Men and women do everything in their power to try and hide their depravity and sinfulness. We maximize others' faults and minimize our own offenses. We indulge in our own sins, and are intolerant toward others' sins. Lost man is dangerously content with his superficial religiousness or his intellectual stupidity. Man tries to self-sacrifice in different ways in an attempt to atone for his own sins. Mankind is incurably addicted to try and do something for their own salvation. We always give constant attention to how we look outwardly to man, but not inwardly to God. By nature, we are altogether lost, ruined, depraved, and undone through our own sins against our Creator. Human nature tries to take off its black cloak of lasciviousness and put on the gray garb of human morality and religiousness and put on a disguise in a vain attempt to disguise itself; but God is not mocked by this self-righteous disguise. Is your Master the love of sin, or the love of Christ?
But God is Holy and Perfect; His Holiness and Perfection is also called the Glory of God. For all of us have sinned and come way short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23). God operates on a different standard than man; He is Perfect. Jesus Christ was and is Perfect. The straight edge of the Law shows us how crooked we really are inside. We are sinners by birth, by nature, and by choice. If you are Lost today (hopeless, helpless, at your wit's end), this means you are spiritually wandering and lingering in the darkness of your sinful nature.
Your Soul is in dire need of saving. But first, you must be convinced of your spiritual need inwardly by the great Convincer and Reprover of Sin, The Holy Spirit Himself. The thoroughly convinced cancer patient flees to the oncologist at the medical center, and the thoroughly convinced sinner flees immediately to Christ Jesus at the Cross for healing and safekeeping. When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the Voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself. Only the Holy Spirit's moving and working can make you actually feel your Sin within. The Holy Spirit wakes you up inside and you realize you've been sleeping in a pit of highly venomous snakes, that is, your Sssssssins.
There's only one free Medicine and Remedy for your spiritual disease called SIN. The Searching, Seeking, Saving Shepherd is looking for you today. A guilty conscience which is awakened from its fatal slumber by the Holy Spirit begins to be troubled and worried about sinning against God and entering Eternity without Christ. An awakened, guilty conscience will follow you around like your shadow on the ground, and dog your footsteps, and disturb your sleep, and trouble your waking hours. The thoughts of God's wrath will haunt you everywhere you may go, and you begin to realize that God is watching you, and you tremble at God's words.
You see, we need a Substitute, someone to Mediate between us and God, so we can approach our Holy Creator, and have our sins freely forgiven. God is all Light, but we are all Darkness within. God declares us righteous for Jesus' sake, when we put our faith in the Blood and Righteousness of Jesus Christ. The guilty criminal is pardoned and goes to live with the Judge Himself. The Judge transfers all our guilt to Jesus Christ our Advocate who paid the debt of our sins in full through the Blood of His Cross (Colossians 1:20). Be wise: Totally trust your immortal Soul to Jesus Christ, for there's nothing you can ever do to earn your way into God's favor. The Cross is a spiritual sponge that absorbs human sin. Christ Jesus bore our sins in His own body on the tree, and satisfied God's righteous demands. JEHOVAH laid on JESUS the iniquity of us all at Calvary. He loved you, and gave Himself for you. There's no way you'll ever get any credit for your Salvation; The Lord Jesus Christ must receive all the credit, and all the glory for saving your ungodly soul.
Human nature says, "There's no such thing as a free lunch. This is too good to be true." Since you didn't have to work for Salvation to start with, how many works do you have to stop doing to lose your Salvation? Salvation is a Free Gift that is unable to be lost; Losing your spiritual Salvation is harder than losing your physical DNA. You can't get bad enough to lose Salvation, because you didn't have to be good enough to obtain Salvation. God is Holy, Christ is the Substitute, and the Sinner is guilty. Christ Jesus became Sin for us.
Is there any Hope for lost sinners? Yes, only one, The Lord Jesus Christ. But don't I have to add something to what Jesus has finished? No you do not. It's an egregious insult to God to try and pay for Christ's Free Gift of Salvation. You can't pay God for something Christ took care of at the Cross. Stop trying prop up the Cross with your measly works. You don't have forever to make your mind up to receive Christ. Sin is a terminal spiritual disease; it's going to get you sooner or later, and if you keep procrastinating and lingering in the darkness of your sins, you are in imminent danger of losing your soul.
