for clothing, your thirst is your fitness for drink, your poverty is your fitness for charity, your guiltiness and sinfulness are your fitness for free forgiveness and the riches of God's mercy. God will have none of your bargaining. At the Cross, there are no conditions or demands for preparations or prerequisites. Salvation is dearly purchased and freely presented, accept Christ here and now. *John 1:12* By nature, you are in peril of eternal punishment, and exposed to divine wrath. Beggars must not be choosers. You are a beggar needing alms from God. Human nature always wants to do, feel, or be something. You must be freely and fully saved by Grace. Jesus only takes the utterly unworthy.

Come and welcome to the Cross. You may have Christ's Salvation all for nothing; Eternal Life is all for the asking. Open your hand and receive what Christ freely bestows - this is all God asks of you. Simplicity, Gospel truth, and the power of the Holy Ghost. To believe to is trust, and whosoever trusts to Immanuel's atoning blood is saved on the spot. Don't object to being saved simply by faith in Precious Blood. Jesus is mighty to save - He deserves your implicit trust and childlike confidence. Want of merit never excluded any sinner at the Cross. Jesus bids us come, unworthy as we are, He invites us freely, repeatedly and earnestly He begs us to come. Ask God for faith to receive what Christ freely provides. Don't just plan for the future, plan for Eternity. Take Christ's salvation freely. Jesus suffered for my sins and now God who is infinitely just can freely dispense His grace to me.

Genuine Faith 1

Christ Jesus is able to save any sinner unto the uttermost that comes to Him by simple faith in His Precious Blood. Whosoever will, let him come and take the water of life freely. God will love you freely and forgive you graciously for Jesus' name sake. Exalt Christ, put down yourself. Give no heed to religiousness and vain traditions. Put the crown upon the head of Jesus, and exalt the Almighty Savior of sinners. Highly exalt the Creator, put down your sins. Nothing but the Holy Ghost and the Grace of God can keep your evil passions in check. Self-righteousness is a rotten product of human pride.

The Lord Jesus Christ is my strength and song, and He is become my Salvation; He is my God, and I will prepare Him an habitation, and I will exalt Him. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Salvation is by free grace through Atoning Blood. Love Jesus, delight in Him, extol His name. Glorify the Crucified Creator who is everlasting. Extol JEHOVAH JESUS only. *Acts 19:17* O how I love to hear Jesus praised! Reject and discard all human merit utterly. As a man's faith is, so is he. Put your faith in Jesus Christ, and have an ardent love towards Him. Believe the truth of the Gospel thoroughly. Fix your faith in Christ's Blood alone. Let Christ and His truth be woven into your being and nature, let Him become part of you. The Gospel saves me, comforts me, sustains me in my trials and temptations, helps me to conquer my sins, keeps down my evil passions and vile tendencies, and brings me near to my God. Only God's mercy in Christ saves a sinner.

God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son to die, that sinners might live through Him. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Trust Jesus Christ with your soul, and you are reconciled to God, your sins are blotted out forever for Christ's sake. Whosoever believeth on Jesus, the Son of God, hath everlasting life. Confess your guilt, trust in the sinner's Savior, and you are saved. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The chief part of wisdom is to live to please the Lord; to depart from evil, this is the essence of wisdom. These three things make up the Gospel - the Bible, the Blood of Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the only Regenerator; He is the only converting and saving power that works in us to bring us to Christ.

Jesus will not make up the deficiency after you have done your best. Oh no, when a sinner comes to God, he must bring nothing but the Blood of Christ. Guilty sinners can only be pardoned by trusting to the Blood once shed by Christ. You can't come to God based on your good behavior, it must be only by what Jesus did. Self-righteousness is an egregious falsehood and damnable error. Come to Jesus in all your sin, come just as you are, in all your filthiness, weakness, poverty, insignificance, appealing only to the pity and mercy of God in Christ. There is no road to God's acceptance, but through Jesus, Jesus only. There is but a step between you and eternal death.

Lord Jesus, I have no merit, nothing to plead, nothing to offer but my guilt, be merciful to me, save my helpless soul, for I have sinned against you. Lord Jesus, be gracious unto me, pardon me freely, here is one sinner who needs Your grace and free pardon. You heal the sick, here is one sick sinner in need of your Remedy. Lord Jesus, I trust to You, I lay my sins on You, I lay my sin-sickness at Your dear feet.

