*Take Heed*

Wherefore let him that
thinketh he standeth
take heed lest he fall.

Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently. Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod. Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

Wherefore let him
that thinketh he standeth
take heed
lest he fall.

Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.  Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.

Wherefore let him
that thinketh he standeth
Take Heed
lest he fall

Suffering: A Bible Doctrine

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto His disciples, how that He must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And Jesus said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day. But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. For it became Jesus, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For in that Jesus Himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay His head. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich. For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.  How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich). For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered. For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. For even Christ pleased not Himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. And they that were crucified with Him reviled Him.

And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. For I will shew Paul how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only. But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter. And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities. Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Charity suffereth long, and is kind. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

AFFLICTIONS INFIRMITIES POVERTY LOSS
REPROACH DISTRESS PERSECUTION DESPITE
CURSED HATED REVILED MOCKED DEFAMED
ADVERSITY HARDNESS NECESSITY SUFFERING

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you. The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.  I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. By pureness, by knowledge, by long suffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned. As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake.

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church.

But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention. For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews. Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound. If we suffer, we shall also reign with him. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. [Moses] choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself to Him that judgeth righteously.

Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it. Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.

As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin. But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.

Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.  Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure

Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing His reproach. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

What? Know Ye Not?

Gratitude towards God is the oil that lubricates the gears of my heart. If gratitude is running low in my heart, then my heart begins to pine for the peace of God and I feel empty. Sincere gratitude because of God's mercies (the forgiveness of sins and eternal life) towards me motivates my heart to please the heart of The Lord Jesus Christ. We serve the Lord out of love and appreciation, not to help save our souls from the wrath to come.

Wisely invest your life daily to Christ Jesus Himself and His things (the dreaded, unseen daily chores of life) before it is Too Late. Never try to serve God out of obligation or fear or guilt, but out of pure gratitude. This is called the Crisis of Consecration. Be a daily Sacrifice of praise and glory to God for Jesus' sake. In the mundane, routine requirements of life, we are to give our bodies to God as acceptable sacrifices.

Our life should be a daily offering to the glory of God. Because of the mercies of God we have received through Christ, Offer freely your body to God; make a bold ongoing daily and decisive gift of yourself to God: this is authentic Christianity in the present for God and men to see through your bodily activity. Whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men. I beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called.

We must learn about Christ and live like Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ continues His work here on Earth each day through our bodies. We must commit our bodies to Christ, just as a bride and groom commit their bodies to each other. Christ Jesus committed His body to us on the Cross, so we must commit our body to Him day by day. Be transformed daily by the Holy Spirit, not conformed by the spirit of this world.

The wisest, most reasonable, most honorable thing you will ever do is present your body as a living sacrifice daily to your Creator and Savior. The highest wisdom is to depart from evil and please the heart of God. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. What do you boast and brag about with your friends?

Freely yield to the Holy Spirit and be led by Him. Full passionate surrender to the LORD leads to full satisfaction. We must decide Daily to behave what we believe. We are constrained by the love of Christ. Purity of life in secret and acceptable to God is an acceptable sacrifice. Let thy garments be always white; Avoid the mud puddles of sin and oil stains of self in your daily walk and keep your feet clean for God's glory. How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of Peace. Act like what you are in the sight of God and men. We must give our bodies, not just our heart, our life, our money. We should behave daily for the glory of God. Whatever your hands find to do, do all to the glory of God at home, school, workplace, or church as an act of worship.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your ownFor ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. And Jesus said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me

But I keep my body under, and bring it into subjection. That ye put off the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or coveteousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient; but rather giving of thanks.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. I die daily. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for My sake shall find it. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul. It is a faithful saying, For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead. From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because for the work of Christ Epaphroditus was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me. But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death.

Present your body daily to God and everything your body contains (heart, soul, mind, thoughts, will, plans, circumstances, words, talents, health, emotions, faculties, eyes, ears, intellect, sufferings, tongue, affections, love, sickness, deeds, disappointments, hands, desires, feet) as a living sacrifice to God. If God has your body, He has all of you. What I believe should show up in my daily behavior. Authentic Christian conduct comes from being a daily sacrifice, not just church membership or attendance on a certain day at a certain place. Worship is for the entire week for a Christian, not just a few hours on Sunday. Every day is a day of worship when our bodies are yielded to God; 24/7 Christianity is what is expected.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. Know ye not that your bodies are members of Christ? For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. That we, being dead to sin, should live unto righteousness.

Be a Beseecher

  • Beseech -- To entreat; to supplicate; to implore; to plead with; to beg; to request earnestly; to ask or pray for urgently and fervently; to press or urge.
  • Beseecher -- one who beseeches.
And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

And David's heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the Lord, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O Lord, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

Now therefore, O Lord our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the Lord God, even thou only. Now, my God, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?

Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine. Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, and teach me thy judgments.

Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. Be not wroth very sore, O Lord, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people. But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the Lord, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live.

O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us. Wherefore they cried unto the Lord, and said, We beseech thee, O Lord, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done as it pleased thee.

And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Intreat now the face of the Lord thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the Lord, and the king's hand was restored him again, and became as it was before. And Jehoahaz besought the Lord, and the Lord hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them. And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.

And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews. Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the Lord, and besought the Lord, and the Lord repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls.

And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him. And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die. And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching Him that he would come and heal his servant. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with Thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child. And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him. And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole. For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again. So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.

And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there.

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you. I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called. I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ. I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds: Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me. Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
