Now Understand - Whatever this present evil world's system promotes, commercializes and sensationalizes (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, drugs, gambling, sex perversion, etc.) will slowly and eventually  lead you into the subtil snares and deadly traps of bondage, addiction, misery, ill health, disease, confusion, delusion, shame, suicide, divorce, debt, bankruptcy, and the like.  At the beginning, vices seem harmless and are taken lightly; but at the last, they bite like a serpent, and sting like an adder.