If I believe in a certain medicine, because it has helped a friend or relative recover from sickness, and yet do not take it myself, it is of no use to me; if I believe that Christ can save sinners, but do not go to Him personally to save me, He is of no use to my dying soul. If I am in danger at sea and there is a lifeboat, and I just believe in it, such faith will not save me from the angry waves. No, I must get into the lifeboat in order to be saved. If I am hungry and only believe in bread, the bread will never take away my hunger; I must eat and swallow it down my throat. If I am dying of thirst in the heat of summer, and see a cool glass of water by my side, it will not quench my thirst by merely believing in the water. I must take the glass and drink the water down for myself. Likewise, personally and inwardly receiving Christ into your heart and soul is the essential need, and your soul needs Him more than anything.
The "CROSS" is the short term for the sinless substitutionary finished work of God manifest in the flesh, the Lord Jesus Christ: He is the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world. The Holy Creator only makes peace with sinful man Through the Blood of Jesus' Cross. In the Holy Bible, this is called Propitiation. Man ignorantly makes a superstitious symbol out of the cross. The spotless Lamb of God became the sinner's Substitute, and now the Righteousness of God is offered and given freely to sinners who believe in Jesus. Christ suffered, bled, died, and rose from the dead, especially for you. The Substitution of Jesus displays the wrath of God against human sin. The welcome mat has been laid out at the foot of the Cross for you.
The Spotless Lamb (He knew no sin), the Sinner's Substitute (He became Sin for us), Righteousness is Freely Provided (that we might become the Righteousness of God in Christ). Simply come Christ as a guilty, lost, poor sinner; He has done all the work for you; He bore your sins and took its punishment on your behalf. Someone that didn't deserve your penalty took your place and bore the whole punishment that your sins justly deserved, leaving you free and clear of guilt. That's what JESUS did for you at the Cross.
You must come to God on His terms, not yours; and understand that you are without strength - helpless. In order for Christ to become your Righteousness, you must be in Him spiritually, and that only happens by you putting your faith (implicit trust) in His Precious Blood alone. Spiritual surgery on your soul must be conducted by the Great Physician, and then Jesus cancels your sin debt, and in turn gives you His perfect Righteousness. God makes us Right with Himself through faith in His Son's Precious Blood.
There is now (at this very moment) no condemnation (damnation) to them which are in Christ Jesus. Right now the pardon of sin can be yours. Now your soul can be eternally safe, now and forever. You have can eternal life now. Simply ask Christ now for His instantaneous, irreversible eternal life. The Atoning Sacrifice of Christ Jesus alone delivers us from the wrath of God to come. Absolutely no possibility of condemnation for the soul in Christ Jesus, because Jesus has already been condemned in our place. There is No guilty sentence for me to serve in Christ Jesus. Jesus faced and endured the wrath of God for us, and those souls in Him are safe. Don't depend on yourself, don't try to pay for your sins; Depend on Jesus alone, He paid for all your sins with His own precious blood. In Christ, God will remember your sins no more.
The eternal life of my soul lies not in what I think, or what I dream up, or what I hope, or what I feel, but only in Faith which lays hold on the words of God and the Son of God. My soul lives by trusting God's promises, depending entirely on the person of Jesus Christ, accepting His atoning blood sacrifice, and receiving His Righteousness. If you are tired of committing blatant villainies and brazen felonies against the Law and Love of God, come to Christ today. Stop messing around with your sins and this world's delusions and spells; flee to the Cross at once for eternal Refuge.
Please let the Holy Spirit lead you to the way of confession of your sins, of repentance of sinning against God, and of believing in Jesus alone. The Holy Spirit will lead you out of sin's evil captivity to Christ Himself, so please submit yourself to Christ, and above all, listen and be obedient to the Gospel command, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive Power, and Riches, and Wisdom, and Strength, and Honour, and Glory, and Blessing. Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