If you cannot pay a penny, you will be frankly forgiven all your sins, but as long as try to do your best to pay what you owe to divine justice, there is no hope for you. Jesus will not make up the rest. Christ will not do the little you cannot do. Christ will be everything, or else He will be nothing, you must be saved wholly by Mercy, or else not at all. You cannot mingle your works with Christ's Finished Work. You have nothing to pay the terrible debt of sin, don't trust in your own righteousness. In order to saved by your own righteousness, you must be absolutely perfect in word, thought, and deed from birth to death. Your half-obedience can never be accepted by God. Never trust to your imaginary human goodness. If you are to be saved, Christ must do it all. Christ will never allow you to do what you can, and leave Him to make up the rest. What can you do that is not sinful? Christ planned it all, He did it all, He finished it all. The work of Redemption is all finished. Human sin can only be cancelled at Calvary.

Human nature says, "I can do anything I set my mind to, I can change my life." Be good as you ever can, and if there be a little bit you are lacking, trust Jesus to make up the rest. This is a gross and fatal delusion. If you are a good person and have a little sin, and have done no great wrong, and are as nearly as good as you ought to be, and only need Jesus a little, then Christ came not to save people like you. Nothing is more pleasing to human nature than the attempt to do something by which it may merit salvation at the hand of God.

Trust now at the foot of the Cross in Christ's full and perfect Atonement, and you are saved. Exalt Christ Crucified. Ask Jesus to save you from the love of sin. Trust to His Blood, Righteousness, and Atonement. Faith is coming to Christ in childlike trust. Fix your hope on Jesus; Set your heart on Him. Think of Jesus with fixed thought. Jesus is God, He is man; He is the crucified and risen Substitute for sinners. Jesus is willing to receive to receive all who trust to His blood and merits. He will save you, He will save you now, every sinner who will simply rely only upon Him.

Bring Jesus before your mind's eye, consider and admire Him. He who made heaven and earth came into this world as a helpless Jewish infant. The Word was made flesh. Read about and follow His life from Bethlehem till He goes to die on the Cross. Look to Jesus the Incarnate God suffering for sinners. Fix your heart's eye on Gospel promises. God be merciful to me a sinner, for Jesus' sake. Lord Jesus, renew me, cleanse me, purge me, I hate my sins, deliver from me from my sins' power, hold me up. In the unseen Savior I have joy unspeakable, I fix my trust and love on Him, from the unseen Savior I draw my Joy. On the Incarnate God I fix all my hope; I look only to His sinless, substitutionary Sacrifice. All my confidence is anchored on the complete Atonement of Christ. I am eternally reconciled to God by Precious Blood.

My spirit is fixed on Jesus as the center of my soul. Fix your thoughts on Jesus' Blood, make Him the only object of your trust. Fix your soul on Jesus, despise your doings, they cannot help you at all, look simply and wholly to Christ. All my trust on Christ is stayed. Come with nothing of your own to Christ Jesus. Christ has perfectly kept Law for you, His Righteousness must be your righteousness. Your fig-leaf righteousness will not cover your soul from God's divine justice in the day of wrath. Christ has suffered in your place. If you're weary and heavy laden, if you sense you have broken the Law and rejected Christ, and feel your guilt, leave your own trusts, and come to Jesus now. Down with your pride, away with your self-righteousness. Christ is the Mediator, put your faith in the Atonement of the Cross. *Romans 5:11*

Meekly cast your soul on the mercy of God in Christ. Let your imagination and affection be stayed and rested on Christ. When you think right, you'll believe right, and then you'll act right, and then you'll feel right. Genuine faith in the Lord Jesus Christ promotes godliness and purity in a man's heart and life. Let your hope, trust, and confidence be fixed upon Jesus the Christ of God. Let your heart be stayed on God, in the truth, on pure living. Make Christ's Atonement your trust, refuge, your All. A life vest on a sinking ship will not save anyone unless an individual takes the life preserver and straps it to his body, that will save the drowning man, or else he will sink and perish. If you know yourself to be a real, bona fide sinner, and you are convinced by the Holy Ghost of your guilt and lostness, come now and trust to Christ's Atoning Blood. The Atonement is the unaided finished work of Jesus Himself, He has done it wholly, and He needs nothing from you to supplement His Atoning Blood. Believe now that the man who died on Calvary was God, that He took your sins upon Himself, and that He suffered to pay the debt to divine justice for your sins. Your sins must be punished or pardoned. Which will it be for you?
